Indeed. To be honest I didn't quite know how KC was going to pull this off until I watch them play Dallas and KC play NE. The results didn't show me as much as the way the games were won and lost. I pretty good after that.

Denver has a great team and they will be a factor in the AFC. However I jsut don't believe this is a team that will be able to take it to the level Denver fans want.

I think it will be verrrryyyy tough for anyone to beat Denver in the playoffs in Denver....aside from that? I don't see Denver getting anyhwere...

Could be wrong.

Guess we will see!

I am finding it VERY difficult to be magnanamous in defeat, but despite my rage/depression/anger/pissiness I have to applaud both of you on your posts.

You have proven that despite being rival fans, and despite all the smack bull and heightened emotion that can happen you can be good winners. Despite the bull, Boob and Zach, you are good contributers and offer an opinion that sometimes puts my homer stance in perspective.

Only kidding, you are a couple of douchbags.

I'll do the right thing tonight and give credit.

Throw out the numbers, this game was just friggen odd.

Both the Chiefs and donks gave up nasty rushing yardage despite both being top 5 against the run.

Jake threw picks.

Green threw picks.

Bad tackling and good tackling by both teams.

A very gutsy but sloppy game by both teams.

We split. Really, what else could we hope for?...

I understand this: it is hell of a lot easier to be magnanamous when you win.

However, if these posts by Zach and Bob are honest, as they seem to be, props for not being coming on and being utter pricks.

If they are honest posts, they are showing class. Something some of these replies are not.

Good win for you guys today, I am pissed, but you played well.

The AFC West is not a lock anymore.

It's gonna be a tense December.

Yea, K.C showed a lot heart and fire out there today. They needed the win and gave everything they had to make sure they still had hope for the playoffs. Good win guys, you earned every bit of it.

Very nice of you, Bob.

We will see if we can hold onto this 1 game lead. It was another classic Broncos-Chiefs game today. I have to give the Mullets credit, their offense was sharp and the defense stopped us at the key moments. We need to overcome that Ravens hex this week, or else we will really be in trouble. But right now I still think we are in good shape to win the division and get a home playoff game.

Both posts were gracious and also true. We gave them all we had and they withstood it. It was a close game. IFs and buts don't count . KC won this one fair and square. Nobody really had the edge through three quarters. Our defense was geting tired in the 4th and it showed. Credit Vermeil for a good game plan, and Johnson for carrying the rock. Good game KC.

Denver just needs to take care of business the next two weeks to clinch a playoff spot. Not a given, but this team should be good enough to get it done.

Chiefs have a real tough schedule the last 4, so its unlikely they can win the division...but if they play them, like they played us, they have a legitimate shot at a wild card. It will still be tough with the next two on the road, then SD at home, followed by the Bengals.

Props to the Chiefs , they got it done. :charge:

Congrats to the Chefs. They did a great job late in the 4th quarter with both solid D and great clock eating drives. Larry Johnson is becoming more and more patient back there. The AFC West STILL has the best RB's in all of football! Nothing new for a lot of us, but some still consider LJ an unknown.

Like Pez said though, it's going to take some real luck for the Chefs to make the playoffs... let alone win the division. Better hope that Pittsburg goes on a losing streak and the Chargers find a way to lose some games.

I don't think you really need to sack up and give credit to another team on your website, I think if you were on their website you most certainly do.

I thought today would be pretty lopsided, no real reason to feel that way, I just felt KC's run defense was suspect, which it still was. Alot of the game was dictated by playing tag for 3 quarters, and by the time the game was within striking distance the defense had be abused so badly all day they were in no shape to make the critical stops in the 4th. I would say the key to this game however was the KC O-line, i'd hope by this time of the season they woulda been beat up from a long season and some old bones, but they were the one thing in this game that truly dominated. Every other participant merely played bit roles. Darrent had a great Int, Jake made some boneheaded plays, Champ got lucky on his Int. Tatum was literally lightning in a bottle, and the bottle was nearly empty. Lynch got screwed on the call and then screwed himself. Quitterson as usual brought the a-game for the broncos. Rod was dependable and clutch. Van Pelt got a taste of the NFL. Kyle Johnson had a very nice block that was as much luck as awareness. Trint was Trint, with some explosiveness. Our D-Line represented the three little pigs stick hut. Dicky called a good game and Shanahan called an OK game, but I expect more with 10 days to plan.

