READ ON ONLY IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE DISINTEGRATION OF NFL UNIFORMS:

If anybody remembers my thread from about a month ago, bemoaning the loss of all the cool uniforms and colors on NFL fields, I was psychic im my prediction. Talking about how 10-plus teams have abandoned bright colors to add BLACK or NAVY BLUE over the past decade, I said this:

Well, Sports Fans, it happened sooner than I thought! Not on the field . . . yet . . . but Sunday I saw several black parkas w/ Chefs logos on sideline folks, big black stripes on sleeves and jackets - and black sweaters with Chefs logos and other items:

You have to look close - but Lamar Hunt is wearing the new black Chefs sweater under the coat.
People - if "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" taught us anything, it taught us that when the black and blue pod people aliens arrive - they will arrive by stealth. It will be gradual. TAKE TO THE STREETS, ORANGEMANE! Protect the planet!

Black is slimming? Please tell me you didn't just say "black is slimming!" I am going to go way out on a limb here and say that today, Thursday the 8th day of December, 2005, the words "black is slimming" were used for the first time in the history of the OrangeMane. :giggle:

LMAO! it doesnt matter what color they are wearing. The Chiefs will still suck and they will keep sucking like they have sucked the last 30 years. ;D

I have no problem with traditional teams sporting black jerseys such as Army and Purdue.
I am with Bronco Buff all the way that I hate when teams add black to market their gear to the wannabe Raider gangsta masses. The Eagles, Ravens, and Lions need to get them out of my face.
I used to love the Mets' blue and orange uniforms but I despise them now because they added black to a beautiful color scheme.

Boy, are you right there! The METS are the Number 1 example in baseball.
(Curiously, until 8 years ago, the Mets and Broncos had the EXACT SAME COLORS . . . along w/ Florida Gators)

I agree, but I am about the only one that kinda likes the Lions black jersey, I prefer the old school blue and grey throwback with the long blue socks, if they had the old Lions logo from the 50's on the helmet that would be a bad a$$ uni. I have been a Mets fan since I was a kid, I liked the old grey unis with the orange blue and white stripes from the shoulders to the sleeves, that was cool, I don't like the black jerseys but the black accents are ok with me, I like the black hat and the alternate white and blue hat they wore a few years ago. I think the all black trend will end soon, the Chargers old school jerseys are pretty popular even with non-Charger fans, if the ever switched back to them I bet some other teams would follow suit. After all it is a league of copy-cats.

Well the black uni's won Atlanta a SB...right...and Jerry Glanville is headed to the HOF thru the media...
I actually think the Ravens all-black unis are among the coolest in the NFL. Instant intimidation factor. It works for the Ravens because they've always had black, to some degree, in their unis.
The Eagles are so-so...but the Lions blacks are putrid.
