Did last nights game look familiar to anyone?
For me if you put orange and blue jerseys on the patriots it kind of looked like us the last two playoff loses. Manning just picked them apart. I saw at least two options open on almost every play.

Yeah, one big difference though....our defense is a heck of a lot better than last year......AND the Patriots is alot WORSE.
The Pats can't blitz like we can because their secondary isn't adequate enough, unlike ours.
Notice that when they DID blitz, though, that Pay-a-ton had to run, and he also threw a pick to Vrabel.
We pressure the QB better than any team in the league....and the Pats didn't pressure hardly at all....they kept everyone back in coverage.....bad move vs. a star QB.

Edge also had a good game. I guess I'm still a little gunshy from the last two years. They scare me! There offense is as good as it it was last year (maybe not point wise but they have the same offensive weapons). There defense is so much better. They put Brady on his ass at least 15 times that I saw. They scare me!

Patties D was missing some key players at key positions and the dolts took advantage.

This I understand, that same not so good defense beat the steelers and the falcons and almost came back on us.
Indy SCARES ME!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that INDY really SCARES ME. I dont want to lose to them again. I would just assume they lost to someone else in the playoffs and then we beat that someone else to get to the superbowl. I just dont see enough difference this year from the last two years.

I would be scared too if my avatar featured a naked man holding his daddys big belt buckle. (just joking dude).
I want to face the Dolts after they go 16 - 0 & kick their ass in the playoffs! I think it would be fun to quiet the '72 fins & Manrino in one fell swoop!

im not totally buying into the Colts right now. yes, they are 8-0 and that is huge come playoff time but they have had a pretty soft schedule thus far and they blew out a depleted Pats team. i hear all these commentators in shock that this happened. am i the only one who had a clue that the Pats would be a lot worse this year?

Nope Patsys were due to fall off SB wagon. never know Belly the Genisus might get them back they are still in the lead in their division at 4-4!

Indy put up 453 total yard against NE
Denver put up 432 yards againt the same team which had healthy running back.
No one has played smash mouth football with Indy yet, Dillion was clearly hurt and ineffective last night. Is Indy a good time team, yes. But they are not clearly the best team ever.

:yep: That is a reason i would love a shot at the Colts in the playoffs. WE will run on them, then PA/Boot on them the whole game. I admit, they have a real good pass D if they know your going to pass, but if you keep them off balance they are nothing.
Their O is still good, but pressure on Manning will fix a lot of slip ups and making sure you study film the Colts can be stopped.
Watch the Jax in a few weeks, they will once again make Manning work very hard to get a win.

And how good do you think we would be if we lost al wilson for the first half of the season, champ for the whole season as well as lynch and then lost pryce for the last 4 games and probably 2 more? I do not like the pats but respect what they have done with there player loses. The colts do have a weak schedule but they are a better team in my eyes this year. We shall see I guess. Storybook ending would have us beatin the brakes off them and then winning the superbowl but I just dont think we are there yet. i hope I'm wrong.

Best team ever? No frickin way. Best team in football........maybe. I just dont think we match up well with them.

who's not giving them respect? your just reiterating what i was getting at. THEY AREN'T THE SAME TEAM THIS YEAR. they've lost coach and player personel that was bound to kill them this year. but i saw this downfall coming at the beginning of the year. its not about showing them respect, its about the reality of football in the NFL.

I understand that but my main concern is how we matchup against them. They have been a bad matchup for us in the playoffs the last two years. I dont see that much of a change this year to warrant a different outcome. I think we matchup well against pretty much everyone else. I also think that if we would have gotten past the colts that we would have been in the superbowl. We matchup very well against the pats and have the last two or so years. The colts just give us so many problems on defense.

well, depends. if we get pressure on Manning that can change a lot actually. our D-line last year couldnt make a dent whatsoever yet this year we are getting pressure on opposing Qbs. the Colts give everyone a problem on Defense but its about taking and making the best of your opportunities. its about getting inside Peyton's head. during the Pre-season game we were really frustrating Peyton and roughing him up a bit. your never going to be able to shut him down completely but i wont really care if we beat them 31-30. we just need to slow him down enough to where he makes mistakes.

You can hardly put any weight on the preseason game just like the last two late season wins. Come playoff time either we are a different team or they are. I do think we are a better team this year than in the years past but so are they. They are much better defensivley. I just dont think we've done enough. I guess thats why they play the games. Go Broncos!

Well, they can yap about all the modern miracles of knee patching, but the stone cold fact is several factors are involved in an ACL...
First, I don't think any player COMPLETELY overcomes an ACL...there is more than just physically recovering, it's regaining confidence as well...the aura of invincibility is shattered, especially for someone that relies on cutting, speed and explosiveness...ACL's are most devestating to RB's, DB's and WR's for obvious reasons. But anyone who tears up a knee isn't a happy camper for obvious reasons.
Second, other damage to the knee...Dante had his knee turned to spagetti, and who knows how much cartilage damage in in there as well till they put him back together...no doubt he will wear a brace from now on....You can have a vast range of severity, all ACL tears are not created equal...people are saying Pepp might miss most of next season as well.
Third, Edge isn't exactly a spring chicken...he was rode hard in Miami, and has been ridden hard in Indy...not too much, but Dungy is working him like a mule right now...Edge is able to make up for that by being more crafty over time and experience, but every year a back carries the load and gets another year older, you might as well expect a bit of a decline. Edge kept improving for two years, but has hit a plataeu...leading the NFL hardly qualifies as a much worse back now however, he's just changed into a slightly different type of back, more N/S, less elusive.
I was never a Q homer, but it was too bad he got hurt and might be out of the league...I'm a little surprised honestly, but the very thing that made him a good back, the ACL took away, explosion and cutting ability...I am sure he will be invited back somewhere after the knee heals some more. He's a good kid.
Any injury might not completely dissapear...Walls was never the same player either after busting up his shoulder three times...he got timid...Every injury is different.

Nobody is any better after a knee than they were before...Nobody.
Dillon didn't play against the Broncos and neither did T. Bruschi and they (Pats) were close to coming back on Denver. Denver didn't hang 40 on the Pats at home much less away and gave up the same amount of points.
Payton hasn't had to pass to win. They've been running the ball effectively and playing pretty good defense. I'm agreeing with Elway4Life. The Colts are scary. Who's gonna beat them on their turf? Not Denver, not until Denver learns how to keep up the pressure on the QB with the front four alone and until Denver learns to keep the offense moving consistently, even when ahead.
In case you've forgotten, Payton chews up most blitzing...loves it in fact. Denver gets pressure by the blitz. When Payton is in the zone, he's seemingly unstoppable. He can be very accurate.
Denver better be able to run on them and thereby keep Payton on the pine. They've shown me they (Colts) aren't a paper tiger. They're the BEST team right now!

Pass started but was healthy at the time. Last night Dillon was still hurt and would not have play at all if the Patriots had any other option.

If this is a season of exorcising your demons, I'm all for Denver stomping Indy 43-3.
I almost felt sorry for Indy the last few years, but with ABC running that Priceless ad and Polian yelling to break Flutie's leg...and going for 2 at that point of the game.....I want to see them get knocked off again.
Man...act like you've been there before. The first chance they had to overreact at winning last night's game the diarrhea ran from the top down through that whole organization.
What a bunch of whiners.

Or the way the NFL places the mannings on a pedestal above the rest of the league.
