This game against the Jets next week has all the makings of our annual trap game.

These guys are hurting, but they are still gaming. They were within a play or two of knocking oof SD and did knock off a good Tampa team. We also have to play them coming off a win vs. Oakland and we could be looking ahead to the Cowgirls on Thanksgiving. The upside here is that we are at home and not traveling out to the East Coast which seems to kill us for some reason (see Miami and NY).

They don't have anyone on their offense that jumps out and grabs you except for Martin, and he has been slowed this season with inconsistent QB play. Their defense has some playmakers, but it has not been nearly enough to help this team out at all.

Thoughts?

Bollinger doesnt scare me.....plus we are home. This isnt a trap game, this is going to be a beatdown.

We can't be looking ahead. That's when teams get into trouble. The Jets are the next victim. If the team takes that attitude, then we should have no problem beating "the other NY team".

Brooks throws Bricks.

Unless Vinny Long Island is back under Center?? He's not right?? He's injured and it's Bollinger's team.

Actually this is the usual time of the year that several clueless knuckleheads on the board pray for bad weather so they can go out to the game on Sunday for a "true Mile High expereince".

"The snow was so beautiful", etc., they say after we lose the game.

With that in mind, the only thing that costs us here is a bad weather game. Good weather should mean no problem.

Keep em up Mikey!!!

I'm more confident about the 2005 Broncos not playing down to the competition than the prior years teams. This team seems very focused and primed to do something special this year. Also, should they continue this pattern of fast starts, there is no way the Jets will catch up. I know this has been a pattern, but the Jets are nowhere near as good on offense as NYG, NE, Philly, Oakland. it's not even close. So basically as long as the Broncos don't let the Jets stay close, this game will be game over quick. 21-0 against the Jets is like 55-0

The heck with the snow. It's been sunny and clear for awhile now. I'm getting use to it. The good thing is it's been snowing like hell in the mountains building up that ski bases!

I'll take a clear and cold game. I think the Broncos would prefer it also.

You know I was talking to Disco about this. Why is that when we are on the road and win the coin toss that we put our offense on the field first? If I were shanny I'd stick the D on the field. Anyway just a random thought I wanted to throw out there.

The Jets know how to win. They were a playoff winner last year and are playing for pride this year. This is definitely a trap game. The Jets were competitive against SD and Jax. They also managed to beat Miami and Tampa Bay.

Jesus Christ, everytime we play a bad team the "this is a trap game' thread comes out. Its so annoying. Denver is going to beat the Jets by 20+, lets be serious. you "trap" people should be shot. Its like you want to see us lose so you can say "gee wally, i told you it was a trap game". F that.

The one thing that I worry about is not getting enough pressure. If its Vinny back there and he has enough time he can still pick you apart. The problems are abundant for Gang Green though and its hard to believe the Broncos wont pull this one out.

Then again, most people felt that way here in NY about the Giants yesterday and look how that turned out.

Right on; it drives me crazy when I see fans hoping for snow. We have won 80% of our home games since I've been a fan, but only about 40% of our home games when it snows.

Never hope for snow for a home game in Denver. The worst weather I want is 35 degrees and clear.

I never want anything more severe than that.

At worst Meck, you may consider to defer choice to 2nd half, which I believe you can still do in the NFL.

You would never choose Defense, unless the weather conditions were so severe, that it forced you to consider it.

Reeves chose D to start on a few rare occasions, and I think they were weather related (1987 season finale against San Diego in blizzard.)

By deferring choice to 2nd half, you won't lose both start of half possessions, but can still get your wish of starting the game on Defense.

Beat me to it. Carolina handled this team over the weekend. IF we are good, we will too.

This looks like the Cincy, Chicago, and Oakland game at home that we've had over the past few years on the schedule... this team is ready for the offseason. Are we going to step on their throat or give them the pleasure of causing some problems in the AFC championship race?

I like this thinking. Yeah, the "trap" idea is another way of saying that our team looks ahead.....yet EVERY quote from ANY player this season keeps saying "one game at a time". Sure Denver could stumble, but they have to look forward to playing a team that hasn't been very good...rather than play a top team.

"Gee, would we rather play the 2-7 struggling-Jet team or a luckier-than-heck-Washington-type team?" "Right, give us that contending team because we really need to be tested some more...."

What's funny is that some fans and writers STILL are thinking that Warren-Myers-Ekuban-Brown are not really that good. One Raiderfan yesterday was whining about his 0-line being soft. I tried to tell him that Denver's d-line is loaded for bear.....he completely denied that theory, saying "nobody is scared of Denver's d-line"......um, yeah, except maybe Kerry Collins...

I just don't see this team overlooking anyone. They seem to really be taking it one week at a time, and I just don't see us losing. It could still be a competitive game, but I like our chances. Then we get to go into Dallas and beat them down. I think they're going to have a harder time preparing for us on a short week than the other way around.

Our defense should handle the Jets offense with no problem. The Jets just lost another Olineman for the year and the rest of their line is in just as much bad shape. The Broncos should win this game with no problem really, but ofcourse, anything can happen.

Everything is close in the NFL. Good teams are not much better than the bad teams, and starters aren't much better than the reserves. Obviously, the Jets will have to give everything they have to beat Denver, but what if they muster up that kind of effort? Denver will have to play at their best just to hold them off. Sitting Champ and dusting off Cowboys film are the first indications that this could be a trap.

Why look ahead to Dallas. The Jets are a conference game. I want this game more anyway.

Uhm ::)

This is a completely different team than last year's, or for that matter the last FEW years. We are Imposing our WILL on teams this year, and each week we will impose more and more of our will on teams, you see, we are getting better every week. Trap games don't effect teams that impose their will on the opposition. I don't see us having any trap games this year. Yeah, we aren't going to win every game (or ARE we? ), but we are going to do what we do. We are too good of a well-rounded solid team to fall for a Trap game. We are a completely different team this year than in years past.

All we have to do is get 'er done, so GET 'ER DONE!!!!

First off we are playing the 30th ranked offense in the league, Bollinger is nothing like Ferotte, Ferotte is an average QB while Bollinger doesnt belong in the NFL. Jets are 31st in points, 27th on the pass, 28th in rushing, for the defense.....Hilarious! those of you scared of the defense....they are 29th in stopping the run, pretty good on the pass ranked 7th. However if you watched yesterdays game it looked like they gave up on the season. Bollinger doesnt have the experience Ferotte has. So im not scared of this being a trap game, I believe in this team to dominate in this game.

The Jets defense is good, the problem is they never get any help offensively. If they get some help offensively and have something to play for they could be dangerous. We better watch their return man Miller also cause he can start them up pretty good.

Ive always liked herm for that reason, he gets his players ready. The Jets have been hit hard with injuries, they just lost their starting RT for the season, for the jets it has been one blow after another. I just dont think the jets are that good to beat us, if it wasnt for the injuries i would be singing a different tune.

Well against this team our defense is our offense so to speak. They have a good defense on the pass because of Ty Law etc but I expect MA and Tater to have a big day. Its mile high and your right they will be tired.:strong: Someone might want to call the NATIONAL GUARD for this game!!!!

I don't think we have to really open it up vs the jets (no disrespect intended) but a nice effort on both sides of the ball with no stupid mistakes should do the trick.
