I think the positions are accurate as of today. If not they are damn close. I believe the Colts will win tomorrow so that is why they are 11-0 and Pitt is 7-4. I am not an expert and probably re-hashed stuff you guys already know. I just thought this would be a fun thing to do at four in the morning. Let's have some discussion.

1. Houston 1-10--Reggie Bush RB USC or trade down. Simply the best prospect in the draft.

2. NY Jets 2-9--D'Brickshaw Ferguson OT Virginia. He has been banged up but still should be taken in the top 10.

3. San Francisco 2-9--Jimmy Williams DB Virginia Tech. Big and fast, could start for the Niners from day one.

4. Green Bay 2-9--Laurence Maroney RB Minnesota--better than his predecesor Marion Barber, could carry the load for the Pack for many years. Najeh Davenport and Ahman Green are unrestricted free agents after the year.

5. Tennessee 3-8--Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College--their defense needs a lot of help. Kiwi gives them a speed rusher to terrorize QB's and give them a lift on Defense.

6. New Orleans 3-8--AJ Hawk LB Ohio State--another team in need of defense. This guy is a monster on the field and should impress at the combine.

7. Arizona 3-8--Haloti Ngata DT Oregon--big guy to shore up their run defense in the middle. Can rush the quarterback as well. Has some injury concerns.

8. Baltimore 3-8--Matt Leinart QB USC--Why the hell not? They need a QB and he is pretty good if you haven't noticed. I think he could flop in the pros though.

9. Miami 4-7--Omar Jacobs QB Bowling Green--Gus Frerotte has been horrible lately. Great arm strength and intangibles. Jacobs could steer the ship in Miami for many years.

10. Cleveland 4-7--Mario Williams DE NC State. It looks like they are going to be set on Reuben toting the rock next year so they go defense. great pass rushing DE. He would help protect a horrible secondary.

11. Detroit 4-7--Rodrique Wright DT Texas. Who knows? They could pick another WR. I think they finally go defense and pair Wright up with Shaun Rogers in the middle.

12. Oakland 4-7--Michael Huff DB Texas. Their starting safeties right now are Stuart Schweigert and Jarrod Cooper. Huff is an absolute ballhawk and should be a stud in the pros.

13. Buffalo 4-7--Marcus McNeill OT Auburn--Their O line is horrible. They have wasted money and time on Jonas Jennings and Mike Williams. McNeill is huge and has a lot of upside.

14. St. Louis 5-6--Darnell Bing S USC. Another team that is absolutely horrible at defense. Bing is a big hitter, not as good in coverage but would start very soon for the Rams if they took him.

15. Philly 5-6--Derek Hagan WR Arizona St. They are set at most positions. Hagan is a great possession WR who snatches almost every ball within his long range. Pair him up with the improving Reggie Brown for the future. Plus TO is long gone.

16. Denver from Wash. 5-6--Jesse Mahelona DT Tennessee. I think are main needs are D line, O line, S, and Wr. Mahelona is very strong and tenacious.

17. Minnesota 6-5--DeAngelo Williams RB Memphis. They have been playing muical chairs at RB for awhile. They get their feature back here. Probably will go earlier but I couldn't solidly put him anywhere. Good size and speed, a complete back.

18. New England 6-5--Abdul Hodge LB Iowa. This guy is a beast at the ILB position. NE needs some youth at linebacker. Hodge is strong and fast and would be a hell of a lot better than Monty Beisel.

19. Atlanta 7-4--Manny Lawson DE NC State. This team does not have many weaknesses. Lawson would give them more speed on the D line to get after the quarterback. Needs to put on some size but would be better than Brady Smith.

20. Kansas City 7-4--Santonio Holmes WR Ohio State. They need an influx of youth on offense and Santonio has been productive for a long time. He runs good routes and has good speed and leaping ability. No brainer pick for the Chiefs if he falls this far.

21. San Diego 7-4--Eric Winston OT Miami. Their tackles have played well but Roman Oben is getting up their in years. Winston can step in whenever Oben gets cut or retires.

22. Pittsburgh 7-4--LenDale White RB USC. Here is the bruising back that takes over the Bus's position. Would be very productive for the Steelers.

23. NY Giants 7-4--Ahmad Brooks LB Virgina. Very productive linebacker. has good quickness, is physical, and strong. Could easily take Nick Greisen's spot as one of the linebackers.

24. Tampa Bay 7-4--DeMeco Ryans LB Alabama. T-bay adds to an already impressive defense. Ryans is one of the best strongside backers in college football. Would be an upgrade over Ryan Nece.

25. Dallas 7-4--Jon Scott OT Texas. Dallas needs an upgrade at OT. Rob Petitti and Torrin Tucker. Even if Flozell Adams comes back healthy they need a tackle and Scott is another massive road grader.

26. Chicago 8-3--D'Qwell Jackson LB Maryland. Another weapon for Lovie Smith's defense. D'Qwell is a big hitter and would fit in well at the strongside linebacker position. D'Qwell, Urlacher, and Lance Briggs would be an awesome linebacking corps.

