To give credit where credit is due, this is a take off on Ravage!!!'s(from broncomania) thread asking us to decide on one "Franchise" player who we would build our team around.
So, start your franchise. Choose one of each of the following:
Your head coach- pick someone who does NOT currently have a head coaching job in the NFL. A retread, an assistant, and up and comer, a college guy, etc. For example, Pete Carroll is an NFL candidate, but will probably only go for very few jobs, probably not an expansion team, so let broaden our selections if possible.
Your offensive coordinator- pick a guy throughout the league, or college, for whom OC would be a promotion on an expansion level NFL team. WR's coach, O-line coach, etc.
Your defensive coordinator- pick a coach by the same standards and reality in which you had to pick an OC.
Your ONE player from any team in the league- Not one from each, but like Ravage's thread, pick one guy you would want to build your team around if you had the choice. But keep in mind the next category.
#1 pick in 2006 draft- You have the 1st pick in the upcoming draft, who would you select?
Your ONE FA pick up- choose one player you would sign from the list of 2006 soon to be FA's. That list includes some pretty heavy company this year with guys like John Abraham, technically Drew Brees, Edge, S. Alexander, J. Lewis, A. Green, etc. Here's a link to 10 of the highest ranked FA's to be: http://www.profootballweekly.com/PF...5/watch2019.htm

I feel like a douche correcting everyone but the OC/DC has to be promoted and his name is jimmie johnson:)
its more fun if u play by the rules! right?
and seriously two ppl picked david carr? are they related to him?:)
might as well put this here but I doubt a top level college coach would consider OC on an expansion nfl team a promotion, its close. could go either way really!

HC: tom moore(gotta give peyton his buddy!)
OC: rick dennison
DC: keith butler(linebackers coach for steelers)
franchise: peyton manning(not a hard decision)
1st pick: reggie bush
free agent: lecharles bentley
hardest part is I have no idea how a position coach projects to coordinator, I mean seriously. the steelers promoted their tightends coach to OC a year ago, but who coulda known that? I certainly didnt think the steelers tight ends were anything special!
my original HC was brad childress. but I realized that why bother, it'd be infinitely easier to just put peyton w/ his buddy.

on a silly tangent the kickers available this year in free agnecy ROCK! I mean if they all make it, which is terribly unlikely.
neil rackers, the best performing kicker this year easily, huge leg makes multiple 50 yarders.
adam vinateiri, ok duh.
mike vanderjagt, calmed down from his perfect season prolly still pretty good.
