Just curious...on Bell's last TD run....

The game was already won....wouldn't it have been classier (less "running up the score") to just kick the FG and give them the ball back?

We were trying to be nice and run it up the gut, but the Eagles decided not too stop us.

Plus it's almost 50.

Because Shanny wanted to make a statement. Plus give Bell some more confidence

My guess it was too keep giving the offense confidence. after last week they needed to put some points on the board. and if your defense cant stop them its not their fault. the Eagles could have easily punted instead of going for it on the ir own 45.

Just so they know they could.

Shanahan figured a 21 point lead might not be safe, even with a couple minutes left?

I phoned in a play for shanny, Tatum is on my fantasy team and I wanted another TD.

Shanahan has always taken it "easy" on the opposing team in the past...and no one ever reciprocates. Glad to see him step on the opponents throat when they were down, this time. I hope to see more of it the rest of the year.
The e-girls knew it was a run coming...all they had to do was stop Tatum. It was a run straight up the gut..which isn't TBells strength either. He just ran through the tackle and put it in.
49-21 is SWEET!_i_O_i_

Because a FG would score easy points, and would be us running up the score. By running the ball, we gave the Eagles the best chance to stop us from scoring. They could not.

Because it was raining cats and dogs and it could of been blocked or something. Actually Bell just made a nice run against a depressed team. It's not our responsibility to take a knee on 4th down.

The thinking was why risk a FG and if we didn't make it, they are at the 5 yard line. I like rubbing their nose in it considering we almost gave another game away. What a game of contrasts...one of the oddest games I have ever seen. We need to develop a killer instinct...we haven't yet.

If we kick it, we are running up the score....

From an inside source. Tatum is on Shanahan's Fantasy team. He didn't start Anderson today so he had to make up for points with another Bell score!

A FG would look like we were rubbing it in. Denver was running out the clock. The interesting thing was Denver didn't down it under 2 mins, but decided to run & we scored again. I was rooting for another TD, and thank you Shanny for doing it instead of kneeling down.

And that not running up the score cost us the Giants game and nearly cost us the NE game. I could care less about class when it comes to scoring. If the other team dosn't want us to score more points, then stop us from doing it. You try to score until you can't score anymore. Period. Show No Mercy.

You attack and score every chance you get. If the opposition doesn't like it, so what. What goes around comes around. If they're better the next time they come around, that's ok. If not, you hang 49 on them again. This is the NFL, not some mamby-pamby league.

I don't think they were trying to score. They could have got a first down and not a TD, but the Eagles made a piss poor effort.

In a weird way it would have been considered running the score up if we chose to kick the field goal, because it looks as if you are just after points.

we went for it on 4th down to get the first down and then you would have seen us kneel down to let the time tick off, but philly didn't stop the up the gut play and we scored.

Didn't they hand out trophies to both teams so noone's feelings got hurt and take both teams to McDonald's after the game?

The biggest crier in the history of sports is Vermeil, and he's run the score up at least a dozen times....Martz is good at crying carefully disguised as an illegal pick followed by a temper tantrum....

If T.O. wanted to take his ball with him and go home, I'm sure we could of found him one...he probably took the one he scored the long TD with him anyway....

We went for it on fourth down because a running play takes more time off the clock. It was a merciful act, because the FG was pretty much a sure thing from that field position... and the Eagles could have taken over on downs had they succeeded in stopping Tatum. Yeah, they'd have been pinned deep with little time left, but the points were a lot more within their control with us going for it than with the chipshot FG.

The Broncos weren't running sweeps or tosses, they ran right up the middle each time on the last 4 plays. The real kicker was that the Eagles had 9 guys in the box. If you can't stop a team that's running the same play right at you each time with 9 in the box, you deserve to get that extra TD hung on you. The Broncos were basically asking the Eagles to stop them, but they rolled over and Tatum waltzed into the end zone.

F Eagle fan if they don't like it. It's not our fault your defense layed down.

Toad, beleive it or not, going for it on fourth down is the classier move. Kicking the FG would have been running the score up because it's pretty much a given 3 points.
The classy move is to go for it on fourth down. If we would have thrown for a TD, it would be considered rubbing it in. In that situation, you run a very basic play. We ran it straight up the gut. A toss right or left isn't the call. That is a play that you are generally trying to score on. A very vanilla run up the gut is the classy call.
We did the correct (classy) play.

Shanny wanted to be in record books as only team ever to have a 300yd passer and 2 100 yard rushers in same game. Plus I am sure he watch SD game last week. They block a FG and return it 14 lead isn't as good as 21 pt and team has to go the distance.
