Denver outplayed KC yesterday but didn't capitolize on INT's, kicked FG's instead of FG, and had 2 INTS thrown. You can't win in Arrowhead playing like that. I didn't think DEN would win this game all week and they played well enough to win just didnt get it done though as Diaper Boy ran all over a tired D and should get a new endorsement deal with Huggies. The part that bothered me though was lack of Pass rush. No way Indy can be beat without pressure and it has to be pressure without blitzing. Den doesn't match up well with INDY or CINN for that matter and I hope Indy goes Undefeated so they can beat JAX and Chargers.

Indy will piss all over that fake Defense again.
The only way to beat the Colts was always and will always be to pound the running game against the small front 7 and keep Manning off the field. We've got the backs, the OL to do it. Do we have the patience and execution?

The bengals can pound the running game against the Colts. Yes their defense isn't that good, but the Bengals have an offense for a shootout or can pound the running game & control clock. If Denver gets down by more than 2 touchdowns it's over. Bengals have a chance to come back if in the same situation.

if Chicago could score 2 defensive TD's, they might make a game out of it. But if the Colts get to the Superbowl, against any other NFC team, it's blow out city..
I agree...no way our defense (especially secondary) can keep Manning and the Colts in check.
We get killed by Eddie Kennison and Gonzo....we simply don't have the man power to keep Harrison, Wayne, Stokely, and Clark down.
Ferguson is a liability with his blown coverages and Lynch has lost a step. Champ is playing well but does get beat and Darrent Williams is still a rookie. Reggie Wayne will make what Keyshawn did to him look like child's play.
Throw in the fact that Edge is, statiscally and historically speaking, a "better" back than LJ (who just ran over us like nobody's business) and we're in for a long day.
We're good...one of the top 4-5 teams in the AFC, but I think we're a little overrated and that KC exposed all our weaknesses.

easy there...the Broncos were able to dominate the Chiefs in the 1st game. Granted the chiefs played better this time around, but the Broncos blew coverages and missed tackles more than they "were exposed".

If Eddie Kennison and Dante Hall are having their way with the Denver secondary then Harrison, Wayne, Clark and Stokely will be blowing them up just like the last two playoff games.

in the dome, I don't see any team in the AFC matching up enough to beat them
that dome is like their spinach and they are popeye
in a loud outdoor stadium in some weather, Colts could be beaten, but that isn't going to happen this year in the playoffs.

Our safeties simply sucked balls and our d-line must have ate all of Dalton's 12 pack of donuts before the game.
When the safeties can't remember their assignments and the d-line resembled the browns line from last year you aren't going to stop anybody.
Our CB's are fine, but I'm going to shoot shanny if he doesn't get some legit safeties next year.

Den was having to give too much run support, but aside from the blown assignments and bull**** call on Lynch (I could be ok with it, if the calls went both ways), pass defense wasn't what did Den in. Their tackles played well, better than I expected, esp Welbutrin. But, Den left too many pts on the field. Still a split on the two tough road games is ok. Pitty, Cinny won though

the MA not a first down ended the game. Ferguson missed the assignment, yeah. But, he pretty much sealed one earlier in the year with a nice pick. Lynch is simply going to cost Den one-two games a year simply because someone in the NFL (Washington) has decided to target him.
As for the guard, maybe I should have said center. We just don't have the push. Carlsile is ok. But, between nails and hamilton, Den is just 20 pounds of lower body power shy.

It was about pass rush. Assuming we get a rematch with the Colts, it will be about pass rush. Stop the rush and get pressure on the QB.
Green had forever to let plays develop, and no secondary on earth can cover forever. Disappointed in the lack of consistent rush yesterday.>:'(

The O-line is what made the Chiefs yesterday. Kennison, Hall and co. aren't the worldbeaters they were made out to be. But when your QB has 10 seconds to find holes in the secondary, it's a different story. The Dline was trying their asses off to get back there, but it wasn't happening.
Anyone think that Indy's line is better than KC's?

There were several blown coverages in that game and especially early on.
That play where Hall scored was insane. Ferguson creeps up to the line of scrimmage and Champ simply releases Hall when it's obvious he's going deep as if he expected cover 2 deep safety help.
That kinda crap happened a couple of times and it really pissed me off. It's one thing to make mistakes but you can't afford to gift points to the other team like that.
Still though, our defense came out flat today and had a bad day. I don't think they're as awful as that obviously, but we can't afford another slip up like that one.

It's the Colts and then a group of incomplete teams. Denver's no different than KC, SD, CIN, or JAX--they're flawed teams that are capable of winning or losing on any given Sunday because their flaw catches up with them in certain matchups.
This team cannot stay with the Colts for 60 minutes.

I agree. No one can cover for as long as our secondary had to yesterday. Green had all day. Our defense looked confused and on their heels all day long. It started up front. No push and no pressure. Looked like the Redskin game only KC finished the drives.

Not a surrender monkey, just a realist asshole. This team is improved over last year and I expect if we make the AFC CHampionship game, we will have a better showing but we aren't good enough to win in the RCA dome and yesterday's game should have shown even you that.

Man, this place is sad sometimes. A One score loss to a playoff contender, fighting for their lives, on the road, to a rival, and a team that simply doesn't lose at home this time of year. Now we are hopeless frauds, why even play the rest of the season, we can't win anyway right?

Heh... Nice try, but I had chalked this one down as a loss. I didn't expect us to go into KC and get the win in December. The minute I saw the schedule, I had hope we could beat them, but figured it for a loss.
That said... I WASN"T a surrender monkey about it. I figured we had a shot to beat them if we played our best game. We put in a B+ effort but both our offense and our defense struggled in the second half. One side, or the other could have struggled, and we'd have been fine. Both units cant cash in their efforts though.
Bottom line, we need better safety play against these passing oriented attacks, and we need to eventually fix the third down problem that has plagued us since Miami.

Now that I've had a chance to calm down from last night, I don't feel so bad about the loss. While I'm not the type of fan who will predict the Broncos to lose any game, this was gonna be a tough game to win. That being said, It think we played well enough to win. Even though we lost, I thought we showed that we can win on the road against a good team if we had to. This is not the end of the world and we are still in great position for the # 2 seed in the AFC. We just have to do what we've done all year after a loss. Come back next week and take it out on the next team we play. I'm still in full blown homer mode and think this team can do something special this year!

A little more going into it than that....Factor in that the Colts are whipping everybody in sight and the Donks have now dropped games to a decent Chiefs and Giants team and a bad Dolphins squad. Bit more than just one rivalry loss being factored into that assessment.

I'm not down at all on the Broncs as I expected them to lose to KC lkike they always do. Den beat themselves yesterday with FG's and Turnovers and KC played about as good as they can and that was barely enough. DEN is 2nd best team in the league but the NFL is all about matchups and DEN doesn't match up well at all with INDY. You can give the chargers and the chiefs 5 losses as they play each other and they both should lose 1 more game. DEN needs to win DIVISION then hope Cincy loses 1-2 more games. Yesterday was a big loss as now DEN will probably have to try and beat SD in SD if they win out. DEN doesn't know who to route 4 yet in the SD/KC game.
