Just watching Turkey v Switzerland .. now this is some game, the field will bet set tonight. Groups will be drawn early next month.

Turks need one more goal to qualify, but the way they´re behaving on the pitch is ridiculous. The atmosphere there is absolutely stunning.

Looks like the draw is this friday. The Yanks look like they are going to get the shaft as far as seeding goes. Despite recent dominance over Mexico on the Intl. level and finishing ahead of them at 1st place in their qualifying region it looks like FIFA is going to issue Mexico a top seed.

If the US has ever deserved that seed, its now. We are the best nation in CONCACAF. Oh well...just another in a long line of disrespect for the US footballers.

POT ONE
Germany (hosts)
Brazil (holders)
Argentina
England
France
Italy
Mexico
Spain

POT TWO
Australia
Angola
Ghana
Ivory Coast
Togo
Tunisia
Ecuador
Paraguay

POT THREE
Croatia
Czech Republic
Netherlands
Poland
Portugal
Sweden
Switzerland
Ukraine

POT FOUR
Iran
Japan
Saudi Arabia
South Korea
Costa Rica
Trinidad & Tobago
US

Special pot: Sebria & Montenegro

Serbia and Montenegro will go into one group with either Brazil, Argentina or Mexico so there´s not 3 European teams in one groups.

The factors they used for the seedings actually helped the US as they weighted the 2002 WC double, 1998 once and also used the total joke that are the FIFA Rankings for the list. Unlike in the NFL, NBA etc. head to head is rarely used for such things here.

Yep, total bull**** if they aren't put in Pot 1. If you go off the rankings that everyone hates, they're 8th in the world. If you go off '02 results that the Dutch don't want because they didn't qualify, they lost in the Quarters to the runner-up and completely outplayed them.

The 02 results actually count double and the Dutch aren´t in pot 1 either. You got knocked out with 0 points in 1998, which couts as well and where the Dutchies made the Semis. They don´t take the FIFA Rankings right now, but rather an average over the past 3 years.

Under the seedings system Brazil have 64 points followed by England (51), Spain (50), Germany (48), Mexico (47), France (46), Argentina (44) and Italy (44). The USA had 43 points and Holland 38.

Head-to-head isnt the only thing going for the US. We also have regional dominance and more World Cup Success going back to '94. We are a better team. The only place that Mexico will have an advantage is with the FIFA rankings. I dont understand how on earth US Soccer isnt raising an issue over this. It's blatant.

Will you be taking OF1 to Germany? :)

Really Meck, you've gotta go. It's such a wonderful sporting experience. There's nothing like it in the world. It is the sports fan's ultimate event.
