As luck would have it I've got two teams playing for FFL championships this weekend. On one of the teams, Stephen Jackson is the main RB and my choice for second RB is either Tatum or .... drumroll... Ricky Williams :-).
Dont laugh, if Williams starts he might do pretty well against Tennessee based on recent weeks.
My inclination is to go with the homeboy, even in his backup role, as I can see Tatum busting some big ones vs. Chokeland too, assuming we give him the rock 12+ times.
Suggestions welcomed on who to start as #2 RB for all the marbles ... Tater as backup, or Reefer-Madness if he starts?
I'm also leaning toward sitting Payton Manning in favor of Jake Delhomme simply on the odds that Manning isn't going to see much playing time.
Final toss up is starting our Rod #80 as #2 WR along with #1 Chad Johnson, and sit TJ Hoshmanzadeh. Decisions decisions!

You can't very well start both bengals vs a poor run D. Housh might be the better play than johnson, as the bills rank a sour 24th against 2 wrs. mind you, it IS chad johnson, so...
I have bell and anderson on my team, and I'm racking my brain trying to figure out who's gonna see more action. Oakland is awful stuffing the run(checkmark for MA) and top 10 against giving up long gains(uh-oh for bell), and yet I can't shake the notion of shanahan trying to get tatum and mike both over 1,000.
if you'd be kind enough to help me(there's $750 riding on this), I can't decide between the following:
qb[1 of 3]: mccown/bouman/carr/b johnson
wr[2 of 4]: boldin/rod smith/chris chambers/housh

I say you go with Williams. :puff: Brown is probably out, so Ricky will get the carries. I'd go with Chad, but TJ is a solid option.

IMO, I'd probably go McCown because all they do is throw, and he did have some huge games earlier this year. That's a lukewarm opinion.
At WR, definitely Boldin, and probably Chambers, who has been on fire.
My turn.
wr: (need 2) Boldin, Steve Smith, Chad.
I've been playing Boldin over Chad lately, and it's been the better call. Boldin has been kicking butt the last 6 weeks.
My RBs are Alexander and diaper boy, so there should be no way I lose, but you never know.

I'd hesitate on boldin since he only caught 2 after warner left, but philly ranks 31st against #1 WRs, so he's probably worth a look over chad johnson---he might score, yes, but I don't see them needing to throw too often.
It's hard to bench smith.

If the opportunity to rest someone in a blow out would ever come up it would be this week at home. The starter that without any doubt that we could rest would be Anderson, and Tater needs the game experience the more we get to the playoffs so hell yeah he is going to play a lot and against the Faiders he will play well!!!!!!

Thanks. The AZ QB situation is the x-factor, and probably a good reason to go with the known. I still believe Boldin will likely have a good game, but I guess I'm stuck with Smith and Chad.

If we get an early lead, I could see us doing a heavy dose of Tater and Dayne to give MA's legs some rest.
That's what has me leaning toward Tater, that and familial loyality :-), but if Williams is starting he's bound to get some yards and scores against the Titans.
Both the teams I'm playing for the Championship in each league are better stocked than my teams, so its gonna take some pixie dust to pull out at least one title out of the two.
Too bad Manning is likely to take the day mostly off, I'd much rather go with him than Delhomme but Jake might be good for 20 points in a good day at Dallas which then need to try and grab the #2 seed in the NFC.
My other team's QB is Hasselback and I'm expecting him to be hot manana. I've got Diaper Boy and Stephen Jackson RBs for that squad, so as long as Jackson is ready to play full out at SF I should get some decent points between the two.
I'll problably roll the dice tommorrow morning.
I would go with Boldin and Chad Big E. Cicny is playign eth BIlls in Cincy and though I would LOVE to see teh Bills pull an upset, Chad has already bragged about his special raindeer TD dance he's got planned and I'm sure they are going to try and light up the Bills the way we ere throwing on them last week.
Thanks for thefeedback guys

You could do a lot worse than being stuck with Steve Smith and CJ Big E! I wouldnt exactly call that 'stuck' :-)

That's true. I really can't make a bad decision with any of my receivers. It's hard to make some of these choices when it's for all the marbles. I've been destroying everyone so I'm the favorite.
If you're the underdog, I think you have to take some chances, and in that case Bell probably has more upside than ganja boy. Tough call when you don't really know how many carries to expect (and why Shanahan drives FF people crazy), but you made some good points that if we get a lead, I think we will absolutely rest MA as much as possible.
A buddy of mine is one of the owners and writers on rotowire.com, and does the weekly value ratings. I'll head over there and see if I can find any worthwhile info for you.

OK, Hula, not much commentary over at that site. For your #2 WR, they have Rod ranked #11 this week, and TJ #17, and noted he injured his ankle last week but is still probable. I'm with Lid and would probably avoid using both Bengals receivers. Ricky was ranked around 20th and Tatum around 40th for the week.
Lid: If you care, this site had Boldin at #3, Chambers at #6. I think Tennessee has given 29 passing TD's or something ridiculous. Also, they had McCown at #6 for the week, Johnson #11, Boumann at #14.
Good luck!

