Who do the bettors like for today?

Well, if you like parlays like i do,

Broncos to cover
Chiefs to win
Skins to cover (-1)
Colts/Texans - Over 45
Cowboys to win

this will net you 167.47 on a 5 dollar bet.

I did make one stupid bet though, part of my 12-team jackpot-type parlay,
Bears to cover against 9'ers... it's a 13 point spread, and i doubt either team scores 13... oh well

I like Washington and Denver but not sold on anything else, i don't think..

I think Simms is just horrible right now. Against a good Skins D i just don't see him getting better this week.

As for KC, i just have a feeling they will hang with us this week.,. but if they lose, well then i'm not too worried about losing 5 bucks.

As i say this, every person on CBS picked the chiefs so i guess i already lost that one.

I've got 20.00 on each of these...

chiefs +2.5 (not looking good)

Panthers -9.5

Cowgirls +3

I haven't bet on football for quite awhile because I would usually lose, but I've done so well at Texas Hold'em I figured I'd use some of those winnings on football. I never bet on the Bronco game cuz I don't want to screw them up with my horrible bets :)

I've been doing well this season but decided not to wager today. I liked the Chiefs but I'm not regreting I didn't head to the window today.

I threw away my money on Eli and the Giants -9 1/2. Gotta love laying that many points and then having to absorb an interception return and a kickoff returm for TDs.

Looks like I'm going to cover with Detroit -3 1/2.

I'm sweating out the Miami/New England game right now. I laid 2 1/2 with the Patriots. If the Dolphins kick a FG here, and they probably will, I'm screwed.

I also laid 2 1/2 with the Broncos.

3 for 4 today. Too bad I took the Giants instead of the Jags, or it would have been a perfect day.

I'm seeing things pretty well lately. The last four weeks I'm 3-1, 3-1, 4-2 and 3-1.

I decided to take the house money today and do a small TV parlay of Cleveland +7 to Philly -2 1/2 tomorrow night. Seems like most of the town is going the other way on these games and its never a bad idea to fade the public.

Good job Slap. I bet straight up today lost the chief game but I doubled up on the Panthers. How do parlays and teasers work bro?

Parlays pay higher odds, but you have to get every team in the parlay correct to collect. One loss kills the ticket. Most books pay off parlays roughly this way:

two teams - 13 to 5

three teams - 5 to 1

four teams - 12 to 1

five teams - 25 to 1

etc

Sucker bets mainly, but good, clean fun if you're not wagering a lot of cash, because the payoffs are nice. I've been playing parlays a lot this year and I've hit three of them the last two weeks. Still, they tear your heart out in the long run. I missed a four team parlay this year by one point on the last game one week and another four teamer by a half point the following week. Painful beats.

Teasers are true sucker bets. Just like parlays, you have to hit multiple teams, but the payouts are less because you're allowed to add six points to the line on each game. For example, if you would be laying 3 points, instead you're getting 3 points. If you would be getting 3 points, instead you're getting 9 points. A two team teaser only pays off 11 to 10, though. I avoid them like poison.

Ok cool. Thanx Slap. I might try a 2 or 3 team parlay next week for the heck of it, but for a small amount like you say. Then do a couple more straight up. Have to wait and see the lines though. Thanx again for the info.

Not anyplace I know. Individual bookies offer some wazoo stuff, though, so, I'm sure some guy, somewhere, is taking action like that.

No problem. Parlays are fun, but they'll make you cry, too. Nothing like playing three two team parlays and going 1-1 on all three tickets.

Sometimes I like to parlay my favorite play on more than one ticket, matching it with different plays. I call the game that I put on all the tickets my "wheel game".

Today I had two wheel games. I parlayed the Broncos/Patriots to the Lions on one ticket (a winner) and I parlayed the Bronco/Patriots to the Giants on another ticket (a loser). I also parlayed all four teams on another small ticket (another loser). So, even though I was right on three of four games today, the damn NYG killed two of my three parlays. Still kicking myself for taking them over Jacksonville. I would have hit all three tickets with the Jags.

My head's spinning with all that :) I think I'll keep it kinda simple till I see if I can do a little better with it then I use to :)

I'll break it down like this, so its easier to understand. I had two three team parlays and a four team parlay.

Winner
Broncos -2 1/2
Patriots -2 1/2
Lions -3 1/2

Loser
Broncos -2 1/2
Patriots -2 1/2
New York Giants -9 1/2

Loser
Broncos -2 1/2
Patriots -2 1/2
Lions -3 1/2
New York Giants -9 1/2

As you can see, I called three out of four games right, but I had the Giants wrong so they killed a three team parlay and a four team parlay. Did I mention Eli is a little jug-eared dicklicker?

Slap might know more on the topic but there is a Round Robin option that allows you to lose one of the bets and still net cash. They are quite expensive because in essence you're buying 3 bets in one (hence the name Round Robin)

I've never done a Round Robin, but here's how I understand that they work.

Basically, you take three or more teams and bet them in all possible two and/or three team parlays.

Here's an example using today's games. Say you like Denver -2 1/2, New England -2 1/2 and the stupid NYG -9 1/2. The parlays combinations are as follows:

Denver/New England - Risking $100 to win $260 - Winner

Denver/NYG - Risking $100 to win $260 - Loser

New England/NYG - Risking $100 to win $260 - Loser

Potentially, you were wagering $300 to win $780, had all three teams covered.

Since Eli is a jug-eared inbred, you win $260, but lose $200, for a profit of $60.

I see you have corrected your error of calling Eli short.

Cool Slap. Yeah that makes alot more sense to me in a list like that. Don't care for word problems ;) Man you gotta be hatin' the freakin' Giants right now! Not only do they squeak a win on us at the very end the other week but they screw ya in two of your bets this week. f'k'em

sportsbook.com offers something called a "progressive parlay", in which you can get 1, 2, or 3 wrong and still cash in, depending on how many teams you bet on. However, if you get them all right, your payout isn't as much as it would have been in a regular parlay.

If you are new to the scene, try parlays with small wagers and ease your way into it. It doesn't take long to get a feel for, and remember that all bets are final, so make sure you double check your handy work before you submit the stuff.

I went to sign up with both sportsbook and 5dimes this morning. Signed with 5dimes 1st and it just cruised right along no problem then tried sportbook and it was slow as molasses and it never took all the info I typed in. I know they may have just been busy but I just went ahead and went with 5dimes. We'll see how it goes.
