http://img473.imageshack.us/img473/2235/smith35wy.jpgIt's so freaking complicated - what version do you have, CS2? To be honest, for 99% of things, PhotoShop "Elements" or another such program, Corel PhotoHouse or MGI PhotoSuite - all work fine.
PhotoShop is really for professionals - - although that Smith, and your D.J. Williams on your profile - look great.

Nice. But why did you spend the time on Steve Smith?
I love Photoshop. I'm okay, but I would love to get some formal training with it. It's amazing, though, the tutorials that you can find online. You can do just about anything, it seems.
So, here's a question for you all. How many of you that use Photoshop are using a non-pirated version of it?Uhh

My old computer had a version cracked, I loved it. Now I have to settle for this gay microsoft acryllic, which is a poor attempt at being PS.

I don't honestly understand the player photoshop thing, the picture of a player with their name and graphics and stuff... might as well just put a football card in your sig. You know there is an upgrade tract to PS CS2 that isn't TOO expensive. Buy a copy of PS 6.0 off Ebay. REGISTERED COPY. Alot of European version out there for CHEAP (<$100). Then Just get the Upgrade from Adobe. That way you can get all the upgrades automatically!!

Well, like any true artist I can't reveal ALL my tips. But this should help.
Keep the hair on a separate layer until you're finished with it (then flatten image)
A high key color hair (like neon) can be changed by going to the 'color saturation' command. (orange can go to pink or blue)
Match face view with the hair. If the face is straight on angle, the hair has to be also. A side view face needs the same view for the hair.
HOWEVER!
To screw with the style, you can make the hair crazy using the transform tool, using the wrong view. This is good for weird and lopsided hairstyles.
use a good pixel size image to crop (approx 200 pixes square or up) don't use anything smaller, there's too much dropout of pixels.
Use hair that has a lot of texture. I added texture to Jake's 'fro' by cutting out an area and texturizing it, adding contrast. The result makes the fro look more natural instead of a big black cotton blob.
Always shade the edges of the face with a soft airbrush to make the hair 'sit' naturally. Make sure you shape the hair to fit the head or the effect is lost.
Hope this helps. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got another hairstyle to do...:~ohyah!:

Hey guys...I've been using PS for many years now. Started out editing family photos...and eventually started doing all my set design/interior design renderings in it.
The cylinder you see is an example of creating 3d images in PS...i use the airbrush a lot. A tip on using reflections is to slightly blur the reflection using the 'Gaussian Blur' filter. That filter is also very useful to tone down things so they dont look too sharp.
The set design you see was a pencil sketch that i scanned and painted in PS by use of the airbrush. I dont use a tablet or anything, just traced with subtle mouse clicks and such. Theres a trick where you can paint colors and still keep the pencil/line work underneath.
I havent gotten around to doing any Broncos stuff...but i'll give it a try and post..
If you have any PS questions....fire away....i'll see if i can help.

Okay, some people might say I have a vivid imagination, but there's been something creeping me out about Circle Orange's most recent Jake Plummer hairstyle.
Here's a little question for anyone reading this, and I want you to think hard about it. Think really hard.
How many of you have ever seen Jake Plummer, Seba the Tibetan Shih-Tzu, or David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, & Nash in the same room together?
Admit it - none of you have.
What am I getting at? A little thing I like to call "evolution" - that's what. I think this year's Jake Plummer might just be an imposter. I have reversed the process for the image in the message following this one.
