Let us start getting a head count for the away game in Phoenix, Arizona. I know Meck has the crew from there and when I went after 9.11.01 for the ESPN game in Arizona and felt the crowd was at least 40% Broncos fan. They are moving to a new stadium so there might be more season tickets to the game. Hopefully this isnt the first game there so we dont pay a huge ticket price. Remember, these are the Cards so maybe if we put a group together, they can get us better seats than what we get as season ticket holders and purchase through the Broncos and Cards give it at face value. Boy, they just plain suck. Good for us though. So. let us start this thread and get ready for 2006. Is it ever to early to plan a tailgate party?

Hmmm...I may have to plan for this one! I'm originally from Tucson, so I'll mix it in with visiting old friends. It will be a full week of fun! :) ^5 :alky:

Just talked to account guy in AZ. He informs me that they have to wait until season ticket holders are moved to new stadium and also for new season ticket holders. May will be the earliest for group info.

I love the enthusiasm, but we're still playing football. Talk of next season is for teams such as the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers...:~ohyah!:

I know we are still in for 2005 but once the season ends (abruptly or by Super Bowl), many will be gone until July or August. Best to plan now while e have the fans here. Haste makes waste.

I haven't been to AZ since 1988 and that was only Flagstaff. Depending upon how huge this gets and when it is, I just might entertain the notion of coming.

You're still doing the SD game though, right John?

This thread isnt necessary getting tailgatting going, it is to get tickets together so we can buy early with a group. I ask you, if this sounds good to you but you want us to wait until May, are you going to buy the 20 to 50 tickets with your credit card THEN post to ask people to send you money if they want to go? I dont and would rather gather a group now to May so I dont put up $2500 or more and pray we get enough people. Or you can just buy tickets on your own and sit with Cards fans. Where to tailgate and when can be discussed at a much later time, that I agree with you. This is just to get a head count on who is planning a trip to Arizona for 2006 game.

Christmas lights are down and stored, and the Mississippi Mud is stocked for the playoffs. Tickets and parking in hand, just waiting for the opponent to set the menu!
But that's for next weekend, not next fall!

I will sit with Card fans... All 3 of them that will actully attend the game. A new stadium will only bring in so many new "fans". Lets say the new place doubles season tickets holders than will only fill 1/2 of the stadium.

As far as tailgating goes DO NOT let broncocalijohn run it, real TG's start before 10:00 am :)~

Can you believe the "idiots" at Mile High aren't opening the gates until noon next Saturday. WTF is that?

broncocalijohn
01-06-2006, 12:15 PM
Hey i was late to Mile High West only because of kiddie problems (3 and 20 month old). I was grilling within 15 minutes of arriving. It is a weekend trip to AZ so only thing on my mind is waking up from a stupor from the night before and getting ready for the tailgate. We will let CBF1 take care of the tailgatting--fine with this fan! BTW: Got the early flight to Denver on Saturday just so I can be there when the gates open. With bells on

Remember this one as this game might be their hot seller and possibly a home opener or espn game because 1) Broncos might be Super Bowl Champs, 2) new stadium for the loser Cardinals , 3) It is Jake's first return to Phoenix and 4) Plummer played at Arizona State. This will be a hot ticket so plan now 'cause may isnt too far away!

CHEF LUIGI

Tickets wont be a problem, The new stadium should be an outstanding venue, we will call it "mile high-south"
there will be more bronco fans then cards fans as long as the game is in october or later.
I will see you all in DENVER this sunday! lot N, C or O, is that right?

not until after june. I am lined up for may approximately when all the season ticket holders are cleared. Just keep looking at this thread come May. I will probably charge $5 extra per ticket to any maner that buys them before my credit card comes through to be owed. I need to get 20 at least to be considered a group and get them before they go on sale to the public.

Suddenly this game becomes a bit more interesting. New dome, Full stadium of fans I'm sure, and Egde running the ball.

Visiting teams going to AZ just might not be able to chalk up an automatic win anymore. Add a QB and AZ might really cause some trouble.

I'm definetly doing this game.

they will be a tough team next year. Their D was young last year and did a good job at forcing TO's. Warner is their QB, with a decent OL they will win the nfc west.

