I think USC is 1 VT 2, TX has been sloppy this year, lots of fumbles and penalties, but they have been lucky recovering alot of their own fumbles. I'll do a backflip if OSU beats these guys. What happens to USC if Stanford beats UCLA tonight, if TX wins out and VT, they will still play ranked teams this season, if UCLA loses USC won't have a ranked team to play until New Year's day.

The only reason I have USC still on top is cause no one has knocked them off yet, they are struggling but I'm a believer that until you knock off the champ they are still the champ. VT's Offense is not a juggernaunt but I think their Defense is, next weeks game with Miami could be a very, very low scoring game. Texas deserves to be in the top 3 and honestly I believe that the way the computers will score it up after all is said and done Texas and VT will be playing in the Rose Bowl. I was only making an observation on the way Texas has been playing, they turned the ball over alot in the RR Shoot out but OU could not capitalize on it and (I beleive) UT recovered at least 2 of their fumbles in the first quarter, in the games I have seen them in they have also had penalties at very bad times or situations in the game. OK St. was able to hang with them for a while and despite those "flaws" UT has been able to beat all their foes. Sorry to all you Texas fans I guess I should have cleared up my earlier statement.

All I know is about people that don't think USC can DOMINATE, need to remember WHEN is the most important time TO DOMINATE...
Here's alittle inside info, when it really counts, ie., the end of the SEASON, how does your team perform, probably not as good as USC seems to do, EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

When you consider that last year's team has nothing to do with this year's...then ...no...it's not how it works. Infact I find it disturbing that the only reason the media can give on why USC is number one is because of what they did in past seasons. Same for Texas....all they talk about is the Rose Bowl from last season or their OSU win in week 2 or 3. Combine all that with weak conference schedules...and it's a real head scratcher as to why the media and coaches would choose USC and Texas as 1 and 2. Or it would ridiculous to say the 3rd ranked team doesn't have a chance with a much tougher schedule.
Here's another thing to consider about USC...their schedule is so weak up to this point that they've come in second in a poll where USC is ranked number 1 in 2/3rd's of the poll. That's astounding...and significant.
Oh...and Texas Tech..the supposed number 7 team until a week ago...they got knocked around by Baylor....frickin Baylor.

Until they get a real Playoff system, and I don't mean a "Plus 1" playoff, but a comprehensive playoff system, it will be status-quo. I am ALL FOR the comprehensive playoff system, but until then, its the status-quo, and USC IS #1, until someone knocks the high man off the totem pole...
You can't penalize USC because of their competition and other things out of their control, when they continue to win every game and have done so for some 30 freaking games in a row!!!!!!!

That logic just isn't based on reality. It doesn't matter how many games they've won in a row...the only thing that matters for this season are the games played this season. And in the games this season...they've played poor football teams. USC is a great team....but when we're talking about the hundreds of teams...they're aren't number one. And you can't sell it to a majority of CF Fans.
