I'm concerned! I don't think the Bungles lose another game this year. They have Buffalo at home this weekend then go to KC. They play KC on Sunday and will know how our game vs the Chargers turns out.
I have some serious concerns about winning in SD. It's not like they're expecting a Miami team to come to town... we will get their A-Game!!! Somebody tell me we'll beat them and why so I can calm my nerves b/c right now I'm concerned we end up with the #3 seed.
In most cases, I would say the Chefs can beat Cincy at home... but they may well be out of the picture and will know what the outcome of our games was. I wouldn't put it past them to lay down... knowing that they could screw us out of a bye.
No seriously people...Calm me down!

the chiefs actually will play b/c they have an outside shot of making the playoffs at 10-6, especially if Cleveland beats Pittsburgh which is a possibility
I think the chiefs go 10-6 and help us out in the process
I don't think San Diego has won in KC in awhile either
and Cinncy will light up KC, but I think KC can light up Cinncy's run defense too though

Just remember the coach of SD is none other than Chokenheimer, that should put your nerves at ease.

Nothing is going to calm my nerves...I have been talking about Palmer trying to shoot out our tires for three weeks....we likely have to win out, and with SD going to INDY and dominating, I'm a little nervous about week 17...

If we are going to make it to the Super Bowl we need to beat SD in their own backyard. Plain and simple. I'm as nervous as you, but if we lose we still have a shot at #2. I think Cincy will lose at KC.

I did gain a bit of confidence with our 2nd half performance. It was important to get the ball into the endzone a couple of times. I know that GB isn't that good of a team, but Boller played well against them and we were able to shut him down...
I'm trying to think back to our past performances vs the Chargers in SD. Seems like that used to be a home game away from home, but mainly b/c TD was always going home and we always made sure he got his... how have we been in SD since 99?

I have an opinion on this subject but it aint gonna be popular.
It doesnt matter.
We aren't going to beat Indy.
Oh, I hope we do, but anyone EXPECTING it is going to be on this board the moment they kick our teeth in the astroturf...again, screaming and yelling to fire this person and waive that person and blow up the team.
I just want a playoff win and whether we get #2 or #3 won't really matter much to me. We still get a home playoff game and thus, our best chance for a win.
Anything else will be gravy, but that's all I expect so whatever seed we end up with at this point is not really important to me.

Your only hope is that KC beats SD at Arrowhead the week before. That will kill the Chargers' playoff chances, so the final game against Denver will be meaningless.
If SD beats KC, however, they will still be in it to the last game, hoping that Jax or Pittsburgh drops one that final weekend. If that scenario pans out, you will be facing a desperate Chargers team much like Indy faced, only in SD this time. And if Denver has beaten Oakland to lock up the Division, they will not have as much to lose with a loss to SD. You will not win that type of matchup Young Skywalker

Whatever floats your boat.
But we won the Superbowls because we had Elway, TD, and Sharpe, Smith, McCaffery, Zim, Nalen, Schlereth, Griffith, Neil, Atwater, Crockett, Gordon.
In comparison this team has Plummer, MA/Bell, Putzier, Smith, Lelie, Nalen, KJ, Wilson, Bailey, Pryce
So, we have upgraded at center and CB sorta, but downgraded pretty much everywhere else.
As for why watching the team, because while I do not EXPECT to win in Indy, I certainly ****ing HOPE we do. Dont get it twisted.

I'm not here to troll guys, you have a good team this year, don't take my comments the wrong way, I'm just calling it like I see it.
I'm here because the next 2 games are crucial to both our teams.
The Chargers choked BIG TIME against Miami. A playoff bound team does NOT lose a home game to Miami with the playoffs on the line. But as I recall, you guys got killed by Miami, at least we only lost by 2 pts. :flower:
Denver always matches up well with SD. Last year you won in your place, we won in ours.