Ludo like I said earlier bro it just depends on when this game hits the schedule. I have little to no interest in taking it to AZ if the game is early sept. Driving OF1 in 100 degree weather just wouldn't be that fun. If it's later in the year we'd definetly consider it as I'd like to get the rest of the OF1 construction guys up from Tucson for this one along with whoever wanted to join us.

If early september (you never know this might be their home opener as Plummer would be coming back for the first time in regular season), i guess we would rent a generator and 4 huge fans to keep us cool. How you AZers live out there is unknown to me. BTW: AZ cards had top 10 in offense and defense. I dont think too many teams can say that.

I drove by the new stadium yesterday on my way down to Tucson. I should have taken a pic. It's pretty impressive looking but I'm surprised they stuck it in BFE west phoenix. Seems to be coming along well. It's a good thing this game is in December because the guys were planting twigs for trees yesterday. It's going to be a LONG time before there is any shade in their parking lots. lol

i think i will call the guy up on monday and see what season tickets are gping for. Add to my list (why people will go to this game) of one Matt leinart is now on the team. Cant wiat for CBF now says about this game and getting a cheap easy ticket. HA HA
BTW: Bought 2 tickets on ebay 30 yard line upper deck for $50 each. I figure I would rather have something than nothing. Tickets going up and they probably will go higher. I am a season ticket holder so i hope to gather some up from the Broncos. We probably will be 50 strong but scattered once the game starts.

Couldnt agree more. Good idea. I just hope people are now getting tickets. I now have 6 tickets for this game. Anybody in Socal ie. Pezman should think up of a shuttle bus to rent to go down to AZ Saturday morning 12/16. Meet up with Meck for one of two ultimate weekends in a row. We will see what happens. Worse than this could be the Cards actually start the season off well and really shut out the Broncos fans for tickets. I liked 2001 when 40% were Broncos fans. We might have 15% if we are lucky!

"inconceivable" said the little dude from the princess bride.
But outlets like razorgator and others will probably have tickets, they wont be cheap like previous seasons when you could get a cardinal game ticket below, yes I said BELOW face value.

I look forward to seeing fellow bronco fans before the game, regardless!

The pre-season game should generate some excitement, it will feature at least 3 quarters of cutler VS. leinart.

If plans are for a saturday fun for all, lets do soon as I am coming from Calif and I know many will be also. Want to get the plane tickets in JUne when they go on sale. I was thinking a tailgate drive like Meck but flying is so cheap and we get there quicker. I just hope all here staying in that area will get on here soon so we can get maybe a group rate at a hotel/motel. We will need help from u locals to where to stay close to fun and the new stadium. On group tickets and parking, I am calling the rep next week. One last chance on tixs as a group but parking should be no problem setting up now. Good luck on all.

Well - we've got a couple of groups coming down. Some (or most) of us will probably be staying with one of my brother-in-laws best friends. Some would want hotels though. Last year when we went to KC we left on Friday around noon and got in pretty late (early AM) on Saturday and others drove out on Saturday. If we did a cool golf tourney then we'd either leave Thursday night or Friday early early...

But - I like this idea. Could have legs...

remember gang, there will alsobe a pre-season game for our broncos at cardinal stadium, a thursday night game, the last of the pre-season that will probably showcase CUTLER and Lienert, each with at least 2 full quarters with the first string offenses!
I will be there for both, I look forward to meeting many of you!

Just went on the Cardinal site yesterday. It appears as if there is a waiting list for season tickets. The site also mentioned that single game tickets will primarily go to those on the waiting list.

Well the way it works is we pick a parking lot, raise the Broncos flag, light the BBQ, and drink some cold ones before the game. Someone was supposed to check on the parking lot situation out in AZ....I need to double check the thread. . We plan on having the bus at this game so we pack most of the essentials and people just usually chip in or bring something to add to the party. The more the merrier.

Sure if you want but all I really need to do is call and secure a spot for the bus. Most stadiums have designated cash RV lots. Hey but if you are in the hood some progress pics would be pretty cool! I drove by there about 6 months ago and they were just dropping trees in the lot. They have to be close to being done now!

Well, now we need to know who is coming from the LA area. I am planning on flying but how fun would it be to rent a 15 person van or shuttle type van (you can drink on those) and start the mobile tailgate on saturday morning? Flying is cheap but this shuttle thing could get good and ugly.

