Technically it's not my birthday till Wednesday next week, but this event was only this week.
My (wonderful) wife got us tickets with a couple of friends to go to Denver and see Dave Chappelle play a very small gig at the Comedy Works.
Heres the review of the first show on Monday night: http://www.denverpost.com/entertainment/ci_3216583
We went to the 2nd show. In order to stop scalping of tickets, you could only pick them up at the door, so we had to wait outside till the first show let out. In the snow. It was ok however as we took turns going to the bar accross the street to take shots while our wifes held our place and vice versa.
ANyway, as the first show let out I'm rather tipsy and talking about how awesome it would be if there were some Broncos there, and lo and behold the behemoth that is Trevor Pryce leaves the exit (exactly where I was!) with his rather fetching date/wife. Cue drunken me shout "Trevor!", where I got to shake his hand and thank him for his performances, glad he didn't leave and tell him he was awesome. And thank him for MNF. Then we went in and were seated for Dave's 2nd show of the evening. Cue the guys seating people converge near where we were sitting to ask "I need six seats for the Broncos." Awesome. In walks (about 20 feet from me, so I only saw 2 of them) Rod and Charlie Adams, plus 4 other players (at this point I am too drunk and star struck, while trying to act cool, yeh right, to see who else). At which point I shout "Rod!!!", while not directly at him, just generally, but he looks over and nods and smiles. It was awesome.
So was the show.
Anyways, here I am, turning 25 in a week and I am a complete dork when I see my first Broncos live in person. Yes, this http://www.pintshop.com/sunshine.jpg and this http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6667/1237/1600/Jameson.jpg had a role to play, but I am a complete dork.
My Birthday night out was awesome though.
I'm still newish to Boulder, so I don't know any Bronco fans yet, so I had to tell someone somewhere, hope it's ok to tell it here.
That's my birthday story.
