That is classic.
Strahan musta felt a little worse. He ran on to the field with his helmet off all smiles thinking it went through. Had to run back to the sidelines to get it and was caught on mic asking "How the hell do you miss that?".

watching that live was classic. The commentators laughed a little, but man they could have ripped him hard core for being an idiot and cheering prematurely.

Both reactions were priceless, but Shockey's was funnier because he was trying to ham it up. Then, it was "WTF?"
This really shows what kind of schmuck he is. Could not happen to a more deserving fool!

Shockey is likely the best TE in football. He rarely celebrates anything on the field.....I don't see the comparison to gap-tooth.

I don't really have anything to add, but I think we need to keep quoting this so everyone gets to keep seeing it over and over.

I'm not even sure "Shockley" is a top three TE, let alone the best in the league.

What is ironic is that the referee's association admitted to Holmgren that TWO of the NYGs TDs shouldn't have been allowed, both the Shockey catch and the Toomer catch.
The Shockey one seems obvious, how they could call that a TD after review is beyond me.

You will never hear of this on ESPN either. Ny Bias sucks and is getting annoying!:cuss:
Both TD's were obviously wrong then. Dumb refs are blind or something.

I would definitely put him behind Gonzo and Gates....After those two, guys like Heap, Crumpler, Witten, LJ Smith, "Shockley", McMichael are about six of one and a half dozen of the other. Only thing "Shockley" clearly has on those second tier guys is the NY and high 1st round hype. He is good but done nothing to prove he is anywhere near deserving of the "best TE in football" label.

It's a good thing we have instant replay so we can "just get it right..."

This year gonzo is not better than anyone you mentioned above especially not shockey.

Even tho Gonzo is having a down year he still demands attention of a great TE and that alone makes him a top TE.

There is a bit more to "being better" than looking at a snap shot of year to date stats for 10 or 11 games. Kevin Curtis has better numbers than Hines Ward year to date, does that mean Kevin Curtis is clearly a better receiver than Hines Ward?

I think shockey is one of the top TE's in the NFL and has been since his rookie year. No doubt that gonzo is a great TE but he is slowing down. Shockey is just getting better.

shockey is a very good Redzone guy, he also is great after the catch. He doesnt seem that big, but guys seem to have a hard time taking him down and he always gains an extra 5-10 yards.

Shockey is really no different from Putzier. They don't get the ball ALL that often, but they make the most of it when they do. Gates is still the top TE in the NFL because the Chargers rely on him so much.
