It's late and I'm dead tired, but on Sportscenter they said that NE could still get the #3 seed over Cinci if NE wins out and the Bengals lose. That means we'd get NE if they win their first round game against the Steelers (sorry chefs).
Of course, ESPN was mentioning this because a #3 seed would mean they could end up facing Indy in the AFC Championship game, rather than a 2nd round game. So sorry we'd have to ruin their plans.
Obviously we have to see how a lot of things shake out, but this isn't such a far-fetched scenario.

You're right! When they speculate on NE/Indy they are pretty much saying that's what they want. Well F "them". All of "those" people. Mark my words, Jacksonville visits Denver for the AFC Championship game. OK, please don't mark that down, but I wouldn't mind. I'm out. Get some sleep 24.

I´d love to be the team to end Belichick´s and Brady´s playoff winning streak at 10 or hopefully 11.
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm sick and tired of hearing about the "Patriots' resurgence" and how they "are back" ... I don't think we've seen the best 4 quarters from our beloved Broncos - yet ... come playoff time, I truly believe the Broncos (and the fans) are going to take it to the next level.

New England will not beat us in Denver. The only concern i have is Pitt and Indy.
NE will be #4 and take out the Colts!
The AFC championship WILL be in Denver.
Get the Tub and OF1 ready! !Booya! ^5 :Broncos:

Funny stat about new england. they are a perfect 6-0 vs teams with losing records. 3-5 vs teams with winning records...in the playoffs, most of those teams have winning records...but hey, espn and the nfl want a colts-patriots afc champ. game. would be so sad if denver wrecked that party.

It doesn't matter who comes to Denver, period.
I would love to see Denver dispatch the Colts of course, but the team I'd really love to see Denver beat down ruthlessly is Cincinnati. Now from time to time, I detect some love for the Bengals around here...be it the antics of Goldmouth or the coaching of Lewis or the QB play of Palmer or just loving an underdog coming back from years of bottom feeding. Whatever it is, I don't get it at all......what I see is a rising power and a serious threat to where Denver needs to go not only right in the here and now, but for many years to come. They need a serious setback, a vicious beatdown and their spirit broken.....IMO the sooner, the better.

Meh, Denver can beat the Bungels. Indy is still the team i hate the worst and would love to crush THEIR spirit. If Indy doesnt make the Super Bowl this year it will be a total meltdown over there and i will be smiling bigtime. :)

I don't say bring N.E. on. Not because I doubt we would beat them but I would like to see them play Indy. Anything to keep us out of that dome. I believe the Pats would have a better chance of knoking out Indy in thier dome than Denver would.

That is why the Colts are the only serious threat to Denver, because the game would be played on the road.
Hopefully the team that has the most chance of beating Indy will be the no.4 seed.
I think that team is probably NE.

And hopefully Cincy, if they end up at #3, take care of the Steelers or Chiefs in the Wildcard round.
NE is going to be a tough out but like it or not, we are going to have to play some tough teams on the way to the super bowl if we are to make it there. Pitt is getting red hot right now, just like the Pats. Either team is going to provide a handful for the Broncos and Colts depending on whom plays who. I think we have a better matchup against the Pats but you never want to play with fire and that is exactly what Tom Brady is in clutch situations. I would love to see him get another chance at Peyton Manning. Who knows though... I just hope whoever we get, we come out and play Broncos football on our home field. WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE! Let the chips fall where they may and we'll cross the Indy bridge when we have to.

All the potential opponents in the AFC worry me but there are two scenarios at play regarding a visit here by the Patriots. Either the Pats can move up to the #3 seed by winning out and the Bengals losing which is entirely possible since the Bengals must end the season in KC where the Chiefs will be fired up after Vermeil gives a tearful "I'm retiring" speech before they hit the field.
The second scenario that brings the Pats here is if the Bengals get the #3 seed but lose in the wild card round (likely Pittsburgh) and the Pats win. Then the wild card travels to Indy and we get the Patriots since the deck reshuffles after each round so the highest seed always plays the lowest seed.
Of teams I'd like to see us face in the postseason (in order of weakest):
Jacksonville
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
New England
Indianapolis
Obviously, we won't see the Colts in the first round so, in a sense, I do want us to play them simply because that means we've won the first game.
I wonder how loud it would be if Denver was to host the AFC title game instead of Indy?
You guys better be screaming, even on commercial breaks and halftime.
Denver shouldnt even have to show up.
The 12th man should win that game by itself.

The fans are coming around. It's taken a long time before fans have returned to their old "raucous Mile High" selves. One reason why the new stadium is not as loud is because old Mile High was a more compact stadium that kept noise in. The new Mile High is less compact, so to generate the same amount of noise as old Mile High requires a much better effort from fans. I guarantee fans will be up to the task for the first playoff game ever at Invesco.
