Am i the only one who still doesnt buy it? They havent faced anyone with an ounce of offense.
WK OPPONENT
1 @ Baltimore Ravens 24 - 7
2 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 10 - 3
3 CLEVELAND BROWNS 13 - 6
4 @ Tennessee Titans 31 - 10
5 @ San Francisco 49ers 28 - 3
6 ST. LOUIS RAMS 45 - 28
7 @ Houston Texans 38 - 20
They gave up 17 first half points to st louis and IMO if bulger doesnt get hurt,the colts lose that game. Houston scores 20 on em.
I mean until they face an offense that can score like maybe NE, or cincy im not buying that defense
anyone else?

You Run up the middle on those guys, and you can PUSH them around...

I looked at that schedule and totally freaked out...I know they have changed schedules, but that one is rediculous...not only are they in a weak division, they play the weakest two divisions on their schedule...They could easily run the table...

Pushing DL's up the middle isn't exactly our strong suit.

Depends on what you are trying to buy....
Are they a great defense? No, not even close....Are they a lot better? Yes.
They are still very vulnerable to anybody who wants to buckle down and try to run it down their throats. They are small with the exception of Cory Simon. He was a huge upgrade to the middle but they can still be worked pretty hard if someone is willing to keep pounding it down their throat. They are offsetting that vulnerability by design with turnovers and sacks. They went small but very quick and fast and that allows them to make plays all over the field. The other thing that bails them out big time is they have the benefit of a great offense that puts enough points on the board that it is hard to keep pounding the run down their throats because teams are usually playing from behind.
It is far from perfect but their weakness is very nicely covered up by their offense and creating turnovers.
If this defense had the Baltimore offense backing it up instead of the Colt offense it would be in big trouble but as it is, it works very well for their situation.

Maybe but doubtful...they are running into the tough part of their season right now.
@NE
@Cin
Pitt
@Jax
SD
@Sea
all coming up in their next 9 games....That is a very tough stretch.

I'm not buying into them being #1 right now. With their soft schedule, I just don't see it.

By the end of the season they'll be a #15 or so defense

So what...that isn't a hard schedule, your full of feces...
It's not as cake as they have walked thru so far,
why not mention the other three games you dimwit...
You think NE has it's act together this year?
So your showing 4 of 6 road games out of 9 games.
STFU...at least show all nine games before showing your star bung.
Indy can go .500 and win 12 or 13 games...your an idiot. They are 7-0. Do you even have a clue what that means? They can go 5-4 and still get 12 wins. You people amaze me.

7-0 is still 7-0. You have to give them props. I hate all mannings but the fact is older manning is one of the best in the game today and he still has a pontent offense. The defense has gotten better but they do have a weaker schedule. This team could very well finish 14-2, 15-1, or I hate to say it 16-0.

Mock,
You are about as emotionally stable as a women 6 hours into becoming a widow. The question/debate isn't about them winning 12 or 13 games...it is to your comment of "they could easily run the table..."
There is an idiot and a dim wit involved in this conversation but unfortunately for you, it isn't NaptownChief.
