View Full Version : Al Wilson's Cast

I'm a little worried about how much the cast on Al Wilson's right hand will hinder his tackling ability. We saw Mike Peterson of the Jags miss several tackles last week with a similar cast. True, Peterson is no Big Al, but the Patriots do have some quality TEs.

BTW, props to Big Al for being named All-Pro. That is a hell of an honor, and very surprising that those voting looked beyond the statistics.

don't like it, i know he won't be catching any int's but he couldn't do that with two hands. none of the broncos linebackers can catch. i don't think any of them had a int all year. i think wilson has one his whole career and that was last year. oh well maybe he will surpise me and catch a one handed int saturday night!

It's Al. What's the problem? He doesn't need hands to tackle, he just stares at ball carriers and they fall to the ground quivering in fear.

Mike Peterson had it around his entire hand

Al can still grip with his 4 other fingers

I'm very concerned about it. It's being swept under the rug like it's no big deal but I think it is. My understanding is that the cast will not really allow him to grip with the other four fingers. I think I read that a couple would be wrapped together. He's playing three weeks ahead of the normal recovery time.

for all you know, he may not even wear a cast on Saturday. Why let the Pats who can view the same pictures as us know all the info about his injury?

I hear ya, plus Al looks pretty happy with it on in the picture.

Maybe he will like it and wear it all the time, kinda like the Pistons' Richard Hamilton and his face mask thing.

He may not get to grab like he used to, but he now can go Conrad Dobler on O-Linemen. El Gabong right to the earhole, baby.

I doubt that is the cast he'll have on there come saturday. He'll get a shot and wear the smallest one he can ge away with. The pins likely are all the support he needs, that cast may be so he doesn't set it back at all before the game.

Broncohaven I hope you're right, I was thinking the exact same thing as you guys when I was watching the Pats/Jags game on Saturday, Peterson couldn't do jack. I know Al is ten times the linebacker but Peterson is also pretty good in his own right, regardless I still think Al slips into something a little more comfortable and comes out clubbin' some Patsies.

That cannot be the cast he will wear. If it is, we are in big trouble.

Hey, if the man can wreck utter havok with 2 seperated shoulders, I don't think a little bitty Cast is going to do anything...

Look for big thing from Big Al this Saturday Night...

It's not about toughness. It's about being able to tackle and wrap up. Using your fingers to pull down players. He wouldn't be able to grip anything with that cast on.
