Well first off, what an entertaining NFL game. Despite the fact that we lost, I definetly got my money's worth. A few observations, not all of them on the game itself....

- On KC's first touchdown, it appeared that Bailey let Hall release and Fergy (I believe) bit on the play as well. I was 40 rows up on the lower level, and the play developed right in front of me. Before Trent could get the ball out of his hands I was already sitting down and cussing.

- I didn't realize, not did anything sitting around me, that Van Pelt had scored the TD and not Plummer. From our vantage point you couldn't pick up his number, and we they announced the TD over the PA system, everyone was giving the "Come again?" look.

- I realize this was an important game for both teams, and this is a VERY heated rivarly. I must also point out that I have been to many games in Denver and Kansas City. Keep that in mind before I make the following comments. To me, Arrowhead didn't seem nearly as loud as it did in games past. Over the videoboard, they kept showing Steve Young's quote from NFL Countdown eariler that morning. "Arrowhead isn't nearly a tough to place to play, it's lost it's mystique" or something to that nature. Under that it said PROVE HIM WRONG. Maybe it was the cold, but it wasn't as deafening as I've heard Arrowhead before.

- As I said earlier, this was a big game, but the reactions of the fans was a bit confusing. They had the right to be excited, jump for joy, do all the things fans do when they announced the 4th down reversal. But my God, I could have sworn they had just won Super Bowl XL. I've been to many games with tight finishes, and of course everyone is going to be really excited at the end, but this was absolutely hilarious. I had to just kind of smile and laugh it off. Going in I didn't expect to win, and it was a great game, and a good time. It was still fairly comical to see some of the over-the-top reactions of the fanbase.

- I almost forgot, at one point during the game they showed the KC "Superfans" on the videoboard. A guy dressed up like Elvis, a wolf creature, and some other freaks. My entire section, Chiefs and Broncos fans alike, proceeded to crack jokes on them for the next 5 minutes. If you go over to CP and have posted with some of the Superfans, you might find this funny.

All teams have their own "Superfans" and they're all a bunch of douches.

Let's see...in our row, we had TWO people with orange wigs (Disco and Dr. Disco). Dr. Disco had the full pimp suit going on. Two people were in orange suits and tophats (ak1971 and dumpy). We were sitting a couple of rows above Weirdwolf and First Down Elvis. So, yeah...every team has their interesting characters...Ha!

ahh, this is something that happens at every stadium in every rivalry. the cheifs/broncos has become a huge rivalry and anytime one team beats the other, it is a huge celebration.

the way our crowd was and the way we celebrated that kc victory at the game, you would have thought it was an nfc championship game.

i respect this for the chief fan base - for this reason alone- bottom line, they lose this game, they are all but eliminated. they win, and they are in the hunt and one game back from us.

the fans deserved to be excited.

Every game is a playoff game for the Chiefs, right now. Denver was gonna be a tough one, and to win it, especially the way the game unfolded and kept goign back and forth, was huge for Chiefs fans. So yeah, it was nice to celebrate it that way. We've lost a few of those types of game the past few years. I've been going for 15 years, and it was just as loud last night as it ever has been. Which was nice, because before this year, Young's comment was correct... it's been muffled and not as rowdy. As the ticket prices have gone up, the wine sipping crowd as increased, thus quieter games and people typically leaving after halftime.

I did notice there were plenty of times that Analhead was very quiet. It was a good game the fans had plenty to be scared about. We split the series & Cheefs won a hard fought Narrow Victory at Narrowhead, they earned that one & have every reason to celebrate.

I didn't see many people leave until the 4th down call was reversed and KC secured a victory. However, the people behind us wanted us to sit down. That was pathetic...

Yeah, yesterday was different. There weren't nearly as many people leaving early. I'm not sure why, because a close game hasn't stopped them from leaving early before.
As for sitting down, unless you were standing the entire time, then it was dumb of them to complain. But if you were standing the whole time, never sitting down... plus you were the only people in your section up, then I see their point. Had a guy like that in front of us as well.

You could hear a pin drop after the Anderson touchdown...

Too bad it didn't last...:moody:

Very true. In my section there always seems to be a good percentage of away fans, so they were partying it up at that point.

I didn't get to go to the game...people told me the crowd was good not great for Arrowhead. This game was against a rival and basically made it so our playoff chances are still alive. There was much cause for celebration...

I also ran across this and liked it.

Seymour gives fans an earful
By Michael Felger
Monday, December 5, 2005 - Updated: 07:29 AM EST

FOXBORO — Richard Seymour ripped into the quiet Gillette Stadium crowd yesterday, saying the Foxboro faithful were “spoiled” and that they made more noise for a visiting Victoria’s Secret model than the three-time Super Bowl champions.

“It’s really disappointing,” said Seymour following the Patriots’ 16-3 victory over the Jets. “The loudest they ever got was when there was a Victoria’s Secret model (Gisele Bundchen) on the scoreboard. They don’t know when to cheer. You look up and you see half of the stands empty.”

Seymour offered the remarks without being asked, indicating a level of frustration that went beyond the words. Several times during the game, the defensive lineman could be seen exhorting the crowd, only to be greeted by relative silence.

Seymour’s complaint has been echoed by other Patriots players over the last few years, as the open ends of Gillette and the close proximity of the club-level seats (where many fans opt to stay inside) have conspired to give the Pats one of the worst home-field advantages — in terms of crowd noise — in the NFL.

There was one occasion during the 2003 season when a game against Tennessee coincided with a Red Sox playoff game. That led to a weird happenstance where the crowd erupted just after a Steve McNair touchdown run (at the same moment, David Ortiz had doubled in the winning run).

“They all should have been at the baseball game then,” said Seymour, recalling the story.

“Coming from Arrowhead (Stadium in Kansas City) last week, it’s obvious how important the 12th man is,” added Seymour. “That stadium is probably the loudest in the league. So to come from that to this . . .”

When asked why the Gillette fans were so quiet, Seymour said: “They’re spoiled.”

Linebacker Rosevelt Colvin took a more diplomatic approach.
“They pay to see us,” he said, “So they have the right to do what they want.”

Gisele is worth the price of admission alone, the patriots are just the icing on the cake.