I found approximately 32 tickets for this game in Section 450 rows 13-16. They are selling eight per row at $75 a piece. Are people still trying to get together for group tix? These were also on stubhub for $86 each. I also found 12 seats together in 403 rows 20-23 for $65 and 8 tix in 422 row 20 for $50.

Bought my tix for the game a few days ago. Section 119, row 7. If you don't have a seating chart in front of you, that's dead middle endzone between the goalposts, and only 7 rows up! I've never seen a game from that angle, so I don't know how good it'll be, but it seems cool. Plus I'll be on TV for all the XP's and FG's!

I was thinking about waiting for the regular season to start and hopefully ticket prices would go down. I just checked to see how tickets were selling through four of the brokers and noticed that a number of the seats I had "ear-marked" were sold. The 32-pack in sec 450 (sideline behind the endzone) is still there for $75 each.

Anything is the lower deck that was reasonably priced (compared to the other prices) are gone. The following are still available:

sec. 122 (back of EZ) row 11 (6 tix) $95 ea.
Sec. 122 row 4 for $109.
Sec. 121 row 3 is also $109.
Sec 125 row 8 for $117 (Row 2 is going for $165.)
Sec 437 row 8 is $60

There are cheaper seats in the upper corners going from $31 - $60. The upper goalline seats seem to be $90. Although the 32-pack is $75 and the cheapest are $60. However, I'm not flying in from Chicago to sit in the corner all the way up top unless it's with other :OF1:ers.

Moral of the story: I know that this game is 5 months away, but I was hoping to see if anyone is TRULY interested in sitting together. OW, I am hoping to pick up my two seats behind the EZ soemhere - probably in 121 or 122.

I also have tickets to some of the Broncos home games that I will gladly trade for tickets to this game if anyone is interested. I picked up 12 tickets for various games (SD, SEa., SF, and Cinn) - all Upper Deck. I will be more than happy to trade all of them for 12 AZ tickets (if anyone has spares) to make it a little-bit cheaper for anyone going to this game. That way tickets would only be like $68 and hopefully have better seats (since that is what I paid for the Broncos tickets plus the ticketmaster convenience fees and processing fees.) Though, we probably wouldn't sit together. Just my thoughts.

Discuss amongst yourselves...

The Broncos only offer seats to away games if you are a season ticket holder and there are seats remaining from their allocation after the players and staff put in their ticket requests.

Amazing how someone (ARCHIE) can just scratch his head when we have links for grouped tickets at a good price. Staff for the Broncos normally go to the Chargers away game. I will probably put a request in to get a few more for you "fans" that sat on your A$$es while many of us bought in April. I hope those sellers are honest from ebay and send me my 6 tickets.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there will be no tailgating allowed at your vehicles. I was just in training at the stadium, for working the beer stands and they brought this up. Instead they expect you to to set up in this park they have there at the stadium.

See these

and

From what I was told that its about the revenue they will lose by people using up extra spots in the lots.

We need to find a very close private lot that opens at least 8 am or 9. I think game starts at 2 there. We now need to know about group parking to get this rule bent. I was at the Cardinal stadium tonight for some training, and could not believe what I saw. As I walked around the main level I come around behind section 122 and there before me was a huge picture of the Denver Broncos playing the Cardinals. I saw no other team pictures in there, so it was pretty cool. You cannot see it from the field, but if you walk around the main level you almost can't miss it. It was over 12 feet high and down one of the entrance ways. Just thought I'd share that. Not sure who did the decorating, but they did well. :D

Also I sat in Section 124 Row 37, these are not bad seats. Section 116 thru 122 look good too, but I'd recomend rows near the top so you can see the field better.

No one there could answer my questions about tailgating. Everyone keeps talking about the park. Lot H does allow tailgating, but no larger vehicles like RVs, or busses. I'll keep checking, as I am back out there Saturday.

this is actually a real decent drawing of the stadium.

Per the Cardinals site...the only place that allows RV's or extended vehicles is Lot H (you have to take a shuttle from that lot to get to stadium) and the Youth Sports Park.

I checked CraigsList and also Stubhub...and a couple other ticket sites...no RV passes. I might just start shmoozing on the Cardinals Board...LOL :~ohyah!: ;)

Yeah...I called back. There is a lot F-oversized is what it's called. There are 60 reserved spots. If I can find one of those for sale I'd snatch it. Otherwise it looks like lot H. There are 2,500 car spots and 30 Rv spots in there. Bottom line is the cardinals have no idea how this season is going to go. They flat out told me "Our parking situation is up in the air". I can understand that being a new stadium I told them.

