What an awesome feeling to have firm control of the division. A couple of interesting facts to note about our division lead:

1. We are the only team that has secured their home field in the AFC West, with an impressive 5-0. KC is 2-1 at home. San Diego is 2-2. Oakland is 2-2. Pittsburgh and Indianapolis are the only other teams that are perfect at home this year (both are 3-0 at home).

2. We have had the least amount of points scored on us in the West, at 152. We trail San Diego in the points scored category with 201 vs their 221. San Diego is currently the league leaders in points scored. Indianapolis is the league leader in points scored against them, with a very impressive 77.

very true but we still have eight more games, and even though we won, we still gave up 21 unanswered, we stalled out big time in the 3rd. and I am not going to expect an offensive explosion like we had today every week.

It also feels great to be 6-2, especially after the last two years that saw them start 5-1 only to fall to 5-3 at this same point.

We also won't be facing McNabb & Owens every week either.

Another great thing to point out is the rooks are taking it upon themselves to make plays. Thats something that hasnt happened for the Broncos in the past.

I would expect Rod to make that play, not Devoe, but Plummer trusted Devoe and Devoe answered.
That was supposed to be Champs pick, but with him out Fox stepped up and made a play that the O sorely needed.

Great stories on this team this year, for shame Plummer isnt getting more praise for his great season thus far, but after a career of a higher int ratio than td's, you gotta expect that.

Things are clicking and im pumped!!!

Dang i hate that we have wait 2 weeks. aaaghhhhhhhh

Denver is NOT in the Driver's seat. The reasons are so obvious.

They made a run on us but most good teams will when you get up on them. I was pleased with the way responed to their run. We took control of the game back. It was alot like last week, we lost our big lead and the defense got a huge T/O (as Taco has mentioned a few times). But this time we took it and closed the game out. Offense and Defense both showed alot today for closing out the game.

We were very close to losing today tho. A great momentum changer with those 2 TO plays, but somebody made a play, and that was the difference. Great D's make plays when they have to, and this week, we did.

We don't need an expolosion, though this team is capable of it. We just need them to answer back when the defense is struggling and then finally find themselves again. Today was the perfect example of it. The Eagles got desperate and started to throw like mad. We struggled to adjust, but finally got them off the field. Offense sent them back out, and Foxworth got an interception. Then something clicked and we drove and kept on driving. THAT'S what this team is capable of. THIS is what I've been looking for all season long. THIS is what we need if we expect to win playoff games.

We found our killer instinct today. I can't imagine a better way to go into a bye.

Huh? The Steelers have lost 2 games at home. One against the Pats and the other against the Jags.

Doh... You're right. My bad. I looked at the wrong column. The Steelers are 3-0 on the road, which is even more impressive... But only 1-2 at home... Which is very poor.

This team is improving every week, which is great but...I don't think we're in the driver's seat yet though...we have a long way to go...

We still have KC and San Diego breathing down our necks, with the Raiders winning two straight. 5 of our remaining games are away. In no way, shape or form are we "in the driver's seat". I like the direction we are taking with the team, but I think we have to wait a while to relax about the division title...

It's too early but the biggest thing about this team is we can hang with anybody which I don't think was true last season. We haven't played down to anyone either. Still an entire half of football, though. Enjoy the Bye week, people.

The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster, I don't know about anyone else, but I could use a bye week!

We are in the driver's seat, in that we don't have to rely on other teams dropping games to win the division.
But we still have to go to KC and SD, both will be tough games.
I'm pretty sure SD have an easier stretch run than us.
Denver control their own fate (division wise), but don't go counting chickens!

The Broncos are capable of anything, anytime, so are about 70% of the teams in the NFL. We did step up when we needed it (although not allowing the Eagles to even sniff a win is how a championship team plays) Things could have easily been much different Jake threw at least two picks in that game. The Eagles could not either hang on to it or get their feet inbounds. I am not trying to be all woudaa, shouldaa but championship teams dominate for a whole game not just 3 quarters, that type of play almost cost us the Pats game, lost us the Giants game and without a rookie making a awesome pick in the endzone, probably would have cost us this game as well.

The 6-2 record is pretty impressive, considering the level of competition.

I'm a little concerned about the road games coming up in the second half.

But so far, so good.

So we took the Ferrari out of the garage today, it had a lot of dust on it from way back in Jan.'99.
Rod had to polish her up a bit. Jake even drove a little today.

Seeing as how we have a two headed running attack I think we should let Bell have the Ferrari and let Mike keep the ESCALADE.

Just don't put either on CRUISE control, keep the pedal to the METAL. Great job BRONCOS !

I'm so glad that idiot Gibbs Jr. is gone. That guy wouldn't know decent CB talent if it bit him on the a**. It's such a shame that Shanny listened to him because he trusted Alex Gibbs. Once we cleared that Jackhole out we started picking up great CB talent.

Wasn't Gibbs Jr. on the staff when we picked Deltha and Middlebust? And Laseuer as well?

I don't think he was here when Deltha was drafted....but Middle-earth was ALL Junior's call. He was his coach in Minnesota.

IMO, Deltha is a good CB, as is Tory James. But Deltha was hit or miss when he was with Denver, for whatever reason.

I thought at beginning of season we would be 5-3 losing to Jagoffs, Patsys & Philly. We could easily go 5-3 rest of way & win division, Butt pirates, Chefs & bolts will each lose at least 2-3 games each in the 2nd half. The division games will be tough away but we can do it this year.

We also set an NFL record for having (2) 100 yard rushers in a game and a QB pass for over 300!

I'm glad just glad the team has the bye week now with the Raiders on deck. No need to look passed them though.