Any advice for my No 2? I have Ward starting, then the choices are Joe Jurevicius, Moss, Brandon Lloyd or Bobby Engram.
Garrard or Plummer at QB?

thanks for the rotowire stuff, I was leaning towards smith over boldin but i might as well rest my luck on both mccown and him.
Dagmar: I'd advise against starting ward--bodden has been totally shutting opposing #1 WRs down since he's been in(cleveland ranks 6th best against #1s this year, and that's been steadily climbing since bodden got the job fulltime). I'd lean towards moss and engram/jurevicious. i can see ward having another 4 for 36 kind of game.
Of course, it's hard to bench the reliable, so I dunno, and I guess the seahawks wrs are iffy in the same sense, although playing against 2nd stringers.

I'd go with Plummer. He won't kill you, and this week has the potential to have a big week. Garrard hasn't done that much, even against weak competition.
If you mean Santana Moss, he's the obvious choice. If you mean the second-tier Moss, I'd go with one of the Seahawks. Which one, I don't know. If Darrell Jackson is out, which appears likely, the value of both of those guys goes up. Seattle is also playing for a lot more than the Colts, and the Colts have a lot of guys out on defense.

Shanny has always tried to do right by players. If the Broncos are winning comfortably Bell might get a significant amount of carries to get him over 1,000 yards. He is a little over 200 away.

Thanks again Big E and L I'm tryingto see if Ricky is starting, looks like he might, but I'm still leaning toward Bell and have him in the saddle.
Got about 25 minutes to make a change.
Stephen Jackson practiced finally yesteday for SL and I stil have him in there only becuase its agaisnt San Fran, but I have half a ming to roll the dice and put Ricky against the Titans and Bell in as the RBs if Ricky is starting for sure.
And Dagmar I would go with Jurivivuos excpet that with DJ back hes is getting less opportunities, though agasint teh Colts depleted D this week he still might get some TDS as they like his big body to the end zone in the red zone. ITs a risk though as he might not get but 3 or 4 balls.

while that sounds borderline sacrilige and poking fun at catholicism, I'm not even joking. i honestly do this.

OK Guys here is wthe mnoring report on Ricky and Steven JAckson so I'm rolling the dice and goin wit hRicky and Tatum. I suspect SJ wont be at full power with only one practice and a sore hip pointer and might not get more than a few series worth as they say.
Ricky IS starting and thats a better bet and I've still got Tater in for a home run prayer.
The only other toss up is between Benm aTroupe at TE vs. our Putz. Triupe has put up better number s consstenty the past month or so and shoudl figure prominatly agaisnt Miamis D as they will likely want to get the ball off quickly with Miamis rush. Stil Putz should have a big day agianst Cokeland but his FF numbers suck overall . Any last minute insgihts on this one? I've got 12 mintus so its gotta be quick :-)

THis is my secon d team playing for teh chamipionship in another league this weekend. The only last minute question of Joe Jurivicous vs. David Givens.
I've got two Seattle players active in MAtt and Stevens at TE , Agaisnt the Colts Joe could have an impact IF they play him enough.
Givnes goign agaisnt JEts tougher pass D but I think he might get more chances than Joe.

Hey Lidderer and Big E.
Many thanks for the suggestions. And congrats L!
My first team Hawaii Broncos did win the championship today for the 'Bronco fans 4 life' league ( at NFL.com) My team was a 20+ point underdog and still won 102-80!
My second team, 'Pacific Pugs' in the 'Broncos Super Bowl Bound" league is still up in the air. The Pugs are all done with a final score of 99 and my opponent KC Krew who is 15-0 and undefeated this year and a +27 point favorite, is currently 81 but he has one more big play in the Chicago Bears defense against lowly Green Bay tommorrow so I suspect I'll lose a close one there as the Bears are sure to put up more than 18 points against Favre and GB if he tosses his usual 4 to 5 INTs. :-)
However, if the Pacific Pugs hadn't switched from Stephen Jackson to Ricky Williams at the last minute I wouldnt even have a chance in the second league. I just picked up Ricky earlier in the week which was good luck.
Its still possible to come up with two championships out of two teams, but one out of two isn't bad, and is a nice topping on the Xmas present the real boys gave us today!
By the way, do we get anything other gtahn bragging rights like an email notice or certificate for winning a FF championship? :-)

I benched Chad and played Boldin (ok) and Steve Smith (ouch). Still I am the winner unless Tom Brady throws for 600 yards and 7 TD's. And even then, I might still win. Good thing too, because I already spent the money on a xmas present for the old lady.
Good results for all, boys. Hula, I hope you can pull off the 2nd championship as well.

Thanks Big E,
All I ned is for teh Bears D not to score more than 18 points (18 and it is a tie so no more than 17 points) . Problem is that in 9 games out of 15 so far they have scored 18 or more and against GB I doubt I have much of a chacne but we'll see . As long as Favre doenst trhwo 3+ INTs and GB can score at least 10 on them maybe the cards will fall my way.
If I do some how pull it out with hte 18 point cushion I have now it will be msotly dsue to switching to Ricky Williams at teh last minute. Ben Troupe totally died on me and had 0 points from the TE position while my opponent had 11 points from his TE. Putz would have helped more than that.
At NFL.com it seems that what you get for winning a league championship is an offer to buy a championship T-shirt ifor $15.00 :-) as that is what is posted on my team page now after winning one of the leagues today.

At least you have a reason to watch GB-Chicago. I still like your chances there.
Steve Smith didn't cost me, but I bet there are a lot of FF players who are pissed that he got himself tossed out of the game. Not to mention the Carolina fans.