Anyhow I finally talked to someone who was helpful who said to call back in a couple weeks and they'll figure out how to accomodate OF1. We may end up just camping out overnight to make sure we can get into LOT H worst case scenario.

The dude I talked to the first time basically said "If you aren't a season ticket holder you can't have an RV on property"....

Anyhow as long as we have a shot at a first come first serve spot I know we'll be good to go as we are willing to wait longer than any other RVers from Phoenix.

The dude I talked to the first time basically said "If you aren't a season ticket holder you can't have an RV on property"....

Anyhow as long as we have a shot at a first come first serve spot I know we'll be good to go as we are willing to wait longer than any other RVers from Phoenix.

Sounds awesome! It may actually benefit us that this game is later in the season. Maybe they will have a few quirks worked out by then! I'm planning on being at this game...so, anything you need, just holla!! ^5

Thanks STG!

I saw on The Freak you that you had problems with the links I posted. They are the same ones I posted on this board back a few post, but I must have done something wrong.

Here they are anyway.

I read your post and see that you talked too someone about parking. I know a couple season ticket holders, so I will see what I can do. I am going out there again on Saturday to work the Cards & Steelers (Pre). Hopefully I'll get something worked out for you, and others. If so how many additional RV spots would be needed? Archie also?

Nice work Ogi! There is a general lot F and the RV-F. The cardinals referred to it as F-oversized. I haven't been able to find any of those for sale.

I've been reading the cardinals board and there seem to be alot of pissed off AZ fans.

Any info you could provide OGI would be greatly appreciated. I really don't care how far I have to walk but they were initially telling me I could park the bus in one area but I would have to drag all our gear to the lawn. I told them that's rediculous. We pack alot of gear and we aren't going to haul it across a parking lot, set up, and tear down. I think Lot H may be the answer if I can't secure an F-RV pass.

Sounds like we'll see you down there in Dec!

Hey, i know this guy in denver who bought a building near the stadium just for tailgatting/partying because of strict rules through the stadium. Maybe we should contact him to buy a building near Cardinals stadium to show these people what tailgatting is about. I wish i could remember his name, though.

Well this is AZ we are talking about Cali! They've never even experienced a home field advantage let alone 10,000 fans showing up early.

Tell me about it. I live about 15 minutes driving (during normal traffic) from the Cardinals Stadium. I heard on the radio this morning that some people left 2 hours early for the game and barely made it on time due to traffic problems, and all of the parking issues that they're having. It was only the first pre-season game, so hopefully they will iron out some issues. As you said, the Cardinals aren't used to sellouts at all, so they don't know how to manage it yet. They expect to sellout every game this year, so they're going to have to adjust their policy and open the lots much earlier if they want to make the fans happy. People want to tailgate and only opening the lots a couple hours before kickoff is only going to cause an enormous traffic nightmare. Especially considering that there is only 1 major highway that gets you directly to the Stadium (Loop 101). The only other access is through the surface streets and most of those are only 2 lanes both ways.

I'm hoping that they will figure out right away that they need to give parking access way early so that people can tailgate, get there early and the latecomers will be the sufferrers of bad traffic.

Stadium looks beautiful though, but the traffic situation is going to be a nightmare. I have my tix for both the pre-season and the regular season game. I'll let you all know on the 31st how it goes with the parking and everything.

I sure hope so! The Broncos don't come here in the Reg. season too often, so I would like to get in sometime before kickoff. I'm 12 miles away, so I should leave about 4 hours early so I can get there just in time for kickoff :)

BTW, I'm sure you're all familiar with this site, but just in case you haven't seen this, it is a nice tool to get a good idea of what your view will be depending on your seat.

Lot H right now is probably the best bet unless things change. THey have shuttle buses to the stadium. The other RV Lot F is a dirt field next to a football field. Talking with poeple there is no way to get a parking lot tix unless you bought from somonone who has one, but this past weekedn the didn't even check. It was a real pain they stadium was not ready. They did have the park full that they want everyone to tailgate in, butthey also had a live band on stage. Hopefully Meck will get better info, but I keep asking.

