Last time I talked to Disco, he was planning on meeting in the same spot but without the bus. Trust me Disco is as prepared as an individual can be for this one. Stop by and prepare to make history as NE reign as rulers of the roost comes to an end.

I just got back to my computer for the first time since the SD game. I got side tracked in Mexico for a few days and spent much needed time with my family in Tucson.
This has been a very difficult decision for me but I will not be at Saturdays game and neither will the bus. To make a long story short my girlfriend and I booked a trip down the Amazon about 10 months ago. This was shorty after we traveled to Indy last year to watch us get beat down. When we booked the trip I realized I might miss a couple playoff games but figured if we went to the superbowl I would be back for that. Aside from tossing alot of money in the garbage for which I have already pre-paid for the trip I just can't make it.
The tailgate will be in the usual spot #31 lot CR-V. A friend of mine Buck from Club Crush will have his vehicle nearby "Crushzilla" to help Disco and others with the tailgate. As far as the bus goes we both decided it wasn't worth the liability for him to take the bus without me. Too many things can go wrong. Besides we did a tailgate without OF1 at the redskins game and it was just as much fun.
This is a difficult decision as I've only missed 3 home games since 2000 but I really have no choice and I would simply break my girlfriends heart if I backed out on this trip. The reason I didn't mention it earlier was I was still considering backing out on the Amazon trip until recently.
Anyway the tailgate rolls on! Raise hell for me!
Disco will update this thread shorty with further details about the tailgate.
If there are Omaners who want to come by on Friday to hang out as Disco, Buck and myself do preperation work for the tailgate they are welcome to come by the bus shop Friday evening for pre-tailgate gathering.
GO BRONCOS!

I put this in a seperate thread so it would be obvious - but just heard from the Broncos that all Broncos lots will open at 10AM on Saturday... Eight hours of playoff tailgating coming up...

01-10-2006, 09:59 AM
This is my understanding of what is happening over in CRV-31. 12thman and Disco have been working together to get this thing dialed in. I've been apprised as follows: The bus is not going to be there, but the tailgate will. "NO BUS, JUST US!!!" We'll be showing up as soon as the lots open, which might be as early as 10am (Thanks Chrisar for the heads up!) I'll be bringing about 5-10 lbs of each of the following: hotdogs, brats and hamburgers including all necessary buns. 12thman will bringing beer (amount to be determined), liquor and other assorted snacks/food. Plus, live Maine lobsters which will be raced throughout the day until about 4:00 when we'll boil 'em up. Not sure exactly what Disco is bringing (besides his party hardy attitude), but I'm sure, if anything, it will be alcoholic in nature.
Don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting pumped up!!! Meck, sorry to hear you won't be there. Have fun down in the Amazon and we'll do our best to do this thing OF1 style and make you proud.
Meck77
01-10-2006, 10:02 AM
Right on Teddman! Like I said Crushizilla will also be there to haul a bunch of stuff down. I think Buck is adding a sound system to it today. Just get us thru this game guys and hopefully Indy can get knocked off. If not hopefully we win this game and punk Indy in there house. If that happens OF1 will be ready to roll to Detroit!

OK gang ...we will be in the same parking space for the tailgate, Lotc-rv space 31. We will have two big bbq pits for cooking and we have burgers, dogs, brats, chips and all the norm. for a tailgate party. Feel free to bring things to cook, also we will have a good amount of beer and some mixers. If you want to bring some liquid feel free....we will have space in our coolers to keep it cold! The lot opens at 10:00am, we will be there right as it opens. We will see all of you guys down there, get there early to get fired up for the game! We welcome all O'maners to stop into the party, we look forward to seeing all of you again or meeting some of you for the first time.

Since the meat portion seems to be covered, we will stop from the airport to get some sides ie. potato salad. Of course beer will be brought as well as i cant fathom to swindel someone's beer. Is the lobster covered for all or just those that are paying for it? I like a little style with a home playoff game so I am game if accepted. Has anyone checked to see if a keg is allowed on the premises. For $65 to $75 you can liquid feed 50 fans. Well 30 for this game.

Just to drop a note on those that think they cant make it. I got air flight on United.com with efares from LA for $220 tax included. Priceline.com for $90 a night at Mark Air (or is it Aire Mark whatever) which is a kick ass hotel with great beds. $30 with tax and all the other crap tacked on for a car that i believe is like a Grand Prix or Mazda 626. I would have got priceline around Stapelton for $35 but the Cowboys from KC are coming to their Stock Show since they are not in the playoffs (again). Good Luck!

I'll be getting in shortly before 12:00 on Saturday and will probably go directly to the stadium. Where are the out of towners staying? Just curious because I haven't booked a hotel yet. We'll see everyone at the tailgate!
Meck, have a great trip. I'll do my part to try to help the Broncos get through this week and get one step closer to Detroit.

