I know you guys will be all over this eventually, so I'll go ahead and do the honors.

I actually love this quote.

Chiefs notebook
The Capital-Journal

LJ at it again

Want to know why Larry Johnson rarely speaks to anyone but a few favored reporters in the Kansas City media?

Well, considering what comes out of his mouth when he does speak to the chosen few, the Chiefs may find Johnson's new-found but occasionally broken vow of silence to be a blessing.

Consider Johnson's comments Friday to a radio reporter.

Asked if he thought he would ever get the credit he deserves after rushing for a team record 211 yards in last week's win over Houston, Johnson -- after saying he was happy for his offensive line, which had been taking its share of the heat -- spoke like a player still feeling the shadow of the injured Priest Holmes.

"They still don't want to give me credit," Johnson said. "They said, 'Well, (Buffalo and Houston) were the two worst rushing defenses in the league.' Did they say that last year when I rushed for a career-high 150 against Denver when they had the No. 5 defense?

"It gets old, but until Priest Holmes returns I'll always hear, 'Can he do this? Can he do that?' Do I have to go out and run against Jesus on the field or against 11 Jesuses to actually prove I can play in this league?"

Asked if he hired a new agent with the idea of securing a better contract before his current five-year deal expires after the 2007 season, Johnson was non-commital.

"Isn't this a business?" he asked. "When that times comes, that time will come. I just decided to switch to a younger guy."

Its not good PR, but I understand why he is frustrated. His coach and OC dont like him and didnt even want to pick him and he has expressed that before to the press. If he produces though, he'll have some leverage in the summer despite having a bunch of years left on his deal. He's frustrated, just needs to keep it inside and take it out on the other team. Thats the best and most productive way for him to vent.

Next thing you know, he'll be blaming Trent Green. He'll say that if Jake Plummer was his QB, this would be a good team...Nnyah!

Nope. LJ's no T.O., as evidenced by this quote also from today's KC Star:

“I love this team,” Johnson says. “I love my teammates. I’d do anything for them dudes, and most of them know that, too."

Be patient Larry. You have the Patriots today. You'll face 11 Jesuses next Sunday.

I don't doubt the Cheaps will play us tough. It'll be that last game of the year that means anything for them.

I think Priest is a classy guy and a great back, but his time has passed and now that Dickie has no choice but to play LJ, I think the queefs are better for it.

The Chiefs are defenitely going to play us tough. They are still in the race for a wildcard and it's a divisional game...Plus who can forget when Champ stated on the sidelines that the chiefs had quit and given up and Vermeil going off to the media about it. This is going to be a tough game. I surely hope it's not a trap game. We need to go to San Diego at the end of the year with that game not mattering. It seems like a no-brainer that we should walk all over the chiefs but they demolished us at Arrowhead last year. It is going to be tough but I know we will prevail.

I think LJ is asking for a trade to Denver subtly. Like Taco said...He wants to play with Jesus...why not practice against 11 of them every damn day???

11 Jesuses? God what a moron....better get ready for 11 demons next week...they might not walk on water, but they are likely to walk THRU you instead....we needed some chalkboard smack to get motivated...we aint no 11 jesuses, but you just might get to meet him next Sunday...

Man, I feel like we are riding that Coors Light Love Train...Whooo Hooo....Great Houdini don't leave us now...get thru this next road trip and we ride baby ride....big game....we can virtually lock up the division with a W....they won't roll over, but I think we can take them...

Shanahan and others said that Dallas was by far the toughest team they have played all year...we were fortunate to escape....I also felt that this was a fantastic game...it was a meat grinder out there...I'm happy we didn't lose anyone, I think anyway...I completely expected a major injury somewhere....that was a brutal game...Wow...we might get to 12 wins now...one at a time....one at a time mock....nice to have this one in our belly and take a rest...like Monty Burns says....excellent....

"They said, 'Well, (Buffalo and Houston) were the two worst rushing defenses in the league.'"

Just for the record, Buffalo is 31st against the rush.
Houston is 32d.

Today's opponent, New England, isn't all that great either - - 22nd against the rush, and 31st over-all.

Hey don't blame us if Jesus is a Bronco fan...that's why he made sunsets Orange...and the sky Blue...especially at sunset...deep blue...it's totally cool...he's obviously biased to the Broncos...

IIRC, Jesus preached "turn the other cheek"

Not exactly the kind of people you want on defense, eh, Donko fans?

I have yet to decide on this guy, he could be special. He seems to have some TO in him. He should have gotten some respect from Vermeil the last two weeks even though it was Buffalo and Houston. DV dissed him for sure.
On the upcoming Chefs/Broncos LJ will not repeating last year's performance. That is KC's only chance. We know how to take Gonzo away. We have to come in with a chip on our shoulder and put these BUMS where they belong !

You've pissed Larry off. Didn't you realize he put Clown Shoes on Denver's No. 5 ranked run D last year?

But wait, according to you last year doesn't matter, right? We've only heard that about 100 times out of you this year.