Wow.... 30? I don't know the total count of RV spots for Invesco but it's got to be in the neighborhood of 150 to 200 permit spots and there are various places that you can get in with an RV on the day of the game as well... I guess Bidwell has not heard of this phenomenon called the tailgate.

So anyway, I have not called but sounds like if it is Lot H then it is Lot H. My mother-in-law will be very happy to hear though about the shuttle to the stadium. It was quite a walk in KC for her. But.... one thing is that it would be nice for every Cardinal fan to walk up / drive up and see a magnificent cluster of Bronco vehicles, flags, and fans and think - wow those guys really know how to tailgate. I remember in KC the Bronco fans who saw our cluster and said I have to go check that out and even the KC fans who came out to welcome us to their turf.

You can see the stadium from lot H, its maybe a 1/2 mile walk if you don't want to take the shuttle. Cabelas maybe a bit less, but definitely closer. I will try and get over there this weekend and talk to them see what options we have. I will take some pics and post also.

If you want hotels you want to be off of 83rd Bell, Its about a 5 minute drive to the stadium. Not the closest to the stadium, but in the area of local bars. (Fox and Hound, McDuffy's, Monastery Too, Hooters and a couple others). Plus within walking distance of my house if I get toasted. There is a Comfort Sweets, La Quinta, Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, all within walking distance of the bars and each other. There are none currently next to the stadium.

Here is a post from AZ forum, pretty informative.

You don't need passes for Lot H. It's the single game lot. You can tailgate in any lot (all others require a pass, which can be purchased for various amounts on Stubhub.com, but NOT at the stadium), but you can't take more than one spot. You can set up a tent at the end of your vehicle, no buses allowed though. So either you get a pass for Lot F, (the oversize vehicle lot) or you takes you chances with Lot H. OR there's a church on 91st that was selling parking for $5.

The fact that you can't just drive up and purchase parking is going to be a real pain all season, because anyone not in the know, will be thinking they can purchase at the lot. I don't see the parking lot situation changing much because of this. Too bad.

People here in AZ hope so. I've got nothing against the cardinals..I hope they do well. I just hate the owners. The've been screwing the fans since the Bidwells moved the Cards to AZ.

They've got some great talent at WR, and now RB. Defense looks okay (why we let Berry go is beyond my understanding).

Still sportswriters and sports talk in arizona aren't impressed yet (who can blame their skepticism). Most of them are saying that the Cards will be doing well if they go 7-9 this year (O-line is still a little suspect). They have James now, but can they block for him is the question. James doesn't have the luxury of having one of the best lines in front of him anymore. We'll see! Not a Cards fan, but would be nice to have a winning NFL team in town for a change..get some people excited about sports around here.

I also went by the church ludo21 told us about no one was in, but the police were keeping people out. Some car show going on at the Glendale arena. I'll call the church on Monday morning, and see if I have any luck. If not I’ll offer to make a donation to the church and see if I can get us something. There is a big dirt area in front of the church where they maybe parking people anyway, so more to come.

Still Lot H just turned to the right a bit.

This is Lot H 2,600 parking spots and from what the guy told me there were some RVs here and the lot was packed. The put the RV's way out back. I took this picture from 91st Ave. I forgot to take a picture of the Stadium from there. I also forgot to measure, but its got to be a 1/2 mile, but they did have a shuttle bus there.

No real good news yet, I see Archie is working on a Lot F pass. I just don't know about the tailgating. Who knows come Dec they may give up on the crap and let people tailgate. I won't give up we'll get something going.

Ebay finds for those that don't want to wait: ($40, shipping $5 standard ship, or I can go pick up possibly for you if seller agrred. Of course you'd have to trust me. :)

O.K. This post applies to this game, but also the preseason one coming up on the 31st. Do I have to buy a parking pass from Stubhub or Ticket Liquidator for my car (seems like the case), and if so, that means I have to pay about $15 extra for shipping??? So I'm paying $20 just to park?

You know I am being told Lot H is for single game ticket holders, and is free. Also besides all the preferred parking I believe that is free also if you have the pass. they included the price of parking in tickets, so all these people selling the game tickets are sometimes selling the parking pass separate. Here's the Cardinals Stadium number give them a ring with your question 602-379-0102.

I am confusing myself over all this :)

Ok.... won the bid on eBay for $35 plus $4.95 shipping so $40 for a Lot F RV/Oversize vehicle parking which is less then I pay at Invesco ($60) for RV parking in Lot R. I should get the pass in a couple of days.

