If Portis rushes for 143 yds vs San Fransico this week he becomes only the 5th player in NFL history to record 5,000 yds in his 1st 50 games.

Along w/:

Eric Dickerson
Earl Campbell
Jim Brown
Terrell Davis

He doesn't have a chance against that dominant team...

Seriously, this Flava Clown knows it and will do everything he can to break a long one.

It's a trip that many people say TD isn't a HOFer, but there are many list that he's a part of where the only other guys on that list are HOFers.

Hey did anybody see CP on Nfl network supporting his DOC from back to the future costumn. This guy is an idiot and im so glad the broncos traded him for Champ . Champ saved our season in week 2 and even know we don't need him to win, but he just makes or defense great instead of good.

I'd imagine the odds against crediting the team that REALLY got him the yards to break the barrier is astronomical.

Hint to Portis: It isn't the land where politicians flow like a mudslide...

That's good for him, but I don't think he's even close to there calibur yet.

Clinton has been exposed as a bit of a system back, but that's still pretty select company.

Brown and Campbell, and to a lesser extent, Herschel Walker, were so physically dominating that they could have gone straight from high school to the NFL.

The continued success of other backs in our system after TD left only hurt his chances more. I don't think he'll ever get in, since he'll never get away from the shadow the of the offensive line.

I think a better question is if Nalen will make it to the Hall. I think he deserves it, but he doesn't have much left in him at this point. The problem for him is that the line is such a good unit, it's hard to pick players out.

What totally separates TD was the the way he performed in big games. The numbers don't lie.

That's right, for all the talk of Elway, Shanny hasn't won a playoff game without TD either. Clinton was feast or Famine, TD was feast or a pretty solid meal still.

His post-season production was off the charts. I want to say it was the best ever for a RB. And if that doesn't get him in (eventually), I just don't know what to say. I mean, is there any better criteria than playoff and superbowl performance for the NFL HALL OF FAME?!?

Super Bowl victories are supposedly the big key for enshrinement. We'll be lucky to get anybody, except John and Shannon, from the Back to Back Champs.

I'd say Rod has an outside shot, depending on how these last few seasons go.

Atwater???

He should be there, but I don't have the best faith in the HoF voters, especially when it comes to the less glorified stat positions.

I simply can not believe that Gradishar has not been inducted into the hall of fame. He would get 200 (yes that's a 2) tackles in a season- nearly every season.

The opposition would double and triple team him. Still, where ever the ball was you would find Gradishar whether it was pass or run whether it was between the tackles or out on the sidelines. When he tackled a ball carrier they stayed tackled no huge hit and the ball carrier bounces off for another 20 yards. What a player!

In short yardage and goal line situations he was completely in his element. It was as if he had been in the offensive huddle and knew where the ball was to go before the snap.
