I made a bet with Baja that I thought was different but ended up being in teams records...
It was for 35 bucks.

I am happy to pay up the bet. Ok maybe not happy....ha.
I propose an idea for the money though...
I would love to donate the money on behalf of Baja to The 37 Forever foundation in honor of Joe Delany. Alot of folks around here know the story but it can't be told enough times.
The foundation is dedicated to giving swim lessons to kids who couldn't afford them otherwise.
You can get a good idea of the man that this is based on from a great column by Rick Reilly from an old SI.

I can provide a paypal receipt for prrof of payment. If you would rather I just give the money to you thats all good as well. You are the winner so it is up to you. No hard feelings either way.

37 Forever is a good cause.
IMO though, if the money were to be donated .... it should be donated to the Mane (maybe pay for Baja's 1st year of "Premium" status if such a move were to be made).
Maybe the 37 forever foundation is a "Better" cause, but it was a Broncos-Chiefs bet and it should either benefit Baja or his preferred message board/charity (if he has one that he likes a lot).

Why not just pay the man...that was what the bet was for in the first place.

Just my opinion, but I think that should have been presented to Baja when the bet was made. Since it wasn't, I think you should just pay him. If it was to go to a charity, I think it should go to a charity of Baja's choice. Not that the 37 Forever Foundation isn't for a good cause, but so is the John Lynch Foundation and many others.

Even tho he was nuts to jump in when he couldn't swim, you can't deny his courage.
I don't have a prblem at all giving to Delaney's foundation if his widow is struggling.
It's a shame noone could reach Tony Dungy's kid....he's got to be devestated...that website was messed up...who knows if Dungy even knew if it existed...he's so into that team....mom should of watched him a little closer...
Oh well...the worst thing you can do is blame yourself..there is no evidence at all about any abuse....the kid was just messed up...Tony's wife shoud of sounded a warning bell. You just go on.
it's amusing, I was so string young I body surfed off Mazetlan and the riptite was astounding....now I would only wade out there...I was in the surf without a board body surfing...I'm a fish, but I don't have the stamina now...my kid passed his 10 foot test at 3! He might of just bobbed around, but he passed it...he's fearless in water like I was. I just don't have the stamina now.

I think it's a cool idea to donate to a charity, but with that said, it does kinda seem like you just don't want to pay baja. Personally, I think you genuinely want to do somethng good with the money during the holiday season, but I'm just saying, that's how you come off.
If baja approves, it's a good deal for everybody involved. You guys' bet is settled and a charity gets some funding. But, perhaps that should have been on the table when the bet was originally made.
Anywho, either way, it'll work itself out.

He said he would pay the bet. He was just offering an alternative solution.
Geez, this is a tough room.
Somehow I doubt baja needs the 35 dollars so bad that he would not agree to this. Its Christmas time, 37 Forever is a good cause and its just an ALTERNATIVE, if baja was so inclined.

Zach, why didn't you just ask Baja about this instead of starting a thread? Just wondering because it almost seems like you wanted to start the thread so Baja would feel heartless if he took your money instead of donating it. That might not have been the reason but that's how it appears, to me anyway.
So far, it looks to me like:
1) Pay Baja (Zach makes donation to 37F with his own $ if he chooses)
2) Make donation to 37F with the money only if Zach matches donation.

I think it's a nice gesture on behalf of Zach, but it's something he should have brought up via PM rather than putting it up so everybody can see it. Baja isn't the modest/influenceable type so it won't be a big deal, but somebody could feel a little obligated, being that this is on the front page with everybody viewing it. One might feel a bit guilty for saying give me the $$$ on this type of forum.
Good though Zach, next time do it in private.

You do make a good point, it probably should have been in PM, all I was saying is that it seems like everyone is ripping on him for what I think...or at least what came off to me anyway, as a genuinely sincere gesture. I know Zach, sometimes he gets on my nerves, but I do not think his intent was to corner baja in a decision.
Just my opinion.
Nor would I, nor anyone else I should think, think less of baja if he took the money and did not choose to donate it. He made a bet and won and the money is rightfully his to do with as he will.
I just do not see any reason to get down on Zach for this, except perhaps to say (psst, Zach, ask him this in PM).

Kind of like most team B-boards... (Chief/Raiders/Broncos, etc suck) they can get pretty hateful...they just discriminate in a different way...and no, I'm not apologizing for them at all, but they just reflect society in general in the way that the keyboard allows them to speak their minds and talk tough with no reprecussions....freedom of speech sucks sometimes but I don't want it to change...it's more fun to read fools and hope they don't get more recruits....a lot of fools in this old world already.

I agree, Zach should have set those terms in the beginning.
