I live in St Helens (most famous for the Rugby team)... and aside from the Broncos I follow St.Helens and Everton FC religiously, with season tickets at both.
Never played football, as there are no teams close by... always been a winger when playing soccer and RL, so would most likely be a cornerback or WR if I tried to play football.

glad to see we've all been so creative with our names!!
so when did you guys start watching? First ever NFL game I saw was 22nd November 98...just got Cable and the Broncos/Raiders was the Sunday Night game, we won 40-14, and I just thought the stadium atmosphere was brilliant, and loved the whole Mile High Salute thing, and been a fan ever since.

Well my dad was in the Army and spent a lot of time training with the americans for one reason or another, and they ended up getting him into it.
When the American troops came over to the UK they used to play UK v US Rugby - nearly always resulting in a thrashing and when the compliments were returned over in the US it would be UK v US American Football......anyway....back to me.....
I never really figured the game out growing up, being a rugger bugger myself, but it clicked one day sometime in 96-97 i remember watching some big hits, notably Atwater, and loved the style of TD and Elway and the Broncos became my team!
Got talking to a few fans in the states, they taught me a lot and gradually built up a knowledge of the game. Now its less of 'sunday entertainment' and more of a religion!
It even affect the subliminal mind too! I had 2nd year Uni exams last year, and all the tables are numbered 1-180 or something, and for every exam i had to sit at a table with some relevance to the Broncos. I remember standing up and moving from table 6 next door to #7 and in one of my later exams my course module was allocated tables 100-120, so i stole the #56 on the way past and kicked my #105 under the table.
Go Broncos!!

I'm from Connecticut but follow England sport teams because I had family living their. They got me into liking New Castle United for soccer and Cricket which is alot of fun to play. Don't like Rugby that much though.

I passed through England during both the train tunnels blowing up the first time and the second time. Does that count? I guess I missed all the fun by hours. I guess one of the guys could have past by me for all I know.
London nightlife is a rush. I'll have to spill a pint with Fontaine and BroncoBlue next time I'm in the area.
I'm not not eating Hagis with Dagmar unless I'm three shades of drunk.

Coleraine, Northern Ireland, the home of Bush Irish Whiskey. Been a Bronco fan for approx 20 years since American Football hit the screens in the UK. Havent missed a live broadcast in the last 4-5 years. No matter what's happening in my life everything stops for 3 hours every Sunday when the Orange & Blue hit the field. \

I live in Michigan, but I was born in London when my dad was working for Marathon Oil. I know that I lived on Warwick Avenue, but not much more than that. I moved to the US when I was 2 1/2.

You and me brother.
How many Broncos fans do you know who are willing to get up a 0200 to watch football and then go to work without sleep...sometimes a 16 hour day? There is nothing more pissy than trying to catch a game at that hour and being stuck with some East coast dog team.

Not too bad bro, Monday night football's a killer though, game kicks off at 2-05 am my time and last season I never bothered going to bed just went on into work with no sleep. Sometimes it's well worth it other times re: Cincinatti it bloody wasn't.

Was wondering about something. Why dont you Brits like being called Brits?
Dont get me wrong, I understand the sentiment as I dont particularly care for being called a "Yank" or "Yankee" by you foreigners, just curious as to why you dont like being called Brits.

Definitely, give me a pm the next time your in the area and Guinness will be the order of the day. It'll be good to talk about other sports than soccer or hockey, where it's all been black and blue for me lately.

WTF is a munter? Is that a punter with a questionable walk and high pitched voice? If you think I'm rude you'll have to meet me in England for a pint. I'll show you rude boy-o.

I've never actually heard anyone use that word to describe an ugly woman. I'd use the word "Minger" myself as in she's stinking.

Kinda like calling Americans "North Americans", lumping you in with Mexicans and Canadians. And Greenlandians.
Calling us Brits - Celtic People (Irish, Scots) hate getting lumped in with the English.
That's why when anyone over here asks if I am English, I ask if they are Canadian. Or French - Canadian if they really piss me off.

I guess REALLY ugly Americans could be a bit of a sight. Somewhat like beached whales or the like. I guess that's why there are no nude beaches in America. California doesn't count. It would be a bit disturbing I would think.
Cheers!
