"This award is a relatively new one - reflecting the uniquely batty voice of Michelle Malkin, defender of Japanese internment in the Second World War, and far and away the break-out star of the hard right blogosphere in the past year. The award is for hyperbolic, divisive, mean-spirited, far-right boilerplate, of the kind Malkin produces on an almost hourly basis. The award has largely supplanted the old Derbyshire Award, named after NRO's resident bigot and curmudgeon, John Derbyshire. Compared to Malkin, he's a voice of calm reason."

I can't think of anyone on the OM has hard-right as LABF is hard-left.

Psssst!

Look in the mirror.

You're practically the last BushCo defender still standing on this forum.

In any event, it's long been crystal clear that, from Whigs' whacked perspective, anyone to the left of Grover Norquist is "hard left."

LOL

Judging from the way he likes to toot his own horn about his professional accomplishments, perceived intellectual superiority, moral ascendancy, and all-around exemplary comportment, I'd wager he spends quite a bit of time in front of the mirror.

It's what he's seeing (vs. the reality) that's disturbing. :D

You're practically the last BushCo defender still standing on this forum.

If I was as hard-right as you are hard-left, why would I put up the Malkin Awards?

Explain that.

In any event, it's long been crystal clear that, from Whigs' whacked perspective, anyone to the left of Grover Norquist is "hard left."

Ahhh, no. Any objective observer, noting your breathless approval of Chavez ("VHeadline" as a legitimate source? C'mon!), your endless denunciations of capitalism, your ongoing use of "progressive" op-ed pieces to bolster your hatred of Bush, the fact that about every other recent post has the word "impeachment" in it - all those things, and much more, put you far to the Left.

Heck, you didn't even notice when one of your "progressive" op-ed pieces trashed Hillary Clinton.

Quotes

"Many of my Republican friends joined in that hearing [Clinton impeachment] and insisted that this was a matter of defending the rule of law, and had nothing to do with political antagonism. I'm surprised that many of those same voices are silent. The crime in this case was a knowing and premeditated act.
This operation violated not just the federal statute but the Constitution. For Republicans to suggest that this is not a legitimate question of federal crimes makes a mockery of their position during the Clinton period. For Republicans, this is the ultimate test of principle. We have finally reached the constitutional Rubicon. If Congress cannot stand firm against the open violation of
ederal law by the president, then we have truly become an autocracy."

- Jonathan Turley, Clinton-hating bastard telling the truth this time

LABF is radically anti-Bush (which many people are).

I truly doubt very many people are as rabidly, obsessively anti-Bush as LABF. Toss in his far-left radicalism, and LABF would find that his views resonate with a miniscule percentage of the American citizenry. He spouts the populist line, but he's deluding himself.

Errant is radically anti-Left anything.

I don't pay much attention to Errand - his posting volume here is so low he's easily overlooked.

Those are left-wing extremists like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy talking. Anything short of full-blown socialism for them is "right-wing". And as far as the Clintons go, the truly scary, socialist extremist is a senator from my home state of NY. And as for Bush never meeting a spending bill he didn't like-that tends to happen when there is a war on. The problem with left wingers is, you don't take the time to research things, you rely on mainstream media and celebrities to prepackage and provide your opinions to you. You still don't understand that you're not getting all the information available. Is Fox News just as bad at spinning the right-wing viewpoint? Sure-that's why I read EVERYTHING and come to my own conclusions. I was indctrinated by liberal parents and teachers(as are you all) and took everything they said as gospel(as do many of you still). I know Republicans are no better, just different view points-I think all politicians are liars and crooks, and would rather MY liar and crook be in office than your liar and crook. I just find it amusing that Democrats are naive enough to still beleive their guys are the "good guys".

Looks like somebody has been getting his "facts" from Rehab Rush and Faux News (as opposed to, say, actually researching Hillary's voting record, positions on issues, etc.)

And as for Bush never meeting a spending bill he didn't like-that tends to happen when there is a war on.

This claim presumes that the only spending bills that have come accross Dim Son's desk in the past five years are war-related.

Such is obviously not the case.

(To say nothing to the extent to which Dim has used the "war on terra'" as cover for anything and everything in creating bigger government and dizzying borrowing and spending.)

The problem with left wingers is, you don't take the time to research things, you rely on mainstream media and celebrities to prepackage and provide your opinions to you.

I find your amusement amusing - particularly in light of the fact that, when compared to the current conga line of crooks who comprise today's GOP, the Dems are altar boys.

This is the sort of elitist, "we're the good guys" crap I'm talking about. It's guys like you who pushed me to the right. You're so convinced that you're so much smarter that anyone who doesn't share your views that we all must be ignorant sheep and hicks. As I said, I'm a cynic-I already came to terms with the fact that ALL politicians are swine, but if you want to keep deluding yourself that the Dems are any better, well...you're beyond help. Being that America is a free country, I don't even have an issue with you continually wrong on most issues-that's your right. I DO object to having only one viewpoint represented in our schools, so that only your side is heard, and anyone who doesn't agree must be an extremist, religious fanatic gun nut.
It's boiled down to the fact that the Dim-o-rats have become what they've always claimed to hate. Intolerant, belligerent, small-minding fanatics who have no new ideas, so character assasination and aspersions are all you can come up with. Rhetoric and bluster..is that the best you can come up with? Having been on both sides of the spectrum politically, I can at least see the positive aspects of both sides, but it seems from your blog rants and posts here, that you have absolutley zero clue about the other side-just what you've been told to think by your leftist masters.

More of the usual "attack the messenger and pretend you've discredited the message" we've come to expect from the far-right.

I guess writing someone off as "elitist" is one way to avoid the task of actually refuting his arguments and/or discrediting his facts.

As I said, I'm a cynic-I already came to terms with the fact that ALL politicians are swine, but if you want to keep deluding yourself that the Dems are any better, well...you're beyond help.

No 'deluding' required - all you have to do is take a look at Washington.

As I said, the current conga line of GOP crooks makes the Dems look like altar boys by comparison.

You'd have to be living in a cave right now not to be aware of this.

Also, your party's history of actual criminal convictions outstrips the Dems by several miles.

Being that America is a free country, I don't even have an issue with you continually wrong on most issues-that's your right. All of the above is pure projection and a typical far-right tactic:

Accuse your opponent of doing the very things you are in fact doing yourself.

If you wanted to find a valid and accurate criticism that would actually stick, you would accuse the Dems of being spineless weenies who are afraid to act like an opposition party and who continually roll over for BushCo's anti-democracy/pro-corporatocracy agenda.

I can tell you now, that both sides are guilty of the"accusing the other side of what they are doing" trick. It is, a far-right AND a far-left tactic. Unfortunately, it's the old "politics as usual" game. Projection goes both ways as well..I seem to remember recently reading that Janeane Garafalo accused Republicans of having "anger issues"..This is funny coming from a woman who can't discuss the current administration without frothing at the mouth and spewing invectives. The only hope I have is that we, in this country can find some kind of common ground and stop villifying and demonizing of each other, another thing both sides, including myself are guilty of. We tend to get defensive when questioned about things that are important to us. What we should be concentrating on is common enemies(like terrorists, Raiders, etc...)
BTW, I know many people have the opinion that President Bush is a moron, stupid, etc..but it's important to remember that if someone followed us around 20 hours a day recording everything we said and did, even the smartest of us could be made to look stupid(especially when that
s the objective by some media types).

As for "anger issues," if you (or I) are not angry about what you see happening to our country right now - regardless of your party affiliation - then you're emotionally dead.
