Did you know usually the Chiefs barely beat the Raiders? That is the way it has always been, more often than not.

The last time you played them in your house you got punked, so you might want to know your role their, kiddo. Let's see how you handle them next week.

Think you can hold Collins to 175 yards? Moss to 7 yards?

A one-point squeaker... with an incredibly rare miss on a last-second (potentially game-winning) FG attempt by Elam equals "getting punked" in your world, Bob?

Collins is hardly the most intimidating of starting QBs we'll face this year. And Moss is not 100%... in fact Porter might be the bigger threat.

30-10. You guys didn't even bother showing up for the game in Mile High. It was like you conceded victory to us already.

I expect to blow out Oakland next weekend. If we don't, I'll be disappointed in our crew. This team has less backbone then the Chiefs who we clearly manhandled.

This is a much different Broncos team then years past. We have the horses to keep running for the first time since TD was here. This team can pound the ball down your throat. I've said this even before the season started... this team reminds me a lot of 1996 when we went 13-3. That may not end in a super bowl championship, but we're setting the table for something great in the next couple years.

Chiefs once again will be watching the super bowl from home... and then as Dick leaves and retirement puts this team firmly in the basement behind the Chargers and Raiders, we'll see how your optimism holds up.

KC did not "start slow and finish faster" in their best Vermeil-era season ('03)... they ended up 13-3 after an 8-0 start.

Did you know Holmes was out for THIS GAME and nothing else has been confirmed?

We know Holmes is aging and injured and Diaper Boy looks to be making a solid bid for his job.

Did you know Green is playing his BEST FOOTBALL with that "heavy heart?"

Don't think I'd cite today's performance as an example of Green's "BEST FOOTBALL"...

Indeed. Hence the qualifier "more often than not."

According to profootballreference.com, "more often than not", the Vermeil-era Chefs go 4-4 in the last half of the season (2001, 2002, 2004).

So? Priest is not out for an extended period of time.

Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. Fact is, I don't think all the doctors have spoken yet and that's how it should be.

Then you clearly didn't watch the game.

I did watch the game... and from my viewpoint, Trent put up pedestrian numbers compared to some of his past games (like '03).

Try watching some KC games. The last three weeks Gonzalez has 240 yards receiving!

The only time I don't watch KC games is when the Broncos are also playing. Oakland's defense didn't key on Gonzo. (Or Diaper Boy, it seems).

Yes, but idle "I hate KC so I predict hardship" speculation is not fact. No one knows if Roaf is out for the month.

Which means we have to wait to hear what his doctors say. Hammies can linger and affect performance for a significant portion of the season though.

Not in this case.

Oh, really? Could have fooled me. :P

Why? I never said Philly would blow out Denver.

And I never said that Oakland would blow out the Chefs. In fact, watching the Fade grab a defeat out of the jaws of victory evoked some satisfaction. But your Chefs still got lucky... the Fade were in that game and if their defense could have stopped Diaper Boy, they had it won... until the last second.

OK... so you swept the division cellar-dwellers. Props; go post brooms on their boards 'cause your team earned that right. I fully expect that we'll win next weekend, but hey on "any given Sunday", y'know...

I wasn't pimping our win like it was the Super Bowl, I wasn't trolling your board, I wasn't doing anything. I posted a fricking joke. Not a single Bronco fan on this board got it. All they cared about was the fact that I, a Chief fan, was posting about the Chiefs being a game behind Denver in the division and they all got sand in their vaginas.

But suffice it to say, one of your Chief's buddies branded you with what I think should become your official moniker around here: "Bob - kind of like herpes."

Bob knows how to get by IP bans? Does TJ have a problem keeping him banned here? Cause if he does I could tell him how to do a perm ban, that would end up costing boob a good bit of money if he wanted to come back.

I just loved that he got jumped on by his own guys. And the herpes comment? Rich! Just plain rich!

And in the thread, he goes on to say that he is "loved" both on ChiefsPlanet and here.

To which I say, "Rich! Just plain rich!"

