LOS ANGELES - Rambo is back in business. Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as gun-toting John Rambo in the upcoming "Rambo IV," said Ben Nedivi of Millennium Films, which is producing the project with Emmett/Furla Films.

The 59-year-old Stallone also intends to bring boxer Rocky Balboa out of retirement. He will write and direct "Rocky Balboa," the sixth film in that franchise, with shooting set to begin next year.

Nedivi said the $50 million "Rambo IV" will recapture the rawness of "First Blood," which launched the franchise in 1982.

Production is set to begin after "Rocky Balboa" wraps.

Michelle Bega, a spokeswoman for Stallone, said the actor wasn't available for comment Friday.

A new "Rambo" script hasn't yet been written, but the story calls for the reclusive Vietnam veteran to return to his vigilante ways when a young girl is kidnapped.

The first three films grossed a combined $614 million worldwide.

More fodder for Jabootu's Bad Movie Dimension (http://www.jabootu.com/reviews.htm).

Rocky Balboa will suck hard. Rambo IV has about a one in a thousand chance of being decent.

Yeah - I can't imagine how, at 59, Sly can pull the prize fighter thing off.

Rambo is probably do-able somehow.

He's probably shrank a 1/2 inch or so by now too so what does that make him..5'-6"?

Two Ton Tony.... "I'll moider da bum."

....
Entertainer Jackie Gleason used to tell this story from his stand up comedy days. It seems he was playing a joint in Jersey where he was being unmercifully heckled by a fat, beer guzzling, middle aged, bald jerk smoking a cigar. Finally, Gleason had had enough. He invited the obnoxious patron to step outside. Gleason swore he never saw anyone move so fast to take him up on his offer. The two went out into the street and Gleason next remembered coming to in his dressing room. Gleason had two questions: What happened?; and, Who was that guy? What happened was that he was knocked out cold. The guy that did it was Tony Galento.

Well, I guess if Steven Seagal can still make movies, then Sly might be able to pull a middle-aged Rambo off - considering the miracle of state-of-the-art special FX and the fact that Stallone probably spends a good part of his considerable free time hitting the gym.

This year's Rambo will probably be heavier on weaponry and lighter on hand-to-hand combat.
