Dear Fellow Orange Mane Members:
Orange Mane, as it might be for some others, had been a long and joyful ride for me this year. Never have I concentrated so much of my energy towards a single forum, website, or let alone my computer. You all have made my days here very exciting and entertaining—each of you is unique in your own special ways. Whether it be the moderators, the “scouts”, the Photoshop experts, or even the rival fans—each of you have used your talents to make this forum special in a way no other forum can achieve.
I decided to write this letter to all of you for three reasons. One, as I am of Chinese heritage, I have hit post 888 and that is a VERY lucky number (a lame excuse to celebrate again at 1000, I know); and two, I feel that it is important to make the point that we must keep our spirits high—from what I have seen in the past few months, this forum is a very high-class society, and we often take responsibility for our mistakes and actions; and finally, three, as the best opportunity to wish you all, a very merry Christmas, a very joyful holiday season, and the most prosperous and happy New Year possible.
I thank you all again for your time in reading this, and after all, we all have things to do. But we must admit that Orange Mane has been a huge part of our Bronco fan lives, and I myself am hugely grateful for it.
Cheers to the Broncos for a successful season, and many more.
The most joyful holiday and happy new year to all.
Sincerely,

Hey mini, just curious, what is the significance of 888? Just a lucky number, or is there a backstory to it?

12-06-2005, 11:03 PM
Year of the pig, unfortunately. In legend, the pig finished last in the race of the zodiac animals (rat first), so 2007 would be rat.
888 is a very lucky family number, and in Chinese its like homonymous to prosperity and wealth.
Thanks to all.
