Would seem that the Nuggs have the best chance. The Avs haven't shown they are championship material yet, and I still wanna see how we do in these 5 road matchs after the bye...

sorry to the bronco fans outside of denver, but Colorado has top sports teams everywhere so I had to throw this out there.

Oh and I forgot. It looks like the Rapids are close to winning a championship so lets just say after them.

Well, this might be splitting hairs, but I wouldn't say they lost a "Good" player.

Although for all I care they can ship his ass back to Brazil. I'm more upset we won't be able to trade him anymore.

um, why exactly are people putting down the avs. They lost Foote. Forsberg has barely been around the last few years so don't sweat him leaving.

Milan just came back from an injury and is playing lights out. And now after a weekend sweep of the Canuks they are not far from leading their division

Maybe their Ashley Lelie? I dunno, the problem is, he's a big strong guy, and as the old saying goes, you can't teach size. But everybody keeps talking about his potential and this and that, and he hasn't shown it yet. There's a pretty good split between Nugget Nation, a lot of people are big on him, confident that he's gunna be a good player, and many want him gone.

Dude, I'm firmly convinced the franchise is cursed. Hell, we were by Moe and even though he said he lifted it, I think it's too late. The Curse of Big Jane will haunt us for a long time. Look at the injuries. Look at the rotten luck. I can count all of the times we've moved up in the NBA Draft Lottery on one finger. Even the Karl thing is a short term gain. I hope we can do it all in the next 2-3 years because soon Melo or K-Mart will go Spree on him and we'll drop down again.

Through it all though, I'll be cheering them on. ****, I still can probably name the entire '97 team that won less games than the Broncos that year.

Ah, I see. I'll be honest, I just became a Nugs fan when I started coming to school here, and before that I was just a fan of the game in general, with no real team... More a fan of just players and such. So I guess I don't really know the history.

Nontheless, you gotta believe that the Pistons taking Darko was some good luck for us, right?

****, I still can probably name the entire '97 team that won less games than the Broncos that year.

Sadly, I think I can too. 11-71 and just barely escaping the stigma of the worst record in NBA history. Alan Bristow's push to generate cap space created one of the worst teams in NBA history. I never understood why he thought cap space was the way to go at that point seeing as back then Denver was running neck and neck with Siberia as far as desireable locations for NBA players.

Then Dan Issel comes in and spends a good chunk of that cap space to bring back the guy Bristow dumped to create the cap space (Antonio McDyess). Jesus, just thinking back on it is enough to drive a man to drink.

That's ridiculous. I agree with the Broncos in January, but the Avs I cannot comment on and the Nuggets will be one and done in the playoffs. West is way too deep and they are about the 8th best team in the conference.

The Rockets will probably follow suit, so dont think Im just donkin on your team, but San Antonio is gonna win the West and another championship this year unless something horribly drastic happens to Tim Duncan.

Yeah, they played pretty poorly tonight. But I think they're gunna be a pretty good team this year. I at least expect them to win the division, although I would like to see Seattle play before really going out on that limb. Curious as to how they get along without Nate McMillan. Plus any team with KG will be at least decent, so Minnesota may be right there.

No Cup for the Avs this season. Who knows what next season will look like if Sakic and Blake are gone? Could be a gruesome rebuilding, though I have high hopes for some of the youngsters. My guess is that we won't see the Cup until after 2010.

Frankly, I've never been able to care about pro basketball, even though I tried. I worked for years in college basketball and it ruined my interest for the pro game. I'm clueless. If the Nuggets win the NBA championship it'll happen without me watching a single moment of it.

The Broncos are on the threshold. I thought they were still a year away, but, boy, was I wrong. The Colts are the only team they must beat. (Wouldn't it be great if some other team pulled a Jacksonville on them in the playoffs and knocked them out for us?)

As for the rest of the league, at this point, I just expect that they will beat enough of them on all the right occasions. The Broncos have a good shot this season and a great shot next year.

Swift, T-Mac and Yao are a great foundation and John Berry off the bench was phenomenal last night. Houston's bench is fairly deep.

You might be right about Dallas, but Dirk is a stud even if I hate his ass and with him you are going to have trouble no matter what team you are on. I think Dallas will be nearly as good as they were last year though I think the loss of Finley is going to be more noticeable than they think.

Alec, I agree on Houston's foundation. Swift I'm not as sold on just because I would rather see Yao have a real banger down low next to him, something Swift can't do. One thing that helps the Nugs is that while the Rockets are playing San Antonio and Dallas extra times because they're in the same division, we're drawing Portland and Utah. That's a definite advantage for Denver.

Dallas still has no low post game. Erick Dampier? Come on. They're a good team, but not great.

I would have selected Colorado Crush if they were on the poll. They are the defending champs and have a good chance of repeating. I know there wasn't alot of interest in Crush talk here last year but all I can say is it's a great time. The tailgate is top notch (Elway let's people tailgate for free at the front door of the pepsi center), the players and coaches come out to the tailgate, even The Duke himself comes out from time to time. The game is not NFL ball but make no mistake they hit just as hard and it's fun to watch. The cheerleaders are great also. A single seat to a game starts at 7 bucks.

Infact I'm getting ready to order season tix. Kickass lower level seats are only $180 bucks for the season if anyone is interested in putting together an omane/Crush section. DiscoMan, myself, and Buck (tailgate coordinator of Club Crush-500 members strong) will be sitting together. It's going to be fun.

(ok my colorado crush commercial is over)

Go Broncos!
Go Crush! (the season starts pretty soon!)

Swift played great last night against the Kings but what I saw out of Yao last night I hope to see a LOT more of and that is aggressiveness. Foul trouble hell, he had a monster block in the paint that led to 2 FB points for Berry untouched and unchased. He was fighting for rebounds both offensive and defensive, and that is something he hasn't done a lot of since coming to the NBA.

I think with T-Mac healthy, Yao, Swift and Juwan Howard back healthy Houston has as good a shot as any in Texas IMO. Not really sold on Skip to my Lou, but he did put the nail in the coffin last night with that three pointer.

Denver, man if Karl can get those guys to play together all year like they were later last year, they are gonna be tough but I just do not think they match up with either houston or San Antonio. If Dallas shoots like they did against us in the playoffs last year again, they wont need a low post game, they dont ****ing miss shots anyway!
