The mama penguin will literally starve, then the papa penguin will tend the egg...you can't leave the egg unattended...
it's amazing...
That's a strong male sentry in the photo...he's fighting off gulls...
Penguins never fail to amaze me how they managed to adapt and survive...they fly thru the water in antarctic waters, they can't give milk, they freaking have to tend eggs, it's literally unbelievable...
How is that guy supposed to feed everyone...ever see when the little ones take to the sea, the sea lions have a major feast...and the moms have to go bring back fish in their beaks, they have no milk...how do you hatch eggs in Antartica? It's totally ludicrous...you need an incubator in Iowa...Some thing are absolute comedy...no heat, my kitty is on the comforter, l how can you live on ice and hatche eggs...that's amazing to mock...How do you even incubate the egg in those temps? I have seen how, they tuck them, but dang...then they have to go migrate and go in a giant bunch, safety in numbers and the sea lions feast...if anyone has seen it, it's really unbelievable to say the least...
They leave a sentry...I guess he is supposed to fight off evil birds...he's not a feeder, just a comic IMO...It's like Farley protecting a herd of cattle....well, later, they all come back with fish in their beaks if they make it...it's a crazy civilization for penguins....
If we have a nuclear war, they will probably be far past us...