I still believe we are in a tie with KC (with the tiebreaker for Divisional games). Until we beat KC in KC all our win did is keep them from gaining an advantage in head to head, but we still do not have it. If we lose to KC at Arrowhead, then we would be ahead only by the fact that KC lost to SD. We need to win 2 road division games and all are home games to solidify ourselves as the division leader. We have accomplished nothing so far and I hope the team is well aware of this fact.

The ****ty roughing the passer call on Jared Allen? And wouldn't that suck dick if the game were decided by a frigging unsportmanlike conduct penalty. All of that yardage happened on one drive and more than likely gave the Raiders that TD in a neat little gift-wrapped package.

I already said it before, turnabout is fair play. If the ref's are going to make ****ty calls against us on one drive, the least they could do is give us a ****ty call against the Fade when we're trying to overcome the bad position they put us in.

We have not played them at KC yet, and until we walk out of there with a win, then it is a lose as has been the case when we go there 2nd half of season. As is the case when we go to Miami in Sept.

We lose that game we are both 6-3. There is no such thing as a 1/2 game lead in Division head to head. We will be up 2 or even. Last year we went 3-0 in Div and then went 0-3 and I did not think KC or Oak was a better team last year.

Did you know Denver typically starts fast and finishes slow? Did you know, more often than not, the Chiefs start slow and finish faster under Dick Vermeil?

Oh, btw, Bob... this post is full of it regarding both teams, according to profootballreference.com. In the Vermeil era, the Chefs currently are 39-33; 22-18 in the first half of the season and 17-15 in the second half. In the same timeframe, the Broncos are 43-29; 26-14 in the first half-season and 17-15 in the second half. So if we "finish slow", it looks like the Chefs do, too.

Totally. When the Chiefs win it is only because the other team blows it. KC is doing good just to get out of their own way.

This is correct. When the Chiefs "win" they don't actually win because they only way they can get a victory is if the other team chokes. On the other hand, the Broncos don't ever actually lose even though they get a big L in the loss column sometimes. When they "lose" it is because it is too hot, and you can't expect the team to play under those conditions.

This is correct. When the Chiefs "win" they don't actually win because they only way they can get a victory is if the other team chokes. On the other hand, the Broncos don't ever actually lose even though they get a big L in the loss column sometimes. When they "lose" it is because it is too hot, and you can't expect the team to play under those conditions.

nice of your dumbass to show up amazingly enough when KC wins

How bout this, when the chiefs win...their fans come on the orangemane for validation. Its sad really.

This is where you find some of the best Chiefs threads. I have been coming here for some time and I never get tired of the obsession the Broncos have with the Chiefs I mean, you guys talk about the Chiefs not only every day of the regular season, but every day of the off season.

Further, I have been to many team boards in my time. However, I have never seen a teams fans that could take the beating that you guys take. Every year you thump your chest, claiming to be the best in the division. Then as the mid season point comes and goes the Donks watch yet another division rival pass them by.

Havent you folks heard? You are the new faiders of the West. If you make the playoffs, you will back in. Then you will be shown that the Denver Broncos aren't even close to playing Championship football by getting blown out like a JV team in front of the whole country.

Have no fear Doncos, the masses will dismiss it to poor officiating.

I just have one question. How can you manage such confidence when you know that the media, the referees not to mention Paul Tagliabue have it in for the Broncos? Havent you learned after all these years of pissing and moaning about how everyone hates you, that you surely cannot win reguardless how good a team the Broncos are?

All I know is that the Broncos defense isn't as good as they were last season. Even with the Mastermind making Ninja like moves in free agency and the draft. That guy is a genius. After all he found a way to make the Browns line look like an improvement over last years bunch. Even though they're not.

Did you notice that 2 minimum salary rookie corners are playing as well or better than Bailey? It's pretty ironic. After spending soo much money trying to buy the corner he never could develop, he finally finds one in Champ Bailey. Then after paying him more than any corner in the league, he drafts two that are playing better football than he is. You see it's true, even a blind squirrel finds a nut, now and then.

The important thing is that you are enjoying yourselves. Pointing your finger at others in fun has more impact when you dont follow it up with your annual beat down.

