I have looked at the schedule and the games and have went through this game and I just can't see any senario where the Faid wins. I do believe that with their D line they could slow down the running game but unless Plummer has a complete meltdown Denver should be able to move the ball through the air. The Oakland offense is sputtering badly and I really like Denver's defense matching up against Collins.
I was going to say 27-14 but again is Oakland going to be able to get 14 points???

This isn't last years Bronco team and I believe they have learned a valuable lesson in last years game. Saturday they lay the wood to Oakland.

I will always have a hard time down playing any game vs another afc west team. The Raiders could be 0-13 but I still think they will give us a game.

I'm sure at some point you will be happy that you have Moss. That squad will be dangerous if they can tighten up their coaching situation and get on the same page.

Seeing as though it's a divisional game, I can see the Raiders briefly showing signs of life against us, but not much more. They hardly worry me right now.

35-13.

Realistically, 23-13.

Offense will have several good series getting 160+ yards and two TD's, and then sputter late as usual. Same thing with the defense giving up 100 yards and a TD late with nothing on the line. I swear the way these guys have played fits this formula almost every week.

I'm worried it will be a 17-14 game and I can't put a finger on the winner. Oakland needs to accomplish something this year and being 7-0 at home has this game pinned as the home game we forget to play hard for 60 minutes and lose. I'm hoping that game was sopposed to be the ravens game untill boller turned it on.

But I'm always pestimistic againist AFCw teams.

Loss to Raiders is 2004-gotten
Broncos not dwelling on meltdown in snow

By Jeff Legwold, Rocky Mountain News

ENGLEWOOD - What happens in '04 stays in '04.
And with the Oakland Raiders making a holiday visit and Denver looking for a little playoff jackpot, 2004 is exactly where the Broncos would like to keep the teams' previous late-season meeting.

"Last year was last year," Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey said. "Whatever happened last year was last year. We've got a new team, this is a new situation and that's what matters. We want to leave the rest behind."

It's no wonder. The Raiders are the most recent team to beat the Broncos at home, 25-24 in a snowstorm last November.

It was a game the Broncos led 24-13 in the fourth quarter but failed to close the deal. A game in which former Broncos running back Reu- ben Droughns fumbled twice, in which the Broncos didn't convert a third-and-1 with 4 minutes, 40 seconds to play that would have kept the ball from the Raiders.

A game in which the Raiders blocked a 43-yard field-goal attempt by Jason Elam with 31 seconds to play that would have won the game.

"I'll never forget that," Broncos safety John Lynch said. "It was one of the most disappointing games I've ever played in. I think we were up 11 points with 8 minutes to go and lose at home. So that's fresh in our minds."

The loss, one of two by the Broncos at Invesco Field at Mile High in 2004, also effectively put them on the road for the playoffs, a route that ended with a crushing defeat in Indianapolis in a wild-card game.

And this season, the stakes are a little higher for the Broncos. The Raiders visit Saturday (2:15 p.m., CBS 4) with the Broncos needing a win to lock up their first AFC West title since 1998 and to keep on track for the No. 2 seed in the AFC and the first-round bye that comes with it.

"What you came away with is you give up big plays and you give them a little hope," Bailey said. "You can't blame it on anything other than we didn't make the plays we had to. They had to play in the weather like we did; there's no excuses. But this is a confident team.

"We understand what's in front of us."

The Raiders will arrive with a 4-9 record, including a 31-17 loss against the Broncos in early November, well out of the playoff race and with coach Norv Turner answering questions about his future.

Oakland entered the 2004 game also out of the playoff race, but quarterback Kerry Collins threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns, three to receiver Jerry Porter.

Porter (135) and Ronald Curry (110) finished with 100-yard receiving games. And it was in the fourth quarter that Collins made confetti of the Broncos pass defense.

In that final quarter, Collins completed 12 of 17 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns, a total that included completions of 63, 52 and 21 yards.

"What we did a year ago was beat ourselves," Broncos defensive coordinator Larry Coyer said. "They played good, I can't take anything away from them. They came in here and beat our butt. The quarterback threw the ball, they caught the ball, but we gave them cheap plays. . . .

"They came in, we gave them confidence and they kicked our butt. They got us, and it was major."

The Broncos again are hurting some in the secondary, with cornerback Darrent Williams out because of a pulled right groin and safety Curome Cox, who has played as the fifth defensive back in Williams' absence, dealing with a sore left shoulder.

Cox practiced Tuesday and the Broncos expect him to play.

There is also the added factor of Randy Moss in the Raiders offense. Moss still was a Minnesota Vikings receiver in 2004.

Though he and Collins haven't always meshed this season - Moss caught only one pass, a 28-yard touchdown, during the Raiders' 9-7 loss Sunday against the Cleveland Browns - Moss still demands attention.

"Moss and Porter, that's a pretty good start right there," Coyer said. "They are skilled."

The Raiders are the third consecutive team the Broncos will face that is out of the playoff race, with Denver having already beaten the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said he brought up the 2004 game once, to remind the players of what happened.

"You don't dwell on (last year's loss)," Shanahan said. "We talked about them coming into our backyard and beating us at home after we dominated the game the first time."

"This game is what we concentrate on," Bailey said. "Not the last game, not last week, not next week, not two weeks from now, none of that. This game. What's in the present is what we can do something about. That last one is gone and we know what happened. That's all that needs to be said."

They may suck, but they're still the Raiders. I can't even remember all the times that their team or ours has been having a sh*tty season, yet the Bronco/Raider games are almost always close, hard fought games.

I'd love to see a blow-out (in our favor of course) and the pieces for one are there, but I just don't see it happening.

LOCK OF THE WEEK
Denver over Oakland. The Broncos have everything clicking again. Jake Plummer has stayed in a mistake-free groove, taking advantage of the team's powerful two-headed running game with Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell to make big plays of his own. Now here come the Raiders, an archrival for which Denver's players and coach Mike Shanahan have no love. You think the Broncos will let up at home? And oh yeah, defensively, the Broncos stuff the run, and a toe injury is likely to sideline LaMont Jordan, the Raiders' only consistent offensive threat. Broncos 35, Raiders 14.
