I have no idea how Al can sit up there and believe this **** is going
to get better with Collins QBing. An offense can not be based on a
seven step drop and a 20 yrd+ pass attempt every time we drop back.
You watch every other team in the League and they all have quick
hitting pass plays to keep the sticks moving. Collins is totally
incapable of making quick passes. He needs to backpedal 20 yrds so he
can wind up his patheticall slow release which lets every DB know
where he's throwing. I just can't take it much longer.

Lyle, there's plenty of blame to go around, from the O-line to the
Receivers to the QB to the Head Coach to the Special Teams and so on.
But when your QB can't make a simple throw for a 1 yrd gain to a wide
open receiver then there is something seriously wrong. ****, last week
he had a wide open Crokett in the EZ and threw high and behind him.
Collins just sucks plain and simple.

I'm not saying he doesn't suck; he definitely is not the answer for
this franchise. But he got knocked on his ass all day because a
motivated Miami D-line was whipping the Raider O-line off the line
of scrimmage. I agree with you about the 7 step drop; when you have
an average O-line, engineer your play-calling so that your QB
releases after a 3 step drop; preferably out of the gun. We are
consistently inconsistent.

I'm ****ing telling you, despite some of the teams shortcomings, the
#1 reason we're 4-7 is that clueless PIECE OF **** we have under
center. That **** turned the ball over 5 MOTHER****ING times today.
Only thing that save his sorry ass was two of his turnovers were
nullified by penalties. WhoopDee****ingDoo. Collins only had three
turnovers.

I watch this team every week. Forget the Turner hating. Don't worry
about the offensive line. Collins just not make plays consistant
enough to overcome some other problems on this team. Raiders aren't
unique. All teams have holes but a good QB who puts up points
overcomes those things.

Raiders have enough players to be making a playoff run but when the
offense struggles to put up more than 20 points a game, your QB
****ING SUCKS.

And STFU about the Bears. Guaranteed, they get quickly rolled in the
playoff because they can't score to save their lifes.

See my earlier point about having a mobile accurate passer and the
plethora of plays a QB like that can make versus the sloth Collins and

What a crock of **** that was. The contradictories are priceless gems
worthy of saving.

Virtually every one of us bought into the idea of having Collins
throwing downfield darts to Porter, Gabriel and Curry. We all were
sick of Gannon and his dink and dunk ways and were calling for his
head. (just go back to the archives and check) We got our wish in 2004
and Collins showed flashes of being the QB we were all crying for
during the 2004 season. A pocket passer throwing 20 yard bullets
downfield.

Then when Moss and Jordon were brought in after the '04 season, we
all creamed our jeans because we all thought, to a man here that the
offense was going to be a juggernaut. Every one of us. "Al is a
genius." "The old man still has it." were the cheers from the peanut
gallery. Everyone bought into the plan during the off-season. Every
one of you ****ers. Everyone hoped that if the defense could just play
half-assed better, the wins would pile up because Collins and Co.
would be lighting up the scoreboard.

And today after 11 games, it's quite evident that the plan hasn't and
likely will never pan out. Mainly because of Collins' faults that I
have been hammering on.

The Collins was sound at the time and we all bought into it. Now that
it has pretty much has been a flop, everyone wants to pile on Davis
for the very ideas you all were creaming your shorts over prior to
this year.

**** that. You can't pat a guy on the back one minute then stab him
in the back the next minute. There is ZERO credibility in arguments
after the fact when that is done. Zero.

You can't blame fans for displaying off/pre-season optimism.

I've been saying since 2000, that Davis is ****ing up and it's been
most damaging in keeping/hiring head coaches. His strike outs in
the draft don't need any elaboration.

I don't believe for a minute that a simple OB change is going to
right the ship (and I know you see more wrong than just Collins). I
lean toward thinking the opposite. That is, if Collins was properly
coached and the right plays called this team could have made it to
the playfoffs

Now, having set you ****ers straight, Turner has got to go and I'm
pretty sure he's done. At some point. Sooner is better. Today would be
good and make Ryan the interim HC as gaius said. Why the **** not? The
season is officially done so now is a good time to experiment with
some things to see what direction the team will wanna go in 2006.
Definately are going to have to shift gears because the current
transmission is stuck in nuetral.

Clearly Collins isn't going to carry the team. Along with Turner,
Collins has got to be ****canned. Sooner is better. Play Tui or Walter
and play them now. Either one would be fine with me.

I'd be happy to grind out the learning process with a young QB who in
the future is gonna carry the team year after year. Collins is a
retread who has flown off the host tire and is lying on the side of
the road.

That's all I'm saying. Al thought Collins paired with a good running
game and great receivers, he would be great in Oakland. At the time it
was a viable plan because in fact, Collins had carried teams to the
playoffs and beyond earlier in his career. He certainly showed some
nice flashes during 2004.

Ok, the Collins plan flopped. One thing we know for sure, Al isn't
gonna sit on his thumbs and do nothing. He never has.

Hopefully, and I agree with others here that Al hires a coach and
lets him do his thing. And please, not some retread hack like Turner.

And with the season done but still five games remaining, I hope Al
picks up the phone and tells Turner to sit Collins down and play the

Jordan aint the problem stat boy. If you watch the games, you can call what play they're going to run with alarming accuracy based on formation, down and distance.

The OL isnt playing well, but when Collins does get time, he's spraying the ball all over the place. He overthrew a wide open Alvis Whitthed (world class sprinter) by 8-10 yards on a vertical route. The dude is a disaster at QB I never wanted him to begin with.


Anyhow, Im half assed happy they lost the way they did. The last thing I wanted to see is a strong finish and "Norv is on the right track" to be the prevailing wisdom.

I have it on pretty good authority that Collins will be benched for this upcoming game.