To be honest guys I never expected us to be 11-3 right now never mind talking about beating the Colts to make it to the Superbowl although the Broncos have now come out and said the AFC West crown means dick and it's the Superbowl they want.
Fair enough that's the players and the coaching staff's goals but my expectations are a little lower. From what I've seen over the course of this season we are a good football team and on our day can be explosive but we havent been consistent enough and have struggled in the last few weeks until 2nd half Saturday night.
Bottom line, Plummer is not Elway, Anderson/Bell are not Davis, IMO this offense isn't ready yet for a Superbowl run, The defense is close but the offense needs another few pieces in place.

Because SD is 3-1 and Denver is 3-1 with two division games left. One of those teams has to lose one more division game in the finale. If KC loses next week and Denver loses the next two SD wins the division with a better division record and identical 11-5 overall.
Unlikely, but still plausible unfortunately.

Bottom line ...
The Broncos control there own destiny. What CIncy does is irrelevant. All we have to do is win our last two.
Am I worried about the San Diego game? Yes, of course. They played an excellent game in Indy where we have not won in the near past. I still think the Broncos should win. Consider it the first post-season game if you will. If we win, we don't have to play in the wildcard round (assuming Denver wins against Oakland and Cincy wins both their games) and will have a second-round home playoff game.
Merriman played a monster game last week. In my opinion, he is the main reason the Chargers won. What other team got to Payton the way Merriman did. He bullrushed the S**T out of Indy's O-line. He'll do the same thing against us. With cutblocking up front and Kyle Johnson blocking in the backfield, hopefully he won't get to Jake. Jake, unlike Peyton, is a better passer out of the pocket. This should buy him some time to find a receiver.
It should be a hell of a game, even if San Diego is out of the playoff picture. You think Marty wants to lose to us? Nonetheless, I still expect the Broncos to win.

SD, of course is a talented team. Yea they match up well with the colts. Honestly though, Denver matches up well with them. I don't fear the chuggers. Might we lose? yea could happen, but I also think the Broncos are very capable of winning that game. Let's get past the raiders first. As bad as they are, they did beat us last year in Denver. The Chargers just make too many mistakes. That's why they are in the position they are in. So they play the colts well...that won't help them unless they make it. I am confident that the Broncos can pull out a close game if it is in fact close. Marty and the chuggers are terrible late in games. I know we'll get the chugger trolls on here arguing that, but it's fact. They would control their own destiny if they weren't so bad at closing teams out.

I would never over look the Raiders , I have been a Raider hater since 1972 ...I have seen things between these 2 teams , that defies the records of either team .............
I would say it got worse after the fat man game , when ESPN 's Tom Jackson went right up to Madden and said no more fat man ...... That kinda set a tone after that championship game , that has been handed down from player to player over the years ........ I remember 1 year Al Davis was lipping off , and John Elway said I ignore him , Al Davis doesnt suit up .......... As long as Al Davis runs the Raiders , and the Broncos are in Denver , things between these 2 teams will never change ...........

No seriously people...Calm me down!
calm down man.....the Chiefs will play their best.......honest. It just may not be good enough.

Im pretty sure the Cheffies can handle the Bengals at home.

what I want for Christmas
A Denver win, a Chief win and a Detroit win
**** the Chiefs. Neither San Diego nor KC will be seeing the playoffs unless Pittsburgh loses to the Browns or the Lions.

The Fade game is first!!! Dont over look them friends!!
Didn't this happen last year. If we would've beat the fade we would've held the tiebraker with the chargers and had a home game instead of walking into hell?

I will be rooting very loudly for the Chiefs this week.
Two good things come out of this. If the Cheifs win, they will likely play full bore against the Bengals the following week.
Also the Chargers may have nothing left to play for when we roll out there on New Years Eve.
This week, if the Steelers win and the Jaguars win, and the Bolts lose, they are toast right??
I would love to head out there New Years Eve with the Chargers having nothing to play for.
Bolts are pretty toasty already but a loss at kc and they are burnt.
