View Full Version : Testing a new Chat Feature... I need your help...

Please do me a favor and enter into the chat room... The link above is supposed to tell us how many people are in chat at any given time by showing that number in parenthesis... Then I'm supposed to be able to see who's in chat by clicking on the link there and selecting that option.
I'd appreciate if a few people would get in there so I can test it out an make certain it's working...

Hey TJ, just an observation... I've had some issues getting into the chat room because of my firewall settings/cookies. Is there a suggested workaround to the software that will let us in without having to change our privacy settings via firewall?

No Idea, but I'll check and see if I can get an answer on this... I'm behind a firewall and haven't run into this problem...

It seems that when I try and log in to the chat room, its been giving me an error

But, when I turn off my cookie controls and adblocking (zonealarm), it seems to solve this issue. By the way, its doing this for both IE and FIrefox...

There should be a setting in zone alarm that would solve the problem. I haven't used it in years though.

Yeah, I suspect it could be that too. I also use a hardware firewall, and PeerGuardian2. I'm sure that between one of those, its causing the problem. I'll let ya know if I can find another workaround

It zone alarm check out the site list section to edit the the page rights.

Whenever you send a message you are no longer able to have the option of having a read receipt.
So when I send a PM to Pez telling him how horrible his fantasy team is, I will be able to know if/when he reads it :)
Ah...never mind I see the check box button.
But another thing, ever since the switch I've been unable to click on the smiles, font change options, etc.
It doesn't matter which computer I use. What's up?

Hmmm... I'm not able to repeat this. Which browser are you using? Try clearing your cookies and rebooting.
Anyone else experiencing this one?

Yeah I tried and it still doesn't work.
I move my mouse over the icons and it gives what it does, but it doesn't give me the option to click it.

Which Browser are you using?
Try another browser for a second and let me know if you get the same thing. That might help locate the issue...

It doesn't sound like you've gotten the most current version. I'm only giving you the solution that I know about. When I had this same problem on my other computer, which I had thought had Java loaded too, I updated Java and it fixed the problem.

Okay I figured it out.
For some reason I had to install the manual off-line version of java. The automatic and manual on-line version did not work for some reason. It is 15 MB so I'll just have to without it at home.
IE.

Does your computer at work have a CD burner? You could burn the new java to that and then load it on your computer at home...

The Chat Room works great for me. Except there's no one in there to talk to........boo hoo.