27. Carolina 8-3--Orien Harris DT Miami--Brent Buckner is nothing special and Jenkins is always hurt. Harris can play the run and pass effectively

28. Jacksonville 8-3--Tye Hill CB Clemson. This guy is a burner. Other than Rashean Mathis the Jags have noone at CB.

29. Cincinatti 8-3--Gabe Watson DT Michigan. Gigantic DT who is a run plugger who gets good push on the pocket. Their offense is lethal but their defense is a work in progress.

30. Seattle 9-2--Greg Lee WR Pittsbugh. After cutting Koren Robinson they don't have any impact WR's besides Darrel Jackson. Jurevicious and Bobby Engram are fill in guys. Lee has great size and speed burst.

31. Denver 9-2--Nate Salley S Ohio State. Denver would take Michael Huff or Darnell Bing if they fell this low. Salley is the consolation prize. He has great size and speed and is a playmaker.

32. Indy 11-0--Chad Greenway LB Iowa. Greenway has good quickness and a nose for the ball. Not sure where Indy will go with this pick. I don't think anybody that they pick here will have a chance of starting anytime soon for them.

oops already a corrrection. The Bills didn't waste dough on Jonas Jennings the 49ers did. The Bills were his previous team.

thanks for your efforts, heres my take on it.

a) if houston doesnt take a oliner with their first round pick they´ll have to be out out of their minds, so imo they take ferguson or trade down with the jets, whod love to get their hands on bush or even take leinart, but that depends on pennington.

b) dont know if maroney is worthy of a top 5 pick, but green bay needs defense more than a running back imo and i dont think theyd pass on hawk, ngata or kiwi

c) if leinart is available when the titans pick he goes off the board. mcnair is done.

d) winston wont fall that far

e) ill be really, really pissed off if we pass up on mercedes lewis twice. no way he falls out of the first round imo.

good points

1. Ferguson is not worthy of the top pick. They have to trade down and acquire more picks. If their time on the clock runs out they can take Bush and then trade him similar to the Eli Manning and Phil Rivers deal that set the Chargers up nice. I do think Texans need to spend some picks on O line but they need a lot of help throughout the team.

2. Green Bay's Defense has been playing better lately. Maroney could be a bit high at number five but I think he could be just as productive as Ronnie Brown, Cadillac, or Benson and they were all taken in that area. DeAngelo Williams would be an option as well. If they do go defense I think it would be Hawk.

3. That is the million dollar question with McNair. He will have to restructure his contract or be cut. If he does get cut he will retire. I think the Titans would be fine with Billy Volek running the show for a few years.

4. You are probably right about Winston. There are a lot of teams that will be looking for O line help. possibly Cleveland, Arizona or Miami.

5. We don't really need Mercedes Lewis and we already have a lot of cash wrapped up in Putzier due to him signing the Jets offer sheet in the offseason. It isn't really practical but I wouldn't mind having him in the mix. A lot of the teams at the bottom of round one are set at TE or don't throw to them very much. The best fit for him in my opinion would be Seattle.

Dead set lock that Lienart goes with the number one pick. Jets or someone will trade down to get him. Bush has great college numbers, but with the QB starved NFL someone will want Lienart enough to move up.

Omar Jacobs has been hurt and has not had a very good year. Big drop to the 3rd or 4th round.

Assuming he comes out Williams will be the first DL taken. Measurables are off the charts and Kiwi has had an up and down year.

Also assuming he comes out LenDale White will go higher. He is an excellent college player but will be even better in the NFL.

I suppose you are right about Leinart. You think the Jets can pay him and Pennington at the same time. If they cut Pennington aren't they looking at a 15 million dollar cap hit or something like that? I think they are going to have to implode the team kind of like the Titans did last offseason.

We'll scratch Omar Jacobs, Miami takes Eric Winston and San Diego takes Jason Allen DB Tennesse.

Mario Williams to Tennesse, Kiwi to Cleveland.

Who would you project LenDale going to at this point?

Arizona, Baltimore or Oakalnd

But I just heard he was hurt in practice.

There's simply no way he goes that high.

He's a poor man's Jamal Lewis, and I would say minus the injury concerns, but as was recently reported, he just went down.

San Diego takes Jason Allen DB Tennesse

Jason Allen is no longer a first-round pick. He is still a good prospect but did serious damage to his hip. He will be first-day, but late second to early third as of right now.

thanks for the update. How about San Diego taking Spencer Havner LB UCLA to play one of the inside spots of their 3-4 defense.

Oakland won't draft him after spending all that cash on LaMont Jordan. Arizona doesn't run the ball. I could see him going to Baltimore though.

He would be a great fit but I can't see him cracking the 1st or possibly even the 2nd round with all the depth at LB this year (Hawk, Greenway, Ryans, Brooks, Carpenter (though he is hurt) etc...)

You're right that proably is a little high for him but he is a damn good football player. Like everyone else, he will have to impress at the combine.

Nice mock, but I think you will see more linemen (both side of the ball0 and QB early then you projected. NFL teams are always looking for quality on the lines.
