Elam reaches 100 points 13th straight time
NFL.com wire reports
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Dec. 17, 2005) -- Broncos kicker Jason Elam became the first NFL player to score 100 points in each of his first 13 seasons when he kicked an extra point in the third quarter against Buffalo.
The kick came after Wesley Duke scored on a 1-yard touchdown reception. He also made an extra point earlier in the game.
New England's Adam Vinatieri and Green Bay's Ryan Longwell are second on the active list with nine consecutive 100-point seasons. Elam is now one season short of matching the career record held by Morten Andersen and Gary Anderson, who have 14 100-point seasons -- but not consecutive.
Elam, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, was Denver's third-round pick in 1993. In 1998, he hit a 63-yard field goal to tie Tom Dempsey's NFL record.
With as lackluster he has been, he's still something special in the realm of kicking, gotta give Jason his props for years of service and consistency.
