Nice, Dom! Will the media finally quit talking about them? Their vaunted offense scored 7 against KC in a must-win game. Way to step up there. I think KC is also out of it since Jax and Pittsburgh won, and we don't need help from them for ****. What a nice day (assuming we don't fall apart here)

Brees fell apart for them. Over throws Int. in the redzone.

I think we can all agree that there will never be another 6 loss team of the caliber that these San Diego Chargers are.

Finally, Ding-Dong the Chargers are DEAD.
I was so freaking tired of how the media, especially those that think they know something, said how they were the second best team and blah, blah, blah.
You know what, they didnt win the close games.
See ya'll next week when Denver plays its backups and see ya'll next year.

well ive been saying that for the past few weeks that chuggers were overrated.but nobody would listen and gave them more credit than they deserve cause in the end who did they really beat this year besides a colt team in a meaningless game.

They've switched to being Colts fans now. But they're keeping their options open, just in case the Colts don't win the Super Bowl.

I'm sure that the talking heads will continue to talk about the bolts and what a great team they are, and how it was bad luck and a bad schedule and the positioning of the stars that kept the bolts from winning. Marty chokes again. Isn't that becoming a theme by now? Everyone will continue to kiss Marty's ass, and he's been to how many Superbowls? Oh right that would be 0.

What a waste of talent. Can you imagine what Shanahan would do with LT and Gates? We would be undefeated.

I've been saying this all year. The Chargers make too many mistakes and they are terrible in close games. That was their downfall. However, the almighty media loves to hype them because of Gates and LT. Since when do 2 players make a team?
I wouldn't get rid of Rivers just yet. I'm still not sold on Brees. He has to compensate for his size by throwing the ball high and it leads to a lot of deflections and picks. Fine by me though, I hope they go down the drain. As always, every 10 years the chargers are that little pest from the AFC west

Marty's the guy you want to take a garbage team and teach it how to become a respectable team. He's a good coach who builds good teams, but greatness has always been beyond his own reach and beyond the reach of the teams he's built.
Damned shame from my point of view. I'll always respect Marty's body of work.

Lot of lower lips hanging out in the media today because of this...
They'll just blame it on Marty for the Gates suspensions at the beginning of the year....it's totally predictable.

Salisbury was going on about how SD is still the best 6 loss team he's seen, but because they weren't able to find ways to win more games, they can't be considered a great team. Then seconds later he referred to them as a great team. He tried to come down on them because the bottom line is they'll be watching the playoffs, but he still mixed in his ass-kissing.
Also, why are they so sure they're only a 6 loss team? Our reserves are going to make them a 7 loss team.
One more thing. Isn't there a reason every stadium has a huge SCOREBOARD? Should we just remove that annoying thing since it distracts us from our Bolt worship?

Ya.. that Salisbury thing last night was a riot. 'They're not great.. but they're really.. GREAT. I love them. I think we should reorganize the playoffs and give the Chargers a spot. Powder blue'

Can't blame their finish on the schedule, because what was arguably the toughest games they had, what, 5 games on the East coast and going to Indy, and they were 5-1 in those.
How they do that and lose 3 at home is the head scratcher . . .
The Big E
12-25-2005, 10:06 AM
Their schedule was tougher than ours, but we played almost the identical teams, and ours was one of the more difficult in the league. We played the tougher teams at home, but still went undefeated at home. The only difference was that they played at Indy, we played at Jax. They played at home v. Pittsburgh, we played Baltimore. And yet we're three games ahead of them.

To be honest when the Browns fired Marty I thought it was a very stupid move on their part, and when he went to kc that really worried me. I respected marty until it started coming out about him offering to pay fines for players that went out to cheapshot Bronco players including Elway. I can understand not allowing something said in the heat of the moment define a career, but that was too far for me. Sending players out to injure the other team smacks of raider football to me. After that I enjoy watching marty's teams choke.

I was watching CNN headline news last night and the commentator said "San Diego is probably the second best team in the league, but they are not going to the playoffs."
Good grief.

It all comes down to coaching. Marty might have a good regular season average but he never gets it done when it needs to count. NEVER. Until NFL owners realize this the sooner the better.

I can name 2 teams in the NFC with 6 losses better than the chargers. Right now, the Cowboys and Redskins would both destroy the chargers. I'm sorry but this team is nowhere near the best 6 loss team in the history of the NFL. It just shows how ignorant the media is. Heck, even Philly is better than SD if you take away all those injuries. Just because they match up well against the Colts does not mean they are the best team.
List of teams better than SD (some even with worse records):
Denver
KC (when at home)
Cincy
Indy(although a bad matchup for them)
Chicago
NE
Pitt
Dallas
Washington
Philly(like i said when healthy)
That's a lot of teams that would kill the "2nd best team in the NFL" I'm not going to count the Giants or Seattle, but they are POTENTIALLY better than SD. I know they beat KC, Washington, Indy each once, but those teams would destroy SD more often than not.

Tommy Jackson on ESPN said it right "you are what you are" to the Chugger hype.
Question though: do you sit MA and Jake and Rod and Al for the Chugger game now? and thus let them win? We lose any of those guys and the playoffs will be very short.