Anyhow, we lose move on and keep the lead. Now it's time to sack up and hit the playbooks. Chiefs win, I hate saying it, not incredibally painful or surprising just a bit disappointing.

I was pretty pissed with our run D in the first half. It sucked.

They tightened it up considerably in the second half. Only Tatum Bell was doing anything.

I know I am going to get beat up for this but... Jake Plummer has to make a believer out of me. I just don't see how this team is going to go toe-to-toe with good QBs like Big Ben, Palmer, and most of all Peyton where else equal, the QB makes a huge difference. The turnover in the redzone changed the momentum (granted they had all day to get it back). Denver was only 30% on 3rd down. Those things just don't add up to a victory -- especially when the turnover margin is not in your favor. Our defense has not played particularly well, but they have been getting the ball back to the offense.

I also though Shanny had a bad day calling plays (primarily in the second half). Tatum Bell was clearly the best back on the field today (maybe even including LJ) and he kept going to the rotation, with 3 guys which makes it even more difficult to get into a rhythm. AND... he never ran the toss play that Tatum has been taking to the house. That play is prime to run against and aggressive D like the Chiefs. Shanny was astute enough to get that one second back... but it was too little too late.

I never whine about the refs. The game is never decided by the refs.

For instance, sure I like to poke fun about the vaseline incident in the playoffs, but the Chiefs lost that game because they failed to gain 30 yards in the last 1:30 of the game.

I'm not sure I would say either team was the better team today. Kind of like last week when we played the Cowboys... I didn't walk away feeling like the better team. We got the W on their turf, which is a tough task... today we walk away with a loss, but it was a close game no doubt. Chef fan needs to really sit down and thank the football gods for this one. Jake hasn't played as poorly as he did today in a long time. I wouldn't call it pressure either. The INT in the endzone was a good play by the Chefs, but a dumb decision by Jake. You could see Shanny after the play saying "just run it", if he runs it we likely score atleast 3.

Long story short... this game could have gone either way. 4 or 5 lead changes as well as ties. Good game, but clearly it doesn't define either team or the season.

I was wishing for a pass rush, defensive backs that were closer than 5 yards from their man, and an offensive line that did not look like swiss cheese on EVERY passing down. We were walloped in every fundamental. KC's OL and DL completely outperformed ours and our secondary sucked. So I want on OL that protects, a DL that rushes and defensive backs that cover for Christmas.

Speaking of the Lynch hit(which I in no way am saying lost us the game) did anyone happen to catch the helmet to helmet hit by a Raider on a Charger WR? He actually led with the crown and hit the WR right as he caught the ball in his helmet. No flag. That is what pisses me off. No consistancy by the refs in the NFL.

They are just going to have to put little yellow flags on all these p*ssy WRs. Pull the flag off and the guy is down. It's redicules. Lynch used his forearms. There wasn't any helmet contact. Hell, Kennison was laying on the ground and said "good hit" to Lynch before they got up.

It would have been 3rd and long instead of 1st and goal if the ref wouldn't have called that.

Right. Plummer and the offense put up 27 points.... blame them. Don't blame the defense, who looked like a pop-warner unit out there. Larry Johnson is going to get his yards... but how are you going to let Eddie Kennison exploit you like that? Just awful.

Looking at the remaining schedules I'd say we can lose to SD and, as long as we win out otherwise, we'll still be in the playoffs and most likely will see a bye in the wildcard round. If we beat SD it should be gravy.

The Chiefs and Chargers simply have brutal schedules from here out.

Basically it comes down to this. I had hoped for a win but didnt expect it. I had hoped to be competitive and we were.

Now we got Buffalo, Oakland and Baltimore, all games we should win handily, then a final road game against SD whom I firmly believe we can beat.

That puts us 13-3, AFC West champs and pissing on KC. They wn their yearly superbowl, now let's go get us a playoff win this year.
