3 out of 4 guys picked him as a pro bowl qb. and the other joked about giving the nfc plummer so they could have 3 QBs.

Plummer won't make the probowl. Brady, Manning and Palmer.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Manning and Palmer are clearly in, and I can't see Jake ever getting recognized over Brady, which is understandable. The NFC choices are really weak. Brady is 23/12 TD to INT, Jake is 18/6. Man, I do like that ratio.

Jake won't get to go to Hawai although he may get to go to Detroit instead.

Plummer deserves the Pro-bowl more than Brady IMO.

Palmer, Brady and Manning are going but Plummer deserves that #3 spot more than the media love child.

I have to disagree, and I LOVE Jake. Those other 3 QBs are better...fandom only takes one so far. Still, a terrific season for the Denver QB. And he's still fairly young for a signal caller.

Perhaps thy are better overall but Jake is having a better year than Brady, period.

Jake is having a pro bowl season - but in a conference where all the good QB's play. Palmer gets the nod over Jake, not because Carson's having a better year than Jake, but because most of Jake's credit is going to Shanny for "taming" him.

As for Brady - 3 recent SBs will buy a guy some cusion in the probowl selection process - as it should.

Palmer is having a much better season than Jake. Palmer has throwen for 30 TDs already.

Stats mean squat. Both players are personally responsible for several of their team's wins. Difference is, Carson gets the credit for his.

Palmer is playing at a higher level than Plummer if you don't see that your not looking.

If you consider the fact that Cincinnati's stable is it's passing offense over just about anything else, you can see why Carson Palmer is so deserving of a probowl selection especially with his streak of 100+ rating games... (10 and going?) - something rediculous like that.

Jake has shown drastic improvement this year completely seperate from the play calling, he simply throws better. He made some throws in the buffalo game that no one in the league can throw better. But he is not yet playing at the level of Carson Palmer, who is faced with a lot more drop back passing situations and asked to keep scoring and put the pressure on the opposing offense to score.

someone said that on another post also.
a couple things.

1) saying palmer is better is ridiculously premature. one good year and he's better? no, but he is playing better THIS YEAR.

2) on that same note, who is "better" IS NOT the issue. its simply who is better THIS SEASON, and brady is NOT better than plummer this year.
he's not, and neither is his team.

the probowl isnt supposed to be a popularity contest, and its not supposed to be about who the best players are.
its supposed to be about who the best players are THAT YEAR.

with that in mind, the qb spot is pretty damn clear.

manning, palmer, plummer

it probably wont happen that way because the national (and some local) media sucks ass, but thats the way it should be.

The Big E

Palmer is deserving, although with a solid running game and receivers like he has, he'd better be putting up big numbers. The question boils down to Jake v Brady, IMO, and it was nice for these hacks to give Jake some props, even though he'll be left out.

Who cares anyway, because Jake will be the one playing in Detroit in February.

this year, no one should doubt that peyton and carson are better. but plummer is better than brady. as jake says, the pro bowl is not about popularity or about what you've done in the past, but its about THIS YEAR. and jake's having a better year than tom, despite the fact that brady has an easier schedule (buf 2 jets 2 mia 2). should be peyton starting, with carson as the #2 and jake as the #3...screw that actually, jake should start...but that's not gonna happen b/c peyton got the most votes EVER.

Yeah, he's better. Jake's a favorite of mine, but I'd swap him for Palmer in a heartbeat.

He's not a probowl QB

yeah, he in fact is.

we went 6-10, 11-5, 8-8, and 9-7 the four years before he arrived with one playoff appearance.

since his arrival, we've gone 10-6 (he was 9-3 as a starter), 10-6, and 11-3 with playoffs in each of the three seasons.
he's broken bronco records for td's and yards in a season.
he's thrown for 60 td's against 33 int's, including 18-6 ratio this season.
he's led more 4th quarter game tying/winning drives than any qb in the nfl since '97.
he ran for over 200 yards in both his two seasons in denver, and has rushed for 5 td's including one this year.

...and as for this year, he's led his team to a 1st place and afc second best 11-3 record, he's thrown for over 3000 yards with two games still left, and he's thrown less int's than any full time qb in the nfl this year.

yeah, i'd say he IS a probowl qb.

sure, and plummer is playing at a higher level than brady.

period.

I never said he wasn't. Someone said Plummer was playing better than Palmer which is flatly wrong. Palmer has more TDs than Manning!! He also has a high completioin percentage and he is more responsible for his teams succes than Jake is.

Palmer or Plummer hey ........would it be ok to say I would take Plummer and give him Palmers long ball ?
Palmer can bomb , at times he reminds me of the Mad Bomber Lamonica for the Raiders ........ Palmer can stretch a D with that friggen cannon of his ...... and suprising very accurate .......

Plummer is having a Pro Bowl year. It's too bad Brady is a media-princess.

BTW, Mike Ditka stated today on ESPN that if the Broncos secure the #2 seed, then Jake should be the MVP.

Before the season, there were a lot of questions about how well we would do and those critics came out in full force after Week 1. I'm very happy to be where we're at right now. Hats off to Jake on a great year. Whether he's selected to the Pro Bowl or not is irrelevant, I want to see him in Detroit!

MVP - Most Valuable Player for YOUR team - that's what is supposed to be considered.

Is Plummer more valuable than Palmer and Brady are to their teams? Hmm

Rod is for sure an MVP to our team. Plummer over the other guys? Not sure. I hope but....

Wow, someone starts a post about how respected sportswriters are saying Jake deserves a Pro Bowl nod, and the fans of HIS OWN TEAM respond with "he doesn't deserve it" and "he's not playing that well" and "I'd swap him for someone else." Is this a Chiefs board or a Bronco's board? It's so hard to tell nowadays.

I have this really scruffy gray beard that makes me look like Festus, but am catching hell, but won't shave till Pornstachio does...(BTW, Festus watched Matt's back in Gunsmoke the TV show)

It's like..."you lazy bastard...go shave..."...well, maybe so, but I'm not shaving till Jake shaves, and I'm not jinxing him...I'm totally in homerville and superstitious...

GO BRONCOS

Plus it's subzero here at night..need as much fur as possible...the cat keeps jumping off my head, but he doesn't have close to the coat to go out...amusing, he doesn't know how lucky he is honestly...god it's cold here...warmer tonight, it's 8 with a windchill -2...heat wave...

There is a difference between saying Jake is playing well and jerking him off by saying he is having a better year than Palmer, which is absurd.

I can't believe that some of the people on this Board are going to compare Plummer to Brady.

I'm going to call each and everyone of you guys out to defend this guy the next time he trips. Talking up Plummer to being better than Brady is just the stuff people on this board condemn the ESPN analysts doing.

Who are we kidding?

The poise, the decisiveness, the touch on the ball, the reading, the proggression, the consistency....

Plummer picks up a little bit of that with every game he plays, and we as Denver fans should be excited that he's moving in the right direction in a big way.

But Brady is the master of all those things. Brady is a measuring stick, Plummer, a guy who's just turned the corner.

Brees is having a great season, but the nod would go to Plummer in that one I think. Still, Brees would be in the probowl in the NFC for certain.
