So after seeing atlas's new Avatar & having to think of dead puppies & other sad things for a 1/2 an hour, how can you compare an accomplishment like the drive to a FLUKE play like the Lucky reception? The ball bounced off an O lineman & should not have counted. even if it did it was a lucky bounce & not a designed play.
The Drive should be hanging shown in the Gugenheim it is a true modern work of Art.

I am just Joking man different strokes for different folks. I was working my 1st job in Mainframe Ops & on Christmas day this 30 year old cobol programer (he was nuts anyway) comes in to the computer room with his Fiancee & her her sister. This would have been ok but the "girls" were in their mid-50's & looked like grandma's, the sister had a cane. I had seen pictures of her on his desk & thought it was his mother, though found it strange she was riding on the back of his harley with him. They got married a few months later he wanted to show them where he worked. Very odd indeed...wonder how that ever worked out for him...ick!

I remember both games, (guess that makes me old) The Crazy Bounce was a wild play and it screwed the fade so that was good, and it was very exciting, but it was one play in a pretty boring game.
The Drive, well that was, as others have said, a work of art. One player willing his team to go 98 yards for a shot at overtime and a chance to go the the Superbowl. They will be showing the drive forever on the NFL network.
(the best part of the Immaculate Reception is listening to the fade and their fans complain about it 30+ years later.)

Good point, It is fun to watch the Snake slink off the field after getting screwed on that. But still the Drive should win this one hands down!

The Immaculate Reception far exceeds whatever "The Drive" may have been.
I have no memory of anything called "The Drive." Was it a bus trip after a memorable victory? Did you guys beat the Raiders and then have to make it back to the airport without getting shot or something?

Just watched it again. And our first Superbowl Victory. Man, I could watch that over and over and over again for forever. That game had it all, story after story. That has got to be the very best Superbowl ever played. IMHO, it definitely is. But I am Biased, tho...

I agree. THat first superbowl win is awesome. I have watched it 1,000 times and I imagine I'll watch it a 1,000 more. Hell, I'm going to put it in my VCR now!!

While SBXXXII is definitely one of the all-time best I'd still say the Cowboys-Steelers matchup in XIII was the best SB played to date. With SBXXXII in 2nd place, followed by the 49ers-Bengals matchup in XXIII.
The difference in SBXIII was when a wide open Jackie Smith (lured out of retirement by Tom Landry) dropped a low fast ball in the end zone by Staubach, (despite it being a low throw, it was a very catchable ball) forcing Dallas to settle for a FG. that 4 point swing was the margin of victory in a great 35-31 battle.
BTW, the Denver-Dallas SBXII game is still in the top five all-time watched SB's I believe. Denver turns the ball over like 7 times in the first half....and only trailed 13-3.....another testament to the greatness of the Orange Crush D.
Man, did we miss several opportunities to beat them in that game.