Meck, too bad you can't make the game man. I was at the San Diego game and it wasn't until after the game that i realized i had actually met you. My friend showed me your OF1 card after the game and then it all kinda clicked. By the way, who was the guy in the Wilson jersey throwing jello shots to everyone? is he an OM guy?
I'll be in Denver for the game this weekend, and if its anything like San Diego was it'll be a great time. We dont need the bus, these guys kick ass either way..very generous people as well.
anyone else trying very hard not to think about the game so that it doesn't take a million years to get here?
Meck77
01-10-2006, 06:23 PM
I'm trying to think who that may have been Champ. I think CBF1 made the jello shots? I don't recall what jersey he was wearing.
Like I said in the thread earlier if there are people who want to come by on Friday we'll be kicking it around the bus shop putting the final touches on the tailgate supplies making sure Crushzilla and Disco's ride are fully supplied for the tailgate! OF1 will just be sitting around collecting dust for a couple weeks. We'll probably throw an old game tape in the Bus VCR and relive some mile high memories before the big day!

i'm going to drive up from Flagstaff friday night. Shame not to get to see the bus. Hopefully you guys can bring it down to Arizona for the Cardinal slaughter next year. But I will be Orange and Loud come saturday and look forward to meeting all the folks. If anyone is driving from Phoenix to the game, gimme a message and perhaps we can split the drive to Denver.
p.s. I'm from Littleton, but I've lived in AZ since 97. I was planning on riding the lightrail from Mineral/SantaFe to Invesco. I don't feel much like driving after this game, and hopefully i'm trying to coerce a ride out of someone for some celebretory downtown action after the game. Does the lightrail stop at Invesco? Am I going to be able to find the Tailgate easy enough from it's drop off location?

The C Train drops you right close to Invesco...just a short walk. That's the best way to get around to/from the game...especially with drinking going on. Not to mention traffic...yuck. We never drive and taxi's are a pain.

When are u arriving? My wife and I come in around 10 50 Saturday from OC. We are staying at the same hotel. Figure to take off to tailgate at 2 (would be earlier but wifey wont go for that). Look for #73 Simon FLetcher jersey. Im bringing some sides to the tailgate to contribute to the food fund oh and beer too). I was told you can walk the 9 blocks to LoDo or their is a shuttle (i believe its free) to LoDo where you can jump on the bus to Invesco. The free hotel shuttles are always a good idea. I believe Ramada has one that drops you off at their location next to the stadium. Nice little gift shop of Broncos stuff inside too (rest. is on top floor with great view). Good Luck frugal Man. I always look for that type of angle. SuperBowl tickets too expensive? No problem , I just snuck in made it cheaper big time. I am also a proud Priceline.com shopper!

Our flight is supposed to get in around 10:40pm but we are hoping to catch an earlier flight out of PDX...not sure if there are any.
We typically take the Super shuttle from the Airport. Going to the game...we take the free Mall ride to the station and catch the C line...takes you right to Invesco. Getting back is quick, too. Any predictions on how loud this stadium will get. Provided it's not a Broncos blowout and it's a close game, i'd think we should be able to make for terrible camera shots. I told my coworkers there TV's will be ok, it's just the stadium moving.

i was in 506 near the top for the ravens game and couldnt believe how loud the south stands were, almost louder than the rest of the stadium..sat behind raiders bench last game and that section was dead quiet...maybe because one game was close and other was more of a blowout? we need to bring it for this game...everybody make some noise, lets make those cameras shake...

Yes indeed Bronx! OF1 will also be on 9 news tomorrow morning for a little hype if any of ya want to cruise down with me an disco. They called me this morning. We'll be at the station on speer/logan at 6:30am.
Has Belicheck been made aware of this development. I heard he bought those tickets to the Amazon to ensure that OF1 would NOT be at the game.
I hope he checks his 1-900-HULK HOGAN hotline.rofl

I'd say more beer or food. We have plenty of the main staples burgers, brats, ribs etc. Maybe chips or side dish etc. Or if the beer store is easier to get to that would be fine also.
I'm curious to see 12th man's lobster race tomorrow....lol
btw....Channel 4 news confirmed they will be at the tailgate at noon to interview some of you nut cases.

I can assure everyone they will be treated with respect and compassion in their final hours. They will be boiled in the purest rocky mountain spring water, and then smothered with lemon and butter. mmmm delicious...

Well were all prepped for tomorrow. The RV's packed, the coolers stocked. The alarm is set, but I'm sure I'll beat it to the punch.
We're heading down around 6ish. Nothing like a days worth of adrenaline before kick-off.
See Ya and "hear ya" at the game!:~ohyah!:

man i wish i could be there earlier.
the town is starting to get crazy.
its really starting to feel like the old days.
businesses are posting "gameday" hours and closing early, signs around town say "go broncos", ALL of the overhead signs on e470 say "go broncos, pound the pats", and restaurants, salons, car dealerships, even attorneys offices are allowing and encouraging employees to wear bronco gear to work.
i got chills driving by mile high this morning reading the huge sign saying "the playoffs return to broncos country".
anyway, i sure wish i could get there earlier, but at least we'll be there.
we'll have the tickets waiting at will call, and im going to try to leave here as early as possible so we can pick them up and still have time to come by the tailgate.
cant wait to see all the regulars as well as the out of towners.
in the immortal words of the disco man
WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

ps- a friend of mine told me last night that she has 3 tickets for sale.
im pissed at her for not using them (she cant get out of work. she does the same thing i do but at a less understanding dealer) but i'd rather have them in the hands of a bronco fan than a scalper.
theyre in the lower section and she's asking 175.00 a piece for them.
if anyone is interested ill find out exactly where they are.
let me know.
