yeah, right, were gonna draft 2 tackles in the first round ....

Seems like a lot of the mocks have us taking Chad Jackson with 1b. I really don't see us taking an OT. Our OL needs are interior not tackle. If we hang on to both first round picks I see us going DL or RB with 1a.

if lepsis is gone i can see us taking 1 ot, but there´s no way we´re gonna give up on foster now.

i might be unfair on jackson here, but im weary of florida wrs ...

We can not let Lepsis go! He had a Pro Bowl year IMO. I'm not real sure about Jackson either - not because he's from Florida but because his numbers weren't real great in that spread offense this year. I think he's a year early but it's not a great year for receivers so.... I'm really inclined to trade down with 1b if we can. I think the value of round 2 and 3 has gone way up. I like some of the WR who are projected later - i.e. Stovall, Blackman, Lee.

Wroten will be in jail by draft day and like you said there is no way Broncs take two tackles. Lepsis is not going anywhere. He is near All Pro in this system, he likes it here and he has roots here. Besides no one will pay him more than Broncs, because he is a "system" player.

dont get me wrong, i dont want lepsis gone ... but i remember one of the resident cap gurus saying that lepsis has the chance of voiding the remainder of his contract every offseason. i wouldnt mind tagging him, but you never know.

as far as interior linemen go ... whos out there that we could grab in rounds 2-4? eislinger and setterstrom out of minnesota, nick mangold out of tOSU ... max jean giles out of georgia ...?

21. DENVER BRONCOS (from Washington)
Mathias Kiwanuka | DE | Boston College
Kiwi slides. I think his lack of bulk/run stuffing ability will be what does it, but if he does fall, you can bet he wont get past Denver who could use a pass rusher.

30. DENVER BRONCOS
Santonio Holmes | WR | Ohio State
Big play WR who the Broncos could groom to step in for Rod Smith.

61. DENVER BRONCOS
Elvis Dumervil | DE | Louisville
I'm not buying Dumervil as a 1st Rounder just yet, but if he falls this far, the Broncos would love to add a pass rusher to theri defense..

Jason Spitz out of Louisville is rated pretty highly and can play G or C.

That...would...be...sweet.

The other one that has us taking Landry and Wright is solid too, just put Addai in over freakin Fasano. Davin Joseph in the 3rd would be solid too.

That would be one of the best draft ever. The potential talent would be scary.

Lepsis can void his deal and he probably will, but it will be renogotiated to a fair contract and he will stay in Denver. No one else thinks a guy who weighs 290 can play LT, even if he has shown it this year.

Several names have been mentioned already at OG/C - I would add Davin Joseph of Ok who is a Ot but will start at OG in the NFL. Others - Mike Degory Fl, Marvin Philip - Cal, Donovan Raiola - Wis, JB Cloosner - ala, Troy Reddick - Auburn

I think that might change if Kubeck end up in Houston. Lepsis get a big deal and Kubes end up with LT to defend Carr and teach the line how to play.

If the first two rounds of the draft went like this for the Broncos, you wouldn't be able to knock the smile off my face with a sledgehammer.

The thing that makes me laugh is that even if this were to happen, we'd still have a percentage of posters who'd call it a disaster.

I wouldn't be happy if they went with 2 DEs in the first 2 rounds. Didn't see Bunkley or Eslinger in the first 2 rounds, so give me either of those two.

If the Broncos wind up with Kiwanuka without having to trade up, I'll consider day one a success no matter who else is taken.

You guys from out of town don't see it. His roots are too deep here. Would take a huge difference to get him to leave.

I would prefer a DT over a 2nd DE but, who knows Denver drafted 3 CB's in a row and just so we attempt to upgrade DE position I'll be happy.

Exactly. There's not a chance in hell it could happen, barring some major Combine mishap.

I think Kiwi at no. 22 is very unlikely, www.nfldraftcountdown.com has him going no.12

They have Santonio Holmes at no.22 and DARYN COLLEDGE OT at no. 30

As good as that sounds...no way (actually unlikely) any of those players fall to those picks they are at.

If we got that i would say it would be the 2nd best draft in Denver history.

You guys from out of town don't see it. His roots are too deep here. Would take a huge difference to get him to leave.
What kind of roots are you talking about, exactly?

That he went to CU?

Did you know that Lepsis was born in Texas? Do you know his parents own a furniture store in Frisco, Texas?

Do you know that the Broncos, because of salary cap reasons, simply cannot afford to pay him what the Texans can? Do you know that Lepsis' contract is dropping from 3.5 million this year to 1.0 million next year? With Denver already scheduled to be 26ish million over the cap for next year, where are they going to get the money to pay him? The Texans are 14 mill under it.

Add to this the move of Kubiak to Houston, the dire need for a good left tackle (especially when they pick Reggie Bush instead of Ferguson), in a zone blocking scheme just like Denver's, and the possibility of Offensive Line coach Rick Dennison going with Kubes to Houston...

What roots, again?

What roots, again?

The only thing that could keep Lepsis here is if he either loves Shanny or he wants to be on a team with a shot at a Superbowl.

My bet is he follows somebody he knows to Texas gets a big bonus and rides financial security for the remainder of his career.

You don't know him. He is very close to his friends here. He has his money invested here. And no one else wants a 280 pound LT.

He will get a decent contract and retire a Bronco.
