As playoff week begins for the Broncos, I thought it appropriate to write a few lines to send the Broncos off right.

Being a fan of the Chiefs for several years, I have come to know a great deal about the AFC West. Not just the Broncos but the Raiders and Bolts as well. For those of us that have been following for awhile, we know just how tough this division is. I don't know if there is another division in football that literally feeds on each other through the regular season the way we do. It has been the source of many inspirational wins, and the source of some of the toughest losses.

This year was no different. The only thing different was still somewhat the same. This years AFC West Champ is not the same as last years AFC West Champ.

To be honest, I didn't expect the Broncos the be the Champs of the West. I expected you to be able to run the ball. But I really didn't expect Shanahan to limit Jakes mistakes the way he has, and I feel that is the main reason you are here now. Well that and the late season play of Rod Smith.

In fact, I have considered the Broncos the new Faiders of the West the last few years. It seems as though they start strong but finish soft. I expected the same this year. I thought that when you played the Giants you were starting to show a lack of fire that could be the beginning of the end of the Broncos. I thought the Faid had begun. I didn't say as much but was thinking it was the start of what has become an annual event with the Broncos. I was looking forward to it.

Even though you continued to win, I thought you weren't playing as well as you had to start the season. Oddly enough, it wasn't a game you won that changed my thinking, it was a game you lost. After the Giants you played the Eagles, and you started quick but let them come back in the second half. In Dallas you were outplayed I thought.

But the game you lost was the one that changed something for me. Though you did not win the game, you played hard from bell to bell. Not the faiding Broncos that I have come to love. It was not only a good game from the Broncos but a good game late from the Broncos. The Chiefs game was one of the best games you played all year.

I dont generally have too mnany nice things to say about the Broncos. I feel like they have backed into the playoffs when they have made the playoffs in recent years. But I dont feel that way this season. You didn't coast into the playoffs losing as many games as you are winning. You enter the playoffs playing good football. This year you have a legit chance at contending.

That being said, I spend a lot of time on this board. Some folks I have fun with, and some I have fun at thier expense. But one thing is certain, I have come to find friends amongst the enemy. And though I cannot wish the Broncos luck in thier upcoming playoff game, I can wish the fans good luck.

Us fans are all the same. We invest a great deal in our teams. Though we like to think we are different. We are not. We live and die with every game. We spend unbelievable hours on message boards talking about it. Debating every newspaper article. Fighting amongst ourselves over our opines on our favorite teams, or the teams we play against. There is a lot of emotion that goes into a week of football. Joy, pain, disappointment, fear, anticipation, and anxiety. We live football.

For those who do, I would like to take this time to wish you a heartfelt good luck. As fans, you deserve to win.

Now.....Go get em'

Thanks Crazy for your sincerity, wit, and brutal red panted point of view.

:sunshine: Futures is so bright have to wear shades. :sunshine:

I have no idea how the Broncos are going to do but it feels good to enjoy this part of the season. Herm isn't going to be as good or as bad as fans think. Broncos are going to be a different organization without Kubiak. The WHOLE AFCW is getting re-organized in the off season.

Dallas kicked out butts physically and burned us on obvious stuff. The fact we won shows the Broncos will to succeed. The Giants game was painful looking at what Carolina did to them. The Broncos have not only been in it but could have won every game they played except Miami.

Patriots are masters of making adjustments. If we are up 21 points and don't shut them down that team has potential to come back. This is going to be 60 minutes of football. Steelers vs. Colts? I cannot imagine the Colts losing.

So your realpoint in all that is that the Chiefs beat the Broncos at there very best? Nice try Crazy!

Kidding aside, I didn't think you had it in you to speak of the Broncos so highly. You do make a good point though. Football is much like religion in dividing people. We're all more alike than different, it just depends on where we attach our allegience. Then we argue the same points, and merely change the names. For most of us the bickering is light hearted, for some it's all too serious. For the most part it's just a bunch of crap.

The one great truth burried within the rhetoric, however, is that the Broncos are better than the Chiefs. Always have been, and always will be.

I think Crazy has already realized how screwed the Chefs are gonna be with sqHerm Edwards.

It's cool, Crazy...our bandwagon seats are always kept warm for defectors.

We'll let ya "Neil Smith" it.

Just wait for the SPerman Edwards meltdowns after a loss like the Bills, I can't wait. Let me add to this, no other coach meltsdown and loses his composure like edwards and it's really funny, kind of like the planet after a loss, fire CP Vermiel retire, blah blah blah.

As I can fully appreciate yours and RBDs attempts at coming up with a funny name for the new HC of the Chiefs. Your gradeschool attempts are cute, but just that.

Please, call him Hermiel. It's ironically funny, and witty.

unicorn, "us" fans are not all the same as you. I will never look at anything you say as positive because for every one decent post you make, there's 50 5hitty ones that suck. You are a troll in sheeps clothing.

Sidenote: how are we the faiders of the afc west: see additional post in the forum titled " 4 loosing seasons in 30 years"

The faiders are a more succesful organization than you. You rival The Cardinals in playoff success.

Maybe it is my own bias coming through...but Crazy's 'compliments' always have seemed to me to be of the left-handed variety.

Mentioning that the Broncos were at their best when they lost to the Chiefs...or as in a previous thread when Crazy congratulated the Broncs on winning the West all the while wishing the AFC West could produce a viable Superbowl contender in the future....

They just smack of someone who isn't really believing the compliments he is peddling.

Either way I don't really care. It is the yearly ritual of the typical Chief fan.