I would be that if you mullets did not show up here for a week and a half, there would be minimal attention paid to the mullets. In fact, the majority of the mullet related posts here seem to be to tell the mullets how bad they really are, and the mullets trying like h3ll to get some one to recognize them. That's like a kid in a small group yelling, "take me, take me." Well, you are right: the Mullets are smelling right behind the Broncos. (That was the dumbest thread title I have ever seen, even from a mullet.) Take a deep breath. That's a close as the mullets will get to the Division title this year.

Next year? the mullets are going to miss the holding of Will Shields and the other old guys.

I have to admit that you're right. It's the Chiefs success that gets me. I remember your last Super Bowl win like it was yesterday. Wait, I forgot! I was less than a year old when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

But their playoff history is what jumps out at you. Proud is the only word that comes to mind. Forget that your last playoff victory was over a team that doesn't exist anymore. At the end of the day, you can hold your head high over those three playoff victories you've had since 1970. That's a clip of almost one a decade. My head would explode with that kind of success! And look at it this way: you're .231 winning percentage in playoff games since 1970 would all but assure you of having the annual first round playoff draft pick, if there was such a thing.

And one more thing that makes me covet the glory that is Chiefsdom. As a Bronco fan, I have had to suffer through four - count 'em, four! - Super Bowl losses in my lifetime. Your proud franchise has never lost one. Not one! How would that be? Granted, in the last 35 years, the Broncos winning percentage in Super Bowls is better than the Chiefs winning percentage in playoff games. But whoever said, "Better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all" has obviously never seen their team lose a Super Bowl. I'd MUCH rather be annual losers than to get a shot at the Lombardi Trophy year after year.

I'm jealous. I really am. Every time I see that sticker on your helmet honoring your Super Bowl coach (who recently died of old age - God rest his soul), I find myself green - no, scratch that! - red with envy.

That said, I do hate the Chiefs. So, at least you had that one right.

Unfortunately, I dont live in KC so I cannot speak as to the media propaganda. However, I will point out that given the great record of getting beat in the SB, it appears you have solved the problem by not going back. But hey, you have disproven a well known myth. I was always under the impression that no on remembers the losers. Do the Broncos own the record of losing the SB?

The bad news is, I feel that most people have forgotten the losers of most SBs. I hope you are not disappointed if people dont view you as the elite team of losers.

Wait a minute. weren't you guys the biggest losers in SB history? 82-10 or something like that? For a beat down like that, it must have been at least 130 degrees outside with at least 50% humidity.

If I were stuck in the past, I would point out that the Chiefs own the Broncos all time. I believe we are ahead by 10 games or so. Perhaps next time we meet, you should tell the Chiefs about all the SB you've lost. They seem to be somewhat unimpressed at this point.

Look at it this way. You can take great pride in the fact that it has been over 30 years since the Chiefs won the SB. Personally, I look at it like it took you 30 years to do what the Chiefs did in one. But in any event, one thing is for certain, I am much better looking.

Take pride in the fact that the Chefs got BLOWN OUT in the Very 1st SB ever. Does any one remember the "Hammer" anymore? 2 SB appearance with what 3 AFC championship game appearances in 40 years in pathetic.

2 other teams have lost 4 SB's & have a .000 losing persentage Minn & Buff. I am glad our team fought & made it to the SB rather than not make an appearance for 36 years. Take pride in SB IV! It will have to last you another couple of years.

It's funny, though, that you talk about "living in the past." Let's look at the present:

1) You are behind us in the division.

I agree. The point of the reference was to intimate just how little the past means, as pertaining to the future. The teams on the field 5 years ago have no bearing on the next game. Until now, I enjoyed no satifaction in bringing up the all time record. However, now that you have reinforced that 1998 has passed, maybe some of the other Bronco fans can begin to let go.

I am more than willing to let it die. Listen, I have no problem giving the Donks credit for the last win against the Chiefs.

But the way you bring up distant past like it has some merit on today has no merit. It means nothing.

This is where you find some of the best Chiefs threads. I have been coming here for some time and I never get tired of the obsession the Broncos have with the Chiefs I mean, you guys talk about the Chiefs not only every day of the regular season, but every day of the off season.

