Isn't today travel day? Buffalo is experiencing "heavy snow squalls" that are suppose to last through tomorrow night.

Great, its going to be like 1997 all over again, when the Broncos escaped Denver during a snow storm to play the Bills in Buffalo.

This time, its in Buffalo.

Land the jet on Lake Erie if we have to...

We are on a mission from God...the Jet won't sink...

Land the sucker on the interstate...I don't care...seriously, they are pretty familiar with snow up in Titonka..they will get a runway cleared for our charter at least...of course, this is the same team that brought out a snow plow for a field goal if I remember right...so dirty tricks isn't out of the question...

I think they are fairly beaten down with 4 wins...we should be able to take a stroll thru the hinterland and come back with a W...but I'm a homer....we are heavy road favorites tho...8.5 I think...that's alot on the road...

They may have 4 wins, but this has incredible signs of a trap game...even tho it's not an early game, our record in prime time has been horrible lately, our record in bad weather worse...

Great, a snow game. Well maybe Denver will wear their white jerseys instead of the orange like last year in the snow. I think with that snow, our running game will tear them apart. Yes, even Dayne.

It's 13 here today -5 with wind chill, and it's snowed virtually every day...two new batteries and a snowpile 5 feet high off the driveway, a runny nose and a cat that has such cabin fever he has been bouncing off my head in frustration...he goes out to the window...He's damn lucky I picked him up off the lawn at one of the farms when his eyes were glued shut at a kitten...ungratefull bastard would be dead...

It's horrible here...and I'm in town...I'm getting a electric start snow thingy as a gift...mainly to myself...

Commercial planes can take off in 2 inches of wet snow and 4.5 inches of dry snow so assuming that Buffalo has any kind of snow plows they will be fine to arrive as they can land with more snow on the ground then they can take off with.

I asked a Delta pilot who was sitting next to me while waiting for the de-icer to come to our plane during the recent snow storm in O'Hare.

of course if we are all in white, Holcum wont be able to see our secondary!
we just run the ball and force them to throw!
this is why teams that run the ball and can stop the run, WIN in the play-offs!
The SB may be playd on a perfect field and in perfect conditions, but it takes an all weather team to get there!
( I know all about the colts and the Rams)

Broncos Rule
12-16-2005, 10:22 AM
Um, by league rules, we cannot change any part of our unis at the last minute. Broncs filed a form before the season started with the league office declaring which unis we were going to wear for each game - same as every other team.

This is what got us fined 2 years ago in SD when Marty whined.

people are STILL taking shots at jake?

the guy has thrown fewer int's this season than ANY full time starter.
if any qb knows when to throw it away this season, its jake plummer.

i dont like the weather report any more than anyone else (since bad weather is an equalizer), but plummer isnt the one to worry about.

I dont think its going to be that easy winning in Buffalo. It SHOULD be but Denver has a habit of playing down to its opponent a lot. We will probably win but it will be another nailbiter i gather.

I saw this on Rotowire.com. I'm not sure what "lake effect snow" is, but it sounds cold to me.

"Saturday's weather in Buffalo calls for lake effect snow with a possibility of a foot or more of accumulation over the course of the weekend, according to media reports out of Buffalo."

So, would Tatum be more or less effective in Snow?

I mean once he gets a full head of steam behind him, I can see how he would slip past alot of tackles on the way to some pretty big gains...

Broncoman13
12-16-2005, 05:39 PM
Normally in the snow you'll see the advantage go to the offense and passing game in particular. That's b/c it's more difficult for CB's to react to WR's routes, whereas the WR knows what route he's running and can be a little more sure footed in making his cuts. This doesn't help Ash all that much, but I think Rod will have a good game and you could see another big game from either Devoe or Charlie Adams. What sucks about these conditions is there is a fair chance that Holcomb will have a decent game and we'll have to hear about how desperate we are in the secondary..... both from the media and several here on the Mane. The only way this turns into a run heavy game is if the wind is real bad. If the wind is real bad then we have a huge advantage and will likely be able to run pretty well. Also keep in mind that one of our best plays is the PA Boot. I slick field will make this play a nightmare for opposing DE's!

As for Tatum, I personally think he'll be a little less effective. I've watched plenty of players that rely on speed struggle in the snow. Mainly b/c they don't get the same traction which kind of negates their ability to accelerate and gain the same speed. Mike Anderson probably won't have much of a problem, nor would Ron Dayne, but a slick field is tough for us to run on b/c the cutbacks are slowed down quite a bit. It'll take some pretty big holes that are sustained for us to get the big run... but I have faith!

Yeah, that usually is the general consensus. I was just thinking (hoping) that there also might be a benefit for a speed guy (RB) in the Snow that people don't usually look at...

I guess it was kind of wishful thinking on my part, but if TATUM does get a crease, I can see how a bunch of defenders "trying to get the angle" could be slip-sliding-away all over the field...

bronco610
12-16-2005, 09:13 PM
I think the bad weather actually helps the bigger backs more. A few years back dallas had some big guy (dont remember his name) run for a ton of yards and won the game. The guy was basically an unknown and was gone a year later. But that day he looked like a super star.

Planes always fly faster West to East. I originally wanted to see a nice strong offensive performance in terms of points but this may not be so high scoring but the run should dominate. I think MA will get some time off and Tatum is due to seriously stretch his legs....

This time, its in Buffalo.

actually ro, it was in buffalo last time also.

romo was snowmobiling guys to the airport.
that was a friggin crazy storm. october no less.
we had well over 3 feet at my house and that was in about 12 hours!!
car broke down in the middle of it and had to walk the last mile home.
crazy stuff.

during that storm, there was only ONE flight that left the city, and that was the broncos.
they used every available crew to plow one runway to get them off and used any means possible to get all the guys to DIA.
the game was in buffalo, but GETTING there was the problem.

this time, its snowing here and there.
lets just hope it settles down before kickoff.
after last week, i really want no part of a close game.
a complete ass kicking is in order.
