It just makes this extra sweet...
I know we still have our work cut out for us but practically every preseason football magazine picked us as at the bottom half of the division...
All offseason I had to hear people criticize Shanahan's offseason moves...
All the jokes about "BROWNCOS"
All the jokes about taking Jerry Rice
All the criticism about taking Mo Clarrett
All the overwelming criticisms of Jake Plummer
All the "Champ is overrated" crap
All the crap we got about taking 3 corners with our first 3 picks
Well people guess what...all that = AFC West champs with #2 seed and first round bye....SCOREBOARD!
All the "experts" and all the charger/chief/raider fans can eat crow....once again...SCOREBOARD!rofl2.gif" border="0" alt="" title="ROFL2" smilieid="110" class="inlineimg" /> :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos: :Broncos:

I called Sean Salisbury on ESPN radio during Fourth of July weekend and he cut me off on national airwaves saying, "The Cleveland Browns defensive line isn't going to get the job done. Mike Shanahan is a horrible GM. Denver is competing for the AFC West basement" Blah Blah Blah Blah
John Clayton agreed with Sean so he was a hater, too.

Enjoy it, its about as valuable as the Chiefs '03 division title.
Not very.
You deserve it but the way you read this thread you would have thought you guys had won a playoff game already.
You have been down the "great regular season" road before...guess we will see if you can make something happen with it this time.

Well, it is cause for some celebration Zach. its our first Home playoff game since 98' and we do fair much better at home than on the road especially this year. Come on man, give us some props at least. :)

Thanks for eliminating the Chargers and allowing us to get healthy the next three weeks Zach. Denver has never been healthy the last three Playoff games with major guys out. Now, even Darrent Williams should be ready to go in three weeks or so. A healthy backfield gives a great shot to advance and get deep into the playoffs.
Oh, and Denver does much better than the Chiefs at home in the playoffs ;D

Just because Zach's team layed a dump as divisional champs as well as SD last year, doesn't mean we have to.
Neither got a bye...
And BTW....I was also one of the few that actually liked out FA signings...true, we are not getting enough pass rush, but I think our shot at @2 is alot better than 3.
Those frustrated thugs were doing everything to injure us, and the refs ingnored it! I couldn't believe it....especially after the came was basically over...that was a disgrace by Oakland....

The criticism hasn't stopped. i was listening to ESPN radio on my way back from a family gathering and Sean Salisbury was saying "if Seattle doesn't sign Shaun Alexander long term, they are the dumbest franchise in the NFL". The other host said, "yeah well Seattle has a boatload of money tied to Walter Jones and Hasslebeck. They also have Steve Hutchinson to resign and their O-Line is damn good. Maybe they should take the Denver Broncos approach and get a decent RB and spend money elswhere".
To that, Salsbury said, "what's that, a loser franchise that loses in the playoffs every year"?
The other host said "They have had great success with the system backs". Salisbury says "The havent won since John Elway and they'll be lucky to win 1 playoff game this year".
I didn't hear the rest as I turned the station. The disrespect is alive and well!

so I guess having the #2 seed and ending up 13-3 ( ) isn't good enough for the steak man
I guess only winning the games isn't good enough, we aren't winning "with style"

I guess. Afterall, Salisbury won a ton of meaningful games in his career. Whenever there is a list of the best QB's of all time, Salisbury is always amongst the that list. Don't you think he is one of the most clutch QB's in huge games of all time?hmmm...

To paraphrase Those who can do, those who can't coach, those who never could become radio talk show hosts and talk trash. That pretty much explains Salisbury.

Forget the 13-3 record, Denver just isn't "entertaining" enough to garner any ESPN favor.....of course, I love this.

Well, considering he trashed Shanny for his off-season work, it is not surprising.
Looking at the link I didn't realize that I stated we could finish 13-3 if the Raiders and KC falter. Not bad. It is also nice to see I had faith in the RZ, they certainly did not start that way.

i miss the days when bronco fans only wanted to argue with fans of OTHER teams instead of with eachother.
what a friggin travesty that we older fans have to defend the team against the younger generation of socalled fans.