So the next question is is this the way to go and if so how many more Lot F passes will we need to pull it off. Personally - I like this because it's relatively close to the stadium and we can showcase the Denver tailgate to all the AZ fans and Bronco fans parking in the lots anywhere near by would be able to see us and walk over to check it out. I do wish we could get in before 4 hours before the game.

btw - the auction I won originally listed shipping at $18 which I just laughed at but figured I would have to pay. Anyway the seller lowered it to $4.95 so I was happy about that.

We need to make sure lot F for RVs can have tailgatting. Icant believe we have to find this out. What a bunch of fing idiots in AZ! BTW: RV parking with 8 parking spots for RV in San Diego is $100! Hopefully, this is big enough for all going to SD. I told MEck to park the Bus at the end of the line so we can use the driving lane also.

It is beyond me why a) they would not generally encourage tailgating and b) why, in particular, they would not allow tailgating for locations that have RVs.....

Anyway - we definitely need to get this figured out. If Lot H is packed and it allows tailgating and it's free then I would say those 3 things outweigh the distance issue. I'd really prefer to be closer but not if closer sucks...

So, who can figure this out?

Sept. 10 and 24th are home games for the Cardinals...they are hosting the 49rs and Rams. I say we wait until these games are done and bombard their boards with questions on how tailgating went, what to do, what NOT to do....learn from those that went before us!

i've been looking on stubhub, you can be Lot G parking permits for 3-8 dollars. If you guys want to get together prior to the game, we can make a tailgate in the lot. Probably just need to get passes. Let me know your interest.

Also some West Lot Spots, which will be near the grassy areas.

New words on tailgating.

Ok - update.... I made a "significant blunder" in buying the pass for Lot F. Because… I never friggen bothered (I guess) to look at the date of the game. (Admit it now, it is unusual to play two games a year at the same away stadium – but that’s no excuse because I dang well knew this). Anyway, I guess someone is looking out for me because the pass I bought was a standard car parking for Lot F but was advertised as an “oversized vehicle pass” for Lot F. I confirmed with the Cardinals that this was the case and the nice man at the other end agreed to refund the money (and the cardinals in turn are sending him new parking passes so he can park his own RV during the season - so I bet he’s glad he found out now too). So – I’m not out anything.

But – I am back to trying to figure out parking plans for the 12/17 game.

STG – thanks for the update. This is what I had read as well. It’s beyond me on why they think that “Great Lawn” will be big enough for tailgating or everyone would agree to trudge all their “stuff” over to the great lawn and then trudge it back to their car before the game. Someone really did some poor planning in my opinion. Anyway, I like the idea of waiting until after the first two home regular season games and then getting a feel for what the lay of the land will actually be.

A lawn for tailgatting SUCKS! That is what picnics are for. Take your wine and cheese and go to a park. I want a bus or car with an actual "tailgate". Bidwell has never drank a beer out of a can. He has no idea what the blue collar fan wants. A cold beer with a grill in that hot weather.

I was at the Pre-season game (Aug 31) excellent stadium, strange tailgating situation. I'll be coming up from Tucson for the Dec 17 game. All the parking around the stadium requires pre-purchased permit parking passes (PPPPP) I've already purchased five parking passes for the "Orange West" area. This is north and south of the "Great lawn" area. A good size group from Tucson is planning on taking over the great lawn area. They allow gas grills and 10' X 10' Canopy. As far as tailgating goes, you can tailgate next to your car, but you have to squeeze in close to the back side of your car. You can't take extra parking areas unless you have multiple permits. I'm not sure on the RV situation. I didn't see any RVs around the stadium. There were some off in the distance on the far southeast corner of the property. So look me up at the "Great lawn". My Nephew and me were at the Dec 31, 2005 in San Diego and AFC Championship game in Denver. Meck hooked us up with all the beer and brats we could eat in San Diego and everyone hooked us up in Denver in January 2006. Come on by and let us pay some of you back!!!http://my pictureshttp://C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Pictures\Broncos vs. Pitt

From what I saw when I was there (Aug 31st) there are only a few small lots the bus will be allowed to park after you purchase the "Parking Permits" then it's a long walk or a line to wait for a shuttle. The locals fill these sections up pretty quickly due to the screwed up Arizona Stadium rules that push out oversized vehicles. So if anyone wants to stop by the lawn party they are welcome. :bronxrox:

Between Meck, myself and some of the locals...we WILL find an RV spot for OF1! I know Meck has been in contact with the Stadium management and there is possibly at least 100 of us making our way to AZ for this game. I'm waiting for one or more home games to pass by on this stadium before I begin to infiltrate some of the other "team boards" to find out how things are moving along...and learn from their "mistakes". We have a couple of months to plan this thing and we WILL have it all in order!!

