Take it to a dry cleaner if you want to keep it in the best shape. Washers will tend to unravel a few threads when you wash it. Especially the numbers. They seem to look worst the quickest.
But if that is too expensive, maybe you should wash it by itself, inside out on small load. But the washer will be hard on it. But let it hang dry. DEFINATELY NO DRYER!!
But hey, the players dont last that long anyway. Whatever jersey you have, the player will probably be on another team in the next few years. I hate that about free agency.

I've put authentic jersies in the washer and they seem to hold up pretty well. I always let them drip dry, though.

I've washed my Meck jersey over 30 times now. It's still holding up well. Use to drip dry it which is probably the best choice but for the sake of time I now just toss it in the dryer and it's still ok.

When I launder my jerseys, I turn it inside out, then air dry...not as hard on the lettering that way

You can put it on the delicate cycle, about the same as hand washing. I hang dry them.

Don't have one, but dry cleaning isn't really nesessary IMO...hand wash or delicate cycle, and hang dry. It's not like the thing is going to be dirty, unless you fell down or spilled spagetti on it...beer will wash right out...and sweat as well...takes just a few minutes to hand wash with wollite and rinse well and hang dry and it should be fine, I understand they are expensive...too expensive IMO, but if you have a woman...let her handle the thing...if not...read the union label....*starts singing*

Seeing you in the Meck jersey is almost as synonymous as seeing Gilligan in his red shirt or Fred Flintstone in his orange and black Prehistoric Toga.
You ever get stains on that thing? I've never seen any food stains on the Meck jersey.

You haven't looked close enough. Most of the BBQ stuff comes out but I picked one up in Buffalo that might be permanent...lol An omaner Chadata I think his name is brought some insanely hot meatballs. Got a couple drips on it and we joked about it at the time that they wouldn't come out. Maybe aftar a few more washes they will.....
Somewhere along the way I picked up a flying coal or something that burned a hole right thru the middle on the front. Just a small hole. Major wear on the back sides of the jersey but I have to give Mitchell and Ness props. They make a tough jersey. Infact they found my OF1 website and wanted to put a banner up. I refused as all my links are either football related (clubs, tailgating or charities). I don't want to go down the corporate path with it.
I think I could honestly say I've beaten a Mitchell and Ness jersey more than most owners of one. They definetly are quality.
Since mine are autographed they go to the dry cleaners.

lol..thx Mock I think. I have a fake that I bought in Canton but I only wore it a few times. I like the beat up one I got. I'll wear it til it falls apart. I think has several more years of life left in it.

Speaking of authentic jerseys..... I'm thinking of buying a Pryce or Lepsis jersey, but they're not on that Broncos site. Where can I go to get customized jerseys? (name, color, number)
I was actually thinking about a throwback with Lepsis or Pryce (they wore that jersey in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day '01 or '02)
But obviously it doesn't matter which one I want - if I can't actually get it.
____
Plus, I need some advice from everybody (although such a request has 'disaster' written all over it) . . . I like Pryce and Lepsis equally, but Lepsis might bolt, and I do NOT wanna be one of those guys with "Brian Griese" or "Clinton Portis" jerseys . . . should I risk it? It's $229!

Teamstore, NFLShop, Fogdog and Dick's Sporting Goods are just a few places where you can get authentic customized jerseys (for some reason, the Broncos are not offering them anymore on their Broncos Store website)....occasionaly, there will be sales on them.....I'd wait for one of those because you'll be paying $220 -$250 otherwise. Keep in mind also that these things, like the replicas, seem to go up in price by about 20 smacks every year.
You can risk spending the big bucks on a player if you choose, but I finally got sick of that whole thing and figured that if I was going to lay serious money for one of these things down, then my own name was gonna go on it. The advantages of that are easy...the jersey will never go out of style (since it's not a player, no risk in having the player leave) and it solves the whole nametag issue at the tailgates quite nicely......I'm real easy to find now at one of these things.
If you do splurge on a player and the player leaves, you can check these sites for nameplate and number replacements:
http://www.exclusivepro.com/
http://www.authenticlettering.com/
They were posted by someone else on here and I haven't tried them....but I did bookmark the sites for future reference....just in case. So if you have an old Griese or Portis, you could try to update them into a Devoe & Bell, if you desire to do so.
Oh and you can forget about a customizable throwback...they're not offered anywhere in the world that I know of. I used to know a guy in the Phillipines who said he could do them, but he always screwed up something on it (number font, correct nameplate lettering style, etc.) If you do come across some site that'll do those however, by all means, lemme know.
