Looks like the Bears have finally lost patience with Orton, so the prodigal son returneth.
How many games will Rex last and what he will break this time?

I wouldn't mind seeing Chicago go deep in the playoffs, so for their sake I hope Rex stays healthy. I give him 4 games

Couldn't do any worse than Orton. Orton sucks. The bears didn't lose patience with Orton. Grossman is their QB & it looks he's finally ready to play.

Whoops. I didn't expect anyone to guess that high and I don't know how to fix the poll.

I think Grossman will be a very good QB in this league. The guy does have the tools.

I picked the 2nd game and some exotic injury. He'll play well enough tonight to get people's hopes up and then dash them as he's being carted off in a week.

Thank you for getting into the spirit of this thing. Jeez, if we can't enjoy the simple pleasures of taking cheap shots at young athletes and their long suffering franchises, what the hell are we doing here?

combine that with sports figures not being able to force chicks to give them lapdances or have sex with them and you can tell the world is coming to an end.

While we're at it, how about we remind Bears fans of this gem they drafted to be their franchise signal caller.

McNown was no McMahon (Jim or even Mike). I think Orton will be a better pro than Alex Smith. Maybe that's not saying much....

Alex Smith going number one was a travesty.
Zero touchdowns, nine interceptions and nine fumbles (three lost) in his first four games.

But..but...he's got little hands :)
What are they like midget hands with those little sausage fingers? They did actually watch him throw an NFL football at the combine before backing up the armored truck, right?

Second game, but it will be after he goes home. He will get out of his car feeling like a new man, but as he walks up the steps of his house a girl scout will offfer him cookies, but he gets scared and falls backward. Luckily its only a 2-step fall but he then trips over the Girl scouts bike and breaks his pinky and index finger on his throwing hand. (prognosis: out for season)

I think he benifited from going in a draft when the QB pool was shallow. I mean you had him, Aaron Rodgers, and Campbell. Not really hot tickets. Campbell sucks and we have no idea how Rodgers will pan out.
I knew he was going to go high, but given that he came from a gimmicky style of offense and didn't play in a more elite conference, I'm surprised that people didn't see this happening.

I think he's a slightly better version of Marc Wilson.

:saywhat: All we know about Campbell at this point is that he’s big, athletic, has a very very good arm, and he’s a leader. Nothing about that really sucks. He may be a bit raw with 4 different OC's during his college career. He hasn't had anybody work with him longer than a year. I think he has the most potential of this QB class to be great just because he has the size, skills, the work ethic, and the leadership ability.

This is a tasteless thread......and one that I would normally find myself somewhere in the middle but can't and won't touch it. Rex is a really good kid. I must say I found myself cringing every time he got hit last night thinking the worst. I don't think anyone could mentally handle it if they took a 3rd serious injury that quickly.
But a little background on Rex. He grew up in my hometown. Son of a very wealthy eye surgeon. Lived in probably the biggest most exclusive home in Bloomington which includes some pretty big players ie John Mellencamp. Was thrown to the dogs as the varsity starting QB as just a sophomore at one of the states premiere big school football powers probably before he was physically and mentally ready. He took a lot of criticism cause everyone assumed it was only because his old man was playing his power card. Rex handled it all with class. He went on to be multi-time All State QB, Mr. Football is Sr year. Led his team to the state championship game as a Jr losing by 1 point then leading them to an undefeated title his Sr year.
From athletic prowess, money...you name the kid had it and despite all that he always carried himself with class and modesty. As you can imagine growing up with that type of silver spoon in your backside 99% of kids would carry themselves like entitled pri@ks. He is the rare "has it all" kid that you can't but help pull for.

I am pulling for him to stay healthy as long as he does not grow a Neck Beard.
