I heard today that Vernon Davis from Maryland might go top 20. i know we have a pair of picks come draft time ( depending where they fall ) so im wondering if we should try and pick this guy up. Putzier and Alexander have done fair jobs and i know we could use a little more work on the defensive front but should we try and get another " go to " TE?

Thinking the TE of the present and future are already on the team. Jeb and Duke might be the next great denver TE duo. IMO.

i say we try and develop Wesley Duke and use the picks on something else

I want Pope. Hopefully he will be entering the draft. He's a monster and runs pretty damn good for his size...
We may need another TE, How many times did Putz make TJ's "You got jacked up" list? He will not survive another year of the kind of hits he took this season.

TEs to Denvers offense are like the H back to Gibbs. Essential. so lets get two more and two more CBs to boot.

If we go TE, Davis is the one to get. I like the mismatches he would present with or without Putz and Duke.

I was told that Pope was staying in school, but the link provided elswhere said he was coming out. I think he provides more mismatches with his size and agility.

I really think his agility is a farce. I've seen 4 of his games. he is big with very good hands, but I don't think he has the athleticism for our offense. He'll be a good TE in the league, but for the routes we often ask the TEs to run I don't think he's a good fit for us. JMHO.
