PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Donovan McNabb was told Thursday to have surgery that probably would end his season.
The Eagles' quarterback is considering his options.
McNabb will miss Philadelphia's game against the New York Giants on Sunday with a groin injury, but hasn't made a decision beyond that.
McNabb has played with a sports hernia most of the season. He re-injured his groin while trying to tackle Cowboys safety Roy Williams following an interception on Monday night. Williams returned it 46 yards for a touchdown with 2:43 left to lead Dallas to a 21-20 comeback victory over the

I'm not much the medicial expert on "sports hernia's" is that related to the groin or is this groin injury completely different injury on top of the "sports hernia"?

I thought a sports hernia was a tear in that same area....seperated from the muscle
I could be wrong though

I think Mcnabb already had one of his sports hernias fixed and it's name was (TO hernia)

Time for Donavan to rest...he's given the good fight, but he's done...it hurts to see the guy struggle like that...he's so injured he could barely walk...Reid, pull him off the field...He's not going to pull himself...he's done for the year...let him go to the hospital and then rehab....sheesh...he was so hurt walking off the field my balls had sympathy pains....

OSKIE Karma for the hunting trip Hotrod!!!!!!!!!!!!
I grabbed McMahon off of the wire. He won't be throwing for 300+ like McNabb, but he'll have a couple games where he runs for 50+ and throws for 150-200 and gets a couple scores. 8 yards for rushing, 8 points for 200 yards tossing, and 8 points for a pair of passing TD's... he'll likely throw a couple picks as well so 20 points.... NOT BAD!

Don't be so sure...He has a good arm and as much as Reid loves to throw the ball he could very well post some big days.

I had TO in my Dynasty league...Still in first place but that mess forced me to have to trade my 2nd round pick next year to get Gates. It is a contract league and everyone has 5 contracted players and everyone else goes back into the pool for next years draft. Gates doesn't have a contract so I am just renting him for a few weeks in exchange for what should end up the first overall pick of the 2nd round. It's going to hurt next year come draft time but will be worth it if I hold on for the title this year.