Alright folks...I realize we are still a few months away from this game, however I'd like to get an early count on those that are coming to this game and that will need a hotel in or around the area.

What are your thoughts on seeing about a hotel for the "group"? I'd be glad to do a bit of research and get a count on number of rooms needed and see if we can get a group rate at a hotel nearby. So, either post your thoughts here and I'll track them, or send me a PM and I'll get a list started. It'll also help in figuring out about how many we've got for this trip. I have a feeling it's going to be a doozy of a party!! ;D

STG - keep me in mind as you guys are looking at RV spots and I'll be doing the same (although all the research I have done portends a challenging situation). Looks like we'll have two RV's this year in our group.

The whole "great lawn" idea is just idiotic and I guess they just don't really get it. I need to follow up with the person from whom I bought a lot F (I think) pass back in August and see how those RV passes are working out.

Alright from what I have seen tailgating goes on all overthe lots. The police and security just try and keep you confined to your spot so you do not intefer with traffic. I still haven't met or found anyone that can tell me about parking a bus. The idea of carrying all your stuff to the lawn is a bad idea. the lawn is on the opposite side of the stadium from the RV parking. No private parking has opened up arthe stadium yet, so you pretty much rely on the stadium.

If you want hotels I would recomend that you look around 83rd Bell, Its about a 5-10 minute drive with traffic to the stadium. Not the closest to the stadium, but in the area of local bars and resturants. If you want resorts you'll have to look a bit farther. Glendale is just becoming one of the in areas. Well maybe it is.

Any other questions about the area or help just ask. I live up the road from the stadium.

Archie...will do! I'd actually like to get several RV spots so that we can just bombard the stadium with our Bronco love!!! ;) Meck has a contact that he's supposed to pass off on me, so I'm going to try doing some schmoozing with the stadium folks and see what we can find.

Also, if anyone wants to infiltrate some of the other teams forums that have played there thus far that would be a huge help. I'll probably check out a couple here in the next week or so.

So far for hotels I have the following:
Broncocalijohn - 1 room, 2 nights
CBF1 - 1 room, 2 nights

Let me know if anyone else needs hotel rooms for this game.....we'll try and work a group rate. And, thanks, Ogi....I'll keep that info in mind when I do my searching.

Are you all planning on staying in your RV's when you come down, or hotels? I can find the nearest RV park for you, or in front of my house is available. Just an option. Unfortuanetly I only have one spare room.

STG - Are you looking for nice affordable hotels or resorts? You can do the looking I just want to keep you close and in a good neighboorhood. The Crown Ponite that broncocalijohn pointed out is a bit far.

I still need to get off my butt and get tix. I have a freind who will sell me his season tix for cost ($55 each). Section 406 Row 3, but I am hoping to get better seats. If I do buy others or get more offers I will post for those that need tickets. With AZ's loss to KC people here may haven given up hope.

I belive I am the closest to the stadium, just not within walking distance. Anything you all need let me know. No idea on parking but it appears tailgating is allowed. You just don't have a lot of room to stretch out like in Denver.

Oh yeah the new stadium name is "University of Phoeinx Stadium" crazy huh?

John, I wouldn't count on the bus picking us up. There are way too many of us that are going to be there and I don't think it's right to expect Meck and crew to be responsible for that. We should all just plan on getting our own ride to the stadium. I'll do some research and find out what the best bet on that is. I also would venture to say that most hotels in the area will have a shuttle that will get us fairly close. There is a huge group from Tucson and I believe a group from Flag that will be there, too. Not to mention us regulars and Archie's crew as well.

I was thinking Meck might be staying at the hotel also. I know he has friends in Tucson but that is one hell of a drive while partying the night before. Plus, there is a pole, a girl from Oregon and many Broncos fans that can pack it in. If the Partridge family can do it, why not us.
