I guess the top Christmas Eve Broncos memory would have to be the 1977 Divisional Playoff victory over Pittsburgh. Those gifts from Mom and Dad were even better the next morning because of that victory the day before. Man it was just an awesome feeling for this 12 year old.

Signs that said, "Have a Merry Orange Crushmas" were all around the stadium. "The Big Orange - How Sweet It Is".

But since we play the Faid tomorrow I have to harken back to Christmas Eve 1995. Old Man Vince Evans leads the Raiders to a 28-17 lead but Elway works his magic.

Eddie Mac makes a gorgeous one handed, behind his body, falling TD reception and Elway runs in the 2 pointer on the QB draw. Aaron Craver, of all people, goes for 100 yards on the day as well. At the beginning of the season our TB depth chart was:

TD
Bernstine
Milburn
Craver - who also started at FB

But since TD mangled his hammy in the Astrodome, and Shanny whacked Bernstine after week 3, and Milburn got banged up, Shanny was down to running Craver out of single back sets.

The victory only made Denver 8-8, but I remember feeling so freaking pumped after the game. The Raiders were eliminated from the playoffs as our win, let Danny Boy Marino, and the Fins into the dance.

Merry Christmas Al!! Here's a lump of Orange Coal for ya.

10 years later; let's kick their ***!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Always a pleasure to read one of your historical posts. Thanks B-love.

We always struggle to figure out what to put on on our old school Crush sign for each tailgate.

I know what to put on it tomorrow. "Have a Merry Orange Crushmas" it is!

I remember both of those games......1977 was one of my fave years all the way around, beating The Steelers and moving on to face the Fade was sweet.

I always kinda liked Aaron Craver....you're so right B, there's not much that beats knocking the Fade out of the playoff picture.

My dad almost got fired from his job because his boss would not give him the day off for this game. He went to the game anyway. Needless to say his boss was not happy.

Thanks to B-Love I have been able to let my dad watch this game to relive some good, and not so good memories

Speaking of that, B-Love, where is the latest batch bro? Let me know.

Thanks for bringing up great memories once again.

I was so pumped that our Broncos finally swept the Raiders! Before 1995, Denver hadn't swept them since 1987. We have all been numbed by Mike Shanahan's dominance versus the Raiders, but ten years ago, sweeping them was a major deal to me. It still is a big deal, but it meant more back then.

In fact, I have always loved the 1999 6-10 Broncos because they swept the Raiders!

Eh, I wasn't quite 1 year old yet for that.

This game I do remember and what I was doing. Like the Broncos, I had had about a .500 year and was just ready to start a new one.

I loved that 95 game. My best friend and I watch the game. He was home from college. He also was/is a big Dolphin fan. That day, that game he was a Broncos fan. I was amazed how Craver just grunted out 100 yards. It was a hard earned 100.

Eddie made that freaking catch with the ball in between his helmet and hand.
That was a sweet win!
