Good work Jens.

Time to pound on the Cyclowns.

Huge game for the buffs, The B12 north crown is on the line, as is a 9-2 season. Come on Buffs.

Sorry Jens, us former bandgeeks keep forgetting to start threads ;D

As for ISU, I'm more worried about this game then ever. We are going to be playing an up and coming ISU team that has really turned the page pretty well this year. Combine that with the fact that its a very rare night game in Ames, and their fans will be amped, and I see this as one tough, tough roadie to escape from.

However, stopping their offense will be the big key IMO. Plus, I think as long as we can grind out our run game and melt that clock all day, we should be able to keep them from really effectively running that rock.

Its gonna be ugly, but the Buffs will walk away with the title 22-17 in a hell of a battle! GO BUFFS!!!!!!!!!!

ISU is going to be sky high. They're trying to get a sell-out going and will be working the crowd up big time. But the Buffs are going to be even more amped. We clinch the division on Saturday night.

Good point. That MWAC is brutal.

Back on point here, this senior laden Buffs team is not going to lose in Ames. This team is focused and determined to win out. (And I need them to, since I am going to be in San Diego at the time of the Holiday Bowl:~ohyah!: )

I'm really tempted to make the trip out to SD if the Buffs make the Holiday Bowl. I think I could convince my buddy that lives in Albuquerque to take a few days off from work for that, especially because he knows a girl that lives out there (therefore free place to crash).

I was at my best friend's house in Grand Junction (where we grew up) with a whole group of us just watching in disbelief. I was calling my dad with updates every 15 minutes and he was having a hard time because my mom is from Nebraska and he always tried to stay neutral (even though he was a big CU fan).

Oh hell yes I was there. I've only missed one Buffs game at home since '84 and there was no way I was gonna miss that 2001 slaughter Nyah!

I remember the whole student section (especially where I was) were already planning on taking down the goalposts by the end of that first quarter when we were up 28-0. Priceless memories.

As for today, I dont care what anyone else says... I'm damn concerned about this game and really hope we dont see the sloppy penalty-ridden Buffs. They gotta keep those yellow flags under control like last week if we expect to do jack... GO BUFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Pain can attest, I'm one of hte more "pessimistic" Buffs fans out there. That said, I can NOT see us losing today. Our seniors have kicked it up and I honestly get the feeling that they will not allow the team to lose. I could see Lawrence Vickers carrying the entire team on his back by himself. Iowa State was my pre-season pick for the Big XII North (once again, the lesson as always, is that I'm an idiot), but the way the Buffs are playing......

Hercules Rockefeller
11-12-2005, 06:11 PM
Offensive line and secondary still not showing life. Buffs stopped twice when it was less than 1, last time on a 4th down where Vickers was hit in the backfield. Klatt's getting jacked every time he drops back. ISU WRs are running free in the secondary and they're driving right now into the wind.

Hercules Rockefeller
11-12-2005, 06:46 PM
Nice, Buffs take some time off the clock and get 3 points when going into the wind.

Hercules Rockefeller
11-12-2005, 08:11 PM
The CU offense choked tonight. They couldn't pick up 1st downs in the 1st quarter to keep the clock rolling and the OL couldn't run block for ****. The D holds ISU to 3 points in the 2nd half, and the O has 2 deffensive TDs scored on it. They had a chance to move up in the rankings with all the upsets above them tonight, and they couldn't get it done.

Pezman
11-12-2005, 10:08 PM
B R U T A L

Down goes the Buffs. Nothing much to say besides the fact that we had 5 chances inside their 40 yard line to get points and came away with jack. The defense, while starting poor, really came through and kept the Cyclones from doing much. The blame shifts directly on the offense, Shawn Watson and Barney for the terrible playcalling and horrid run game.

Congrats to ISU for finally beating the Buffs in Ames. They earned it, and their fans were loud and jacked up all night.
As for Barney and the TERRIBLE decision to go for it on 4th down in the second quarter rather than tie up the game.... Not much worse decision-making in coaching than that Barney. You had the most clutch kicker in the NCAA, with the wind in enemy territory. Way to kill our momentum going into halftime.

The whole Big XII North is a fraud folks. And even if we beat Nebraska in two weeks, it will be a hollow championship and a token trip to Houston.

Last thoughts.. Jens, yes, I've been at every home game against Nebraska since '84 when there were 45,000 NU fans and only 5000 Buffs fans in Folsom that day. We've come along way ;D

The whole Big XII North is a fraud folks. And even if we beat Nebraska in two weeks, it will be a hollow championship and a token trip to Houston. The entire Big 12 is a fruad, except for Texas, of course. Texas Tech losing to Oklahoma State is a disgrace. Oklahoma is probably the second best team in the conference and they've had, for them, a very disappointing season.

I'd blame Joel Klatt for missing the tackle on Vickers' fumble that was returned for a touchdown (Vickers deserves blame too, obviously). Iowa State almost certainly doesn't score a TD if Klatt makes the tackle and CU would eventually have been tied 16-16. Then CU wouldn't have been in such desperation mode at the end of the game when Klatt threw the horrible screen pass to ISU's defensive lineman.

It doesn't matter anyway. CU should beat Nebraska in two weeks and then get killed by Texas in the championship game.

WHere you hearing that from bro? My sources in the program still have us going to San Diego if Oklahoma beats TT next week...

Meanwhile, it appears as if a Cotton Bowl bid will go to the winner of the Oklahoma-Texas Tech game, with the loser likely going to the Alamo. There is also a chance one of those teams could be selected by the Holiday, but Texas Tech played in that game a year ago, and bowl officials don't like to have the same team twice in a row. As for the Sooners, OU has already played UCLA this year, the possible Pac-10 representative, and Holiday officials probably wouldn't want that rematch.

From the Daily Camera...

So - we beat Huskers - lose to Texas . . . 8-4 . . . that puts us vs. UCLA? What,in the Holiday Bowl?

All the Bowls are basically pre-determined. We'll be Big 12 #2 or #3 (depending on Tech) - and I think that leaves us going somewhere automatically.