Obsession with the Chiefs? You sir have over 2,500 posts here. Most of us have ZERO posts on the Planet including myself. I think you outta look in the mirror when you talk about being obsessed with another team.

I was looking for you for the Denver game. I am glad now, you didn't see the post. I think it was me that cost the Chiefs the last game we bet. Bad mojo

As for the obsession with the Broncos. It isn't the Broncos, it's the fans. They're like shooting fish in a barrel.

I will give the bet some thought though. The loss was worth it. If I were to bet and win, I would like to see the winnings go to the same place as the last time. BTW I matched you last time. That way, everybody wins.

I will say this. I will be making the trek to KC for this game. Last year, it was I who single handedly took over that game as the 12th man.

Its funny rading this stuff. You can tell Crazyhorse is scared. Scared because he knows his team are the actual Raiders. Look at them: Green the AFC west's replacement for Gannon - He's a good Qb but 35 years old and already has a stint in his leg. Kennison is playing well, but he's no spring chicken either and production from Gonzo has declined. Their line is deteriorating - a line that once was considered the best in the NFL - is allowing more and more pressure on Green. Roaf slowed the hemorrhaging, but you can see that Shields isn't who he was. And their vaunted defensive acquisitions? HA! I don't even need to talk about Holmes.

All Crazyhorse has left is coming to an opponent's internet forum and making posts to try and rile up Bronco fans so poster like ChampBailey24 can shoot off five pages of smack talk. Some of my favorite stupid comments from Crazyhorse include:

- Suggesting that our running offense isn't any good (Did so in the preseason)

- Said our team was "fading" and he could see it after we hung 7 touchdowns on the Eagles.

- Suggested our team has declined in recent weeks, despite that we beat an NFC champion team hadily that they could not, and despite that they nearly lost to the RAIDERS at home.

The bottom line is he isn't even a poster anyone cares about, or at least as much as he probably wants to believe. He's mostly just forum polution and easily forgotten.

He's also one of the biggest losers I've ever seen. I mean the guy spends many hours here making rude/hateful comments trying to stir things up. As soon as someone calls him out he's like "What? I don't care about that. I'm not mad, honest. I'm just a fan." and then ends with his usual friendly tag line.

It's sad, really.

Anyway, here's to the new 2003 Raiders: The 2005 Chiefs!^5

John Elway has.

fair enough my friend. fair enough.

what matters is right now, and right now we're clinging to a one game lead with the tiebreaker in hand.
sounds great, but it sounds less great when you consider a chiefs win in arrowhead would make it dead even.

its a good thing im a fan and not a player, because im already looking ahead to that game.
you guys will need to keep pace the rest of the way (and i think that might prove too tough a task), but if you do, that arrowhead game will hold more significance than even the '98 game did, since back then a wildcard team could at least get one game at home.

quite honestly, i see you guys at 9-7 or 10-6, and i think we'll finish 11-5 even if we LOSE at arrowhead, but if you guys manage to pull out a couple more squeekers like last week who knows?

it will be an interesting second half to say the least.
beyond just our division, we also have to consider playoff seedings, and that all important bye week.
yesterday was not good for either of us as san diego, cinci, and pittsburgh all managed to win again.
very interesting indeed.

I remember you being this confident last season too. In your pregame smack last season you talked like the Broncos had heart, and would win the game. The Chiefs beat them on the 1st play of the game.

It's the 1st time I have ever seen a team beat on 1 play. I felt cheated.

The only thing left was heckling the Bronco players. with each bitch slap the Chiefs put on them.

On that long T.Bell run in slop time (you know the one where he runs for a long gainer) when Wesley punched the ball out of the endzone, I thought Shanny's eye was gonna jump out of his head.

For me it was worth the long drive after all. How 'bout you?

I'm sick of the media talking about Dicky's balls because he went for the win at the end of the game. It was a no brianer call (I guess that does make it challenging for kc). I mean gain a half yard and win the game or go into OT and have a 50/50 chance of giving the fade the ball first. Granted as a fan you should get excited about it but I don't think Dicky was making a real ballsy call there. He is getting alot more props than he deserves.
